Opposites

Title: Opposites
Author: Arion
Summary: Just some nonsense leading to some flirting leading to some smut. I sooo do not keep in character with canon... um... characters. Think Lucius baiting a new, stubborn Professor who doesn\'t really seem to want anything to do with him. *cough* Seem.
Genre: PWP really I guess... well, there\'s something of a plot but I wouldn\'t say it counts if the plot is for the male to get the female into bed... does it?
Rating: NC-17
Warning: None unless you like just your canon characters... or don\'t like Lucius Malfoy. Some VERY light bondage of sorts.

Disclaimer: All Harry Potter names and such do not belong to me but to the wonderfully talented J. K. Rowling who I thank so much for inventing this fun little world to play in. I, of course, do not make any money off this, I\'m just having fun.

Tanith McGregor is an original character though the name is made up from real people. Tanith comes from the author Tanith Lee, whose books I adore. McGregor, for those of you that know me rather well, of course will be recognized as coming from Ewan McGregor. Again, I\'m just playing and I needed a name. I do not personally know these people and make no assumptions about their characters nor have I incorporated them into Tanith McGregor. Her quirks and such are just whatever has sprung to mind spontaneously.

The toothbrush up the ass to clean your teeth line... I don\'t own... I\'m just borrowing it from Priscilla : Queen of the Desert because... well... it seemed rather appropriate it... and entertaining... and I thought Lucius would certainly appreciate such a scathing remark coming out of a woman\'s mouth. Especially one he was trying to pick up. *pause* Okay... so maybe I have a sick sense of humor... but... hey, I\'m humored that\'s for sure. :)

Special Thanks To: Tammy and Gypsy for looking this over and beta reading this for me. And it\'s been so long since I\'ve started I\'m sure I\'ve had more help in getting my butt kicked out of the gutter long enough to focus on something past the flirting and what not. Not that my stay above ground lasted long on this fic... LOL!

Notes: Because this was written with the smut *clearly* in mind... there isn\'t much to this aside from the flirting and sex. Also, there is no Narcissa in my mind in this... uh... I guess... call Lucius a widower... or they got divorced... or something. Repeat after me... there is no Narcissa. And as you\'ve probably noticed, Lucius isn\'t canon. Not that we really know a whole lot about him but I\'ve taken some liberties with his personality and appearance. In my mind\'s eye this is what I see, makes it easier for me to write him.

And... I don\'t know if anyone else will start thinking the same... but I think somewhere during the tying him up process I started thinking about Tavington in this. Because... when I get to the part about him sitting in the chair watching her... that\'s who I\'m seeing. Please tell me Lucius stays in character for the rest of you. I think I goofed a bit... oh well...

Tanith McGregor wished she hadn\'t chosen the seat she had. She had had her pick of any spot at the staff table and she had to pick the seat next to the most interesting looking person, even if they had glared holes into her forehead when she approached. Well, now she was stuck with this seat for the rest of the year at least. Lucky her. She had to admit though... once you got past the prickly front he put up he wasn\'t nearly as bad. She had quickly decided Snape was definitely far more interesting a conversationalist than Sybil Trelawney, whom she unfortunately had a room next to.

She was gazing at Snape in a thoughtful manner now as swished the liquid in her goblet around. \"Don\'t you ever go outside and attempt to get a tan?\"

He stopped all movement, his fork halfway to his mouth and turned his head ever so slightly to give her an accusing look. \"One could ask the same of you.\"

\"Oh, I go out... I just don\'t tan... I burn... on a regular basis... so I keep it to a limited time. But at least I have a reason.\" She put the goblet down and picked up her own fork, pausing before digging into her food to give him another scrutinizing look. \"You don\'t look like the type that would burn really, after initial exposures. You look like you\'d tan really nicely.\"

\"Well, thank you for that astute observation. Do you mind if I just make conversation with my dinner plate from now on?\"

She waved her hand. \"Not at all, go right ahead. I think it\'d be extremely cute to sit here and watch you cuss out this student and that one to your broccoli.\"

He gave her a crooked look. \"You really must get yourself a date if this has become the highlight of your day.\"

They politely ignored each other for the rest of the meal and it wasn\'t until Snape caught up with her afterwards that anything more was said between them. She was waiting by the doors of the Great Hall seeing that every last student was out and headed off to their next classes.

\"Actually, I have a friend who\'s been looking forward to meeting you.\" There was a slight lilt to his voice, as if he knew something she didn\'t and it pleased him greatly.

