Reflections

Summary:This is based off of PhoebeHolly\'s challenge for a Remus/Hermione story where Hermione goes back in time and falls in love with Remus. She then gets sent back to her own time, but is pregnant by him. Whatever will they do now that Remus knows his teenage self has gotten a young student pregnant? This story actually has a plot, but don\'t worry there will be plenty smutty action too. It will just take a few chapters to get to! =)

Hermione groaned, rubbing her eyes to try and get the sleep out of them. It was around 3 in the morning and she was still finishing up a potion. She had been having alot of trouble with potions class her final year here at Hogwarts, and had started going ahead of the class by doing the next potion. That way when they actually did that potion the next week in class, she would already know how to brew it correctly. It was improving her marks, but she was dead tired from staying up so late all the time.

She did like the quietness of being in the castle during the middle of the night. She liked hearing the groaning and settling of the castle every night, like it was trying to get comfortable in its bed to sleep for the night. She found herself watching the shadows on the walls and the breeze wafting through open windows and making the torches flames flicker. Even the bathroom was quiet and settled. Yes, she still couldn\'t quite understand why she had chosen the girls\' bathroom again to make her potions. Maybe she was a bit supersticious. At least Moaning Myrtle had taken offense to her being there and usually made herself unknown or just left her toilet altogether when Hermione was present.

Hermione gave a tremendous yawn and stirred her potion 12 times, counter clockwise, very slowly-just like her potions book said to do. The potion had started steaming and turned a light to medium blue. She frowned. It was supposed to be a very light blue color. Maybe she had turned too fast? Hermione busily looked through her books instructions and missed a certain mischievious poletergist slip through the open door. She also missed as he snuck up behind her, slowly, delibertly, and with absolute silence.

Hermione picked up a vial of lovage, and wondered if it might change the color of her potion some, or completely destroy it. At this point it didn\'t really seem to matter. She stared at the shiny glass and the liquid inside. She frowned and squinted at the glasses reflection. Was that a face, that wasn\'t hers looking at her? She whipped around, but it was too late.

Peeves saw part of his surprise attack was spoiled. He gave himself the consolation prize then of just shoving her and blowing a raspberry in her direction.

Hermione gasped and almost evaded Peeves attack. She jerked her shoulder out of the way, but was still pushed down. She yelled as she hit not stone, but iron. Her shoulder struck the edge of the cauldron, causing not only a nasty bruise on her upper arm but her cauldron tipped over too. She finally hit the stone floor with a dull thump. The potion poured from the cauldron, going all over Hermione and the floor.

Hermione heard Peeves giggling. She groggily sat up. Her head and shoulder hurt, and her potion was ruined. \"Peeves! I\'m going to kill you for this!\" she snarled. She had spent all bloody night on this potion and was sleep deprived, and not this? Peeves was still giggling in the air, singing a song.

\"Little miss Granger fell down on her potion,
why oh why, would she take such a notion?
She bumped her head, and messed up her bushy hair,
but guess what? No one cares!\"

He cackled some more, obviously enjoying his prank and bad poetry. Hermione tried to get up to chase the poltergist away. She got to her knees and then gingerly put one foot on the floor. She gave another cry as she slipped again, this time hitting her arse hard on the floor and letting the vial of lovage hit the ground too. Hermione gasped as she instantly felt the effect the lovage was having on the potion. The liquid around had turned from blue to a dark orange and was starting to steam.

Hermione again tried to get out of the small pool of potion, who knew what was wrong with it? She didn\'t make it this time either. She had gotten to her knees and was lurching forward when it felt like something pulled her back. Back and back. Hermione\'s gaze warped and swam in front of her face. The bathroom and Peeves blurred into a swirl of colors. It was almost pretty Hermione thought fuzzily, but then everything went black and Hermione knew no more.

Peeves had stopped giggling. He liked to cause trouble, maybe even mayhem when he could. He didn\'t like to make students disappear, even if it was an accident. It wasn\'t just any student either, no, he had made the brightest witch of the seventh years, and probably the whole school, vanish! And to make it worse she was best friends with the one and only Harry Potter. Peeves pulled on his ears in nervousness. This wasn\'t good, no, no, not at all. He then streaked out of the bathroom and down the hallways. He didn\'t want anyone to know what had happened. They wouldn\'t know it was his fault, he would just keep his mouth shut.

-----//&\\\\-----

Hermione could hear someone crying. Her head, no, her entire body hurt enough that she bet that it was her that was making those loud noises.

She slowly opened her eyes, there was a ghost standing over her, or rather hovering. She had long, lank dark hair, she wore think glasses, and had tears running down her face. She looked angry though, instead of sad. \"Who are you? And what do you think you\'re doing taking a lie down in my bathroom?\" she asked petulantly.

Hermione blinked, what a rude ghost, \"You\'re bathroom? I would think this would be free to anyone who wished to go in it!\" she replied hotly.

The ghost narrowed her eyes at her, \"I\'ve never seen you in here before. Did they tell you about poor Moaning Myrtle and dare you to tell her something nasty? About my clothes or my hair, or the fact that I\'m-I\'m-\"

\"Dead?\" Hermione supplied for her.

The ghost girl gave a loud shriek, \"You are a tactless little slag and I hate you!\" she then flew threw the air and landed with a great splash into one of the toilets.