She raised an eyebrow. \"That\'s utterly fascinating but I\'m not looking for a date.\" She started to head off to her class when his voice called her back.

\"Oh, but I think you two would be perfect for each other.\" He was met with a derisive snort, as she turned back.

\"I\'m sure any friend of yours is a paragon of virtue, but excuse me if I pass up the tempting offer.\" She spun around quickly and met a wall she knew hadn\'t magically appeared behind her.

She backed up a step or two with a puzzled look on her face and found herself staring into a pair of amused sea-blue eyes. She quickly took in the rest of the sharply dressed figure in front of her. A charming, polite smile on a aristocratic face greeted her as long, white-blond hair cascaded down over broad shoulders. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Snape step up beside her, a smug smile on his face.

\"May I introduce Lucius Malfoy? Lucius, this is Tanith McGregor, our newest Professor. She teaches Ministry of Magic Law.\"

Tanith was still a bit stunned and didn\'t realize Lucius had gently grasped a hand until she saw him raise it to his mouth. She stared at his lips, mesmerized, as they hovered over her knuckles.

\"What a pleasure it is to finally meet you, Miss McGregor.\" He either didn\'t notice the slight scowl that appeared or he chose to ignore it, as his hot mouth met her skin.

Tanith felt a sudden urge to hit him with her wand... or something... as he touched the tip of his tongue to her knuckles between his lips. She waited patiently for a few moments before pulling her hand away.

\"I\'m sure it is and it\'s *Professor* McGregor, thank you.\"

He flashed her his smile again as he gave her a slight nod. \"Of course. And please, don\'t flatter me with such words as a \'paragon of virtue.\' \" He glanced at Snape with a slight gleam in his eye before looking back at her. \"I\'m hardly virtuous.\"

She raised her eyebrows. \"I hope you won\'t take offense then if I say that doesn\'t surprise me.\"

\"None at all.\" The smile he gave her next told her he was thoroughly enjoying himself in her company.

Too bad for him it wasn\'t mutual. If there was one thing she absolutely hated it was being set up.

She cast a, \"I\'ll pay you back for this,\" look at Snape. \"If you gentlemen will excuse me, I have papers to finish grading before my next class.\" She almost let out a small laugh at the pout that graced Lucius\' features as she turned to go.

\"Oh, you\'re not leaving so soon are you? Surely a hard working teacher such as yourself can spare a few minutes for some more adult conversation.\" He opened his hands as if he were showing her something that would compel her to stay longer. \"A welcome break from answering students\' questions I\'m sure.\"

She paused and turned around, folding her arms into her cloak. \"Sorry to say but my adult conversations have been going on for the past half hour and a teacher\'s job is never done.\" She gave both men an amused smile as she held a hand of gesture towards Snape. \"Besides, as I\'m sure Severus could tell you, what better time is there to deflate a young person\'s self-esteem than when you have an award winning essay in front of you that you can be sure to find multiple flaws with.\"

Lucius let out a low whistle as Snape slowly cast his own dirty looks at her. \"My, my, Severus, I do believe she has you pegged.\" Lucius also ignored the look he garnered from his friend as he swept towards her, placing a friendly arm about her shoulders even as her steps began to take her off to her classroom. \"Well, then, my dear, until we meet again may you not be too bored in that little classroom.\" He leaned in then, his lips almost grazing her ear, as he whispered, \"And may I be so blunt as to hope that you\'ll have more time upon our next meeting to spend in my company... or perhaps we should just make a game of it and I could hunt you down in your chambers. A good game is always rather fun you know. Ta ta.\"

She gave him a scathing look as she marched away mumbling under her breath.

He and Snape were quiet for several moments until she disappeared out of sight. Then it was Snape who broke the silence.

\"Lucius, I don\'t know what charm school *you* went to, but when I said you should be charming towards her if you wanted to get anywhere, I didn\'t meant you should start off by trying to charm her into bed.\"

Lucius let out a short laugh. \"But, Severus, that\'s exactly where I want her and since when did you even go to any charm school?\" He clapped a hand onto Snape\'s shoulder and shook him. \"Come on, she doesn\'t seem the type to give one any notice if they were being all prim and proper anyway.\"

Snape frowned. \"You have a point, but still, wasn\'t that overdoing it a little?\"

The fair-haired wizard only gave him a secret little smile. \"When you said she was my type I had no idea you meant the sultry, begging-to-be-fucked type. Though I\'m sure she has no idea how sultry she is.\"

Snape threw a paranoid glance over his shoulder. \"We\'re in a school or have you forgotten? And I *might* be mistaken, though I highly doubt it, but she didn\'t look like she was begging. Quite the opposite actually.\"

Lucius pursed his lips. \"Oh, maybe not at the moment but I assure you... she will be begging for it.\"

Several weeks later...