Hermione shook her head, what a weird ghost. Who was she anyway? She remembered the ghost telling her, something like Moaning Mary. Hermione got up from the floor. Why am I on the floor anyway? she looked around, but quickly stopped and closed her eyes. The room had started spinning when she had done that. She slowly lifted her eyes again and took in the room at a more sedate pace. It looked like a normal bathroom to her, a public one obviously, but still pretty normal looking.

She gingerly touched her head, there was a lump growing at a tremendous rate under her hair. She wondered how she got it. Hermione walked from the bathroom into a hallway. She didn\'t know where she was going really, but somehow her feet were taking her somewhere anyway. She made sure not to look at anything too fast or closely on her way to wherever. She was still having dizzy feelings.

Finally she came to two double doors. They weren\'t overly impressive looking, simple really. They were closed shut, but Hermione went ahead and opened one and stepped through its threshold. It was a hospital room of some sort. Seems she couldn\'t remember there was one here, but she knew it had been here anyway. She hesitantly took a few steps in. There wasn\'t anyone here it seemed and so Hermione quietly walked to the nearest bed and sat on it.

She rested her head in her hands, it was throbbing now and she didn\'t relish the feeling at all. Hermione didn\'t know how long she say like that, she was pretty sure it was awhile though when she heard two people\'s voices. \"Now Poppy, wasn\'t that a wonderful dinner? Those house elves are really out doing themselves theses days, I do say,\" said a pompous voice.

Another voice replied, sounding quite bored and very willing to get away from the first voice, \"Well that is their job isn\'t it Professor Slughorn? I wouldn\'t expect any less then excellence from the little things. Look we\'re here at the infirmary now. I made it fine on my own.\" Hermione\'s ears perked up at this. It sounded like someone had an unwanted admirer.

\"Well of course you did, I was with you! You know I could really go for a cup of tea,\" the first voice, a Professor Slughorn said slyly. Poppy though didn\'t seem to be taking the bait.

\"No thanks, I\'m stuffed as you said before, those house elves are very good at making dinner. Now if you\'ll exuse me I have a, ahh, patient to attend to,\" she said with some hurriedness.

\"A patient? Who is it my dear? What happened? Nothing serious I hope,\" the voice said with what sounded like false concern.

\"No, no nothing serious really, but I do need to get to them, so I must bid you goodnight Professor Slughorn, goodnight!\" Poppy said in one breath and promptly swept into the room and shut the door.

Hermione watched as a woman of around 30 leaned against the doors and rolled her eyes, muttering under her breath. The woman proceeded to walk away from the door and actually passed Hermione, before she let out a muffled gasp and whipped around, staring at her new guest.

\"Merlin\'s beard child! You nearly scared me to death! What are you doing sitting there all quiet like? Are you hurt?\" she asked.

Hermione looked at her wearily, she felt very tired even though she had just recently woken up. \"I hurt my head, I think I fell,\" she said quietly.

Poppy hurried over, her wand already out and started examining the area Hermione pointed out to her. \"Well you do have a nasty knot there dear, but what do you mean you \'think\' you fell?\"

Hermione frowned, how did she fall? \"I don\'t remember,\" she said truthfully.

Poppy looked the girl over slowly then, making Hermione a bit nervous. \"Who are you? I don\'t ever remember seeing you before and you\'re obviously an older student. What\'s your name girl?\" she asked.

Hermione tilted her head up a little to look the nurse in her face, she opened her mouth to tell her when it actually hit her. She had no idea who she was. She had no idea where she was. She had no idea of anything! She must have looked panicked because the nurse woman seemed to start petting on her and telling her it was alright.

Hermione looked at her wide eyed, \"I can\'t remember who I am. I can\'t remember where I\'m at, or why I\'m here. I woke up in a bathroom to some ghost crying and yelling at me,\" she said in a rush.

The nurse looked a little wide eyed herself at Hermione\'s revelation, but kept it to herself, \"It\'s alright dear, I\'m sure you just bumped your head hard enough that you are just a little frazzled. That\'s all dear, nothing to worry about. It\'ll all come back to you in a few minutes I\'m sure,\" the nurse said. Hermione thought that she was saying that to convince herself and not her patient.

\"Why don\'t you lie down and I\'ll get you some potion to help your head and to let you sleep,\" she called over her shoulder, already mixing the potions together. Hermione did as she instructed, actually relieved that she felt a little better when she wasn\'t moving her head. She worried that she should be a bit more concerned about not remembering her own identity, but at the moment everything was getting fuzzy again, and it just didn\'t seem to matter that much anymore.

Poppy came back with the two potions, one a dark color that smelled of cinnamon, and another that was a light brown and reminded Hermione a little too much of dirt. She drank the brown one first, grimacing at the taste. It didn\'t just look like dirt, it tasted like it too. She then drank the other one, which was a little strong with cinnamon, but a vast improvement over the first.

Hermione immediately began to feel drowsy in a different way. This one was pulling her under, unlike her past fatigue that had just seemed to tug at her every now and then. Hermione fell fast asleep and didn\'t know that the nurse was already leaving the infirmary, intent on going to the Headmaster\'s office. Poppy knew for a fact now that the girl sleeping on one of her beds, was not a Hogwarts student. It was dangerous times and she couldn\'t risk an intruder in the school, none of them could. She sealed the doors shut and hurried to go see Albus.