Tanith steered Sybil towards Dumbledore\'s chambers as the other professor mumbled about this and that. Her hand was just reaching out for the doorknob when the door swung open and she jumped back out of the way only to find herself greeted with a charming smile she\'d come to recognize all too well from the various encounters over the weeks.

\"Well, well, well. Look who we have here. Out for a midnight stroll are we, girls?\" Even in the middle of the night Lucius Malfoy could turn on charm like it was a water faucet as he unabashedly raked his eyes over Tanith\'s form in the nightgown. Although it was hardly transparent, he looked as if he had just witnessed her stepping out of the bath.

It was Tanith\'s turn for once to ignore the look on his face as she gestured to Sybil. \"No. Professor Trelawney was in bed and had a nightmare. She wanted to speak with Albus right away.\"

The corners of his mouth lifted into a light smirk. \"Ah... and were you in the bed, too?\"

She threw her head up to stare at him, noting the obviously interested look on his face despite the fact it was a conversation that was telling him nothing.

She gave him a wry look, deciding it was pointless to get upset. \"Contrary to what you\'re hoping... no. We have rooms right next door to each other and I heard her scream.\"

He seemed to have completely forgotten there was a slightly shaking Trelawney standing in front of him as the color of his eyes turned deeper. \"And do you scream when you have a nightmare... Professor?\" He smiled politely as if it were an everyday conversation.

She narrowed her eyes slightly, her fingers twitching a bit as they still held onto Trelawney\'s robe. \"I wouldn\'t know... I don\'t dream.\"

His voice went unmistakenly deeper with barely disguised lust and teasing. \"Oh, what a pity. So, no erotic little dreams to spice up the night?\"

Her lips thinned into a tight frown, much like McGonagall. \"No.\"

He gave a triumphant little smile then as he tsked her. \"Perhaps someone should give you some material to dream about.\"

Why was she even having this conversation with this man? No. This wasn\'t a conversation, this was an interrogation. One she was putting an end to right now. Her voice had taken on a slight edge as she replied, \"Well, rest assured it won\'t be you, Mr. Malfoy. Now, if you don\'t mind, I\'d like to get Sybil into the appropriate hands so I can get some sleep.\"

He stepped aside after a moment\'s consideration and allowed her to push her charge through the door. A hand reached out, fingers wrapping around a lightly clothed hip and stopping her in her place, as she passed by him.

He leaned down; his breath was hot on her ear and his body warm against her back. \"Wouldn\'t you like to be in my hands, Tanith? Oh, such things they could do to you.\"

She was grateful he stood behind her and couldn\'t see the faint blush that crept across her cheeks as she stared straight ahead. She was extremely grateful that her voice betrayed nothing. \"Mr. Malfoy... nothing could possess me to put myself into your hands for any reason... even if the great flood of the Bible was repeating itself and you were my only salvation.\"

It must\'ve been the slight hesitation before her answer that gave something away, for what she heard in his voice told her he didn\'t believe her one bit.

\"Then, perhaps we shall just have to dispense with the catastrophic events and I\'ll just... kidnap you one night for a bit of fun. Teachers *do* have holidays you know?\" A smug smirk painted his lips.

She wrenched herself out of his grasp and took a step forward before harshly whispering over her shoulder, \"You just try it, Mr. Malfoy, and I\'ll curse you so badly you\'ll have to stick a toothbrush up your ass to clean your teeth!\"

She heard his laughter follow them in as she ushered Sybil towards Dumbledore, who sat playing chess with Snape. After quickly explaining the situation Dumbledore whisked Sybil off somewhere as Tanith stood and watched Snape stare at the board, calculating his next move.

She glanced quickly behind her to see Lucius still standing by the door, as if guarding it. She scowled at him when he had the audacity to wink at her. She took a deep breath and focused her attention on Snape. \"What is this... a guy\'s night out or something?\"

Snape just shrugged a bit tiredly, eyelids drooping a bit, his head propped up in one hand now. He didn\'t bother to look at her. \"You could say that. Lucius stopped by to let me borrow a potions book he\'d found in his library... and Dumbledore bribed us with promises of whiskey. They\'ve been sitting here \"politely\" arguing musical tastes and throwing me off my game, however.\"

\"Oh, Severus, you didn\'t have to play if you didn\'t want to, stop complaining,\" Lucius\' voice held a teasing tone.

Snape let out a sarcastic snort. \"Well, he was expecting somebody to play with him. You had excused yourself out of that quite nicely might I add. I work here, it\'s expected of me.\"

Lucius rolled his eyes. \"All I said was that I wasn\'t expecting to stay long.\"

Snape spun in his seat to look at his friend. \"Yes, go on.\"

Lucius looked as if he didn\'t want to continue but Snape cleared his throat. \"And that the last time I had played chess the bloody pieces decided to spit on me and I wasn\'t looking forward to a repeat performance. There! Happy? I don\'t see how that was wheedling out of anything.\"

\"I was your opponent in that game. You forgot to mention that we were using your chess pieces and your King made a pass at my Queen. That started an all out war and you just had to go and just knocking them all on the head with that cane of yours. I think that only encouraged them.\"

Tanith stifled a laugh. Lucius had obviously been paired up with the right chess pieces.

Lucius was scowling slightly. \"Look, what does this have to do with you losing because you can\'t concentrate?\"

There was silence for a few moments. \"I don\'t know.\" Snape grudgingly went back to studying the board and saw that a few of the pieces had moved on their own, getting bored with waiting for Dumbledore\'s return. Snape pointed at them and sharply said, \"Hey, get back to your spots, you blockheaded fools!\"

\"Careful Severus, they may decide to spit on you.\"

\"Shut up!\" Snape called over his shoulder. Discussions over and chess pieces back in their spots, his eyelids began to droop again.

Tanith had seemed to just be an innocent bystander as she watched them lightly bickering with each other. However, she decided now was a good time to leave before too much attention was focused on her again. She purposely turned towards Snape only, ignoring the man now behind her. \"Oh. Well, since it seems Sybil is in capable hands, if he\'s not drunk that is, then I think I\'ll be moseying back to my own room.\" She threw her hand in the air behind her, motioning towards the door.

She hadn\'t heard Lucius move but suddenly he was behind her, her hand caught in his. Apparently his sight had fallen on her again.

His voice was like a cat\'s purr in her ear. \"Oh, stay. We\'d love a spot of female company.\" His other hand rested on her hip where she was immediatelely trying to push it off.

She gestured at Snape, who thankfully hadn\'t looked up at all, with her free hand quickly. \"Considering that I see him everyday... I think I\'ll pass,\" she got out, her voice as neutral as she could make it.

Lucius\' hand was ignoring all attempts to move it and she finally elbowed him in the chest. A soft grunt was her response and she yanked her hand free as he backed up a step. She stood there for a moment, recomposing herself.

She turned, heading for the door, and saw Lucius had moved already, sitting now in one of the lounge chairs only a couple of steps away. \"Then stay on my benefit alone. I haven\'t spent more than two minutes in your prescence and Albus tells me you\'re a wonderful chess player yourself.\"

She lifted an eyebrow. \"Really? Because I hate chess. And I don\'t really want to take a chance of getting spit on myself.\" She glanced at Snape only to find he would be of no help at getting her out of this situation. He had fallen asleep and was leaning precariously over the chess board, his black hair making a curtain over his face. The chess pieces closest to him, most obviously his White King with his sword, were swatting at the pieces of hair dangling onto them.

Lucius frowned. \"Oh, such a shame, but I\'m sure we could find... other things to do.\" He steepled his fingers in front of him, raising his eyebrows slightly in an encouraging manner.

She gave him a short smile as she rested her hands on her hips. \"And I\'m sure none of the things you came up with would be to my liking.\" She made for the door but was stopped short again as his hand flew out and caught her wrist.

\"I can think of one thing that would do you some good, though.\"

She peeled his fingers off her one by one. \"I still wouldn\'t be interested.\"

\"We\'ll see. Do have a good night\'s sleep... you will let me know if you have any interesting dreams now won\'t you?\"

She pushed opened the door and said over her shoulder, \"Oh, the second I have a dream that involves throwing you out of the Astronomy tower I\'ll be sure to send an owl to you immediately. You might want to expect one tomorrow as a matter of fact.\" She stalked out the door, letting it drift shut on its own and missing the amused smile Malfoy wore.
