Anywhere

A/N: Please, please, please forgive me for this... First one shot POV and it\'s kind of short. You\'ll probably hate it but I\'d thought I\'d give it a go anyway. It\'s a bit chopy, had no Beta. Might re-edit at a later date.

I hold her tight against me, her sweet pale face against my chest as we lie together waiting... Her brown eyes so full of warmth and love for me search my own and I find vision blurring slightly as the tears I have forced back for so long, fall freely from my eyes. She raises her lips towards my cheeks to kiss away the salty tracks brushing her soft lips against my eye lids as she tries to sooth me. We have no need to talk now. We have said all we will ever need to say, said goodbye to those we love... though they will not know it until morning light finds us. I pray they understand. She needs me to be with her, I couldn’t leave her not even in death... Nothing and no-one will take my Hermione away from me. We will rise together to wherever the next life takes us. She is my soul mate, she makes me whole and I can’t survive without her. She understands me like no other could... she understands....

I smile. Such a simple pleasure I find in her embrace.

“My Hermione” I murmur into her curls savouring her sent and the texture of the soft ringlets against my skin.

“I love you” She kisses me passionately her delicious hot tongue teasing my own as we kiss deeply, Our final silent goodbye... we hold each other tight.

“I love you too” I murmur as she sinks back to nuzzle my chest.

The only light in the room comes from the window on the far wall of my... no our... defiantly our, room. We watch silently as cold blues fade into hot pinks and warm oranges as the sun begins to rise.

“It’s going to be a beautiful day” she sighs watching the peaceful dawn of a new morning...our last

I can only kiss her in reply...

“Severus” she whimpers slightly, a flicker of pain across her face as the tumour inflicts the last pain it shall ever cause her... us even...

“It’s ok Hermione. I’m here, I’m with you, and I love you” I hold her tight to me, crying silently for her.

Feeling the inevitable drowsiness I gather her to me and fight to stay with her until she slips into her final slumber. Bird song sings its farewell.

When the sun finally rose above the skyline and its cold light touched the room and the lovers, a series of mournful cries filled the castle.

The distressed Headmaster burst into the room followed by McGonagall, Madame Pomfrey and a bewildered looking Harry and Ron,

He ran to the bed and let out a cry of anguish.

“Headmaster?” Madame Pomfrey gasped

“Enervate!” The headmaster shouted pointing his wand at Hermione and Severus each in turn.

McGonagall gasped and held Harry and Ron back.

“Enervate!” Dumbledore cried again. “Enervate...” He stood sobbing finally.


“Mione?” Ron called quietly

“Oh ‘mione no!” He broke free from McGonagall’s grasp and ran to the bed, quickly followed by Harry.

Dumbledore kneeled besides the bed tears flooding his eyes as her gazed at the lovers in their eternal slumber. No one present had ever seen him so distraught.

“Why?!” cried Ron as he clung to Harry who stood in shock.

“Why?” Ron broke down in Harry’s arms.

Morning sang its lament and the castle mourned. Hogwarts whispered goodbye as two souls free of pain rose to begin new beginnings...together.

A/N: Ok I don’t agree with suicide and I really hope this doesn’t offend anyone! It really just wrote itself as I listened to the song. I hope you like it it’s my first POV and it was a spur of the moment, written in five minutes type thing. Oh and if you ever feel like you want or need to do what Severus and Hermione did here please, please, PLEASE talk to someone, call Samaritans, call anybody! Life is to precious a thing to be wasted. Hope you can forgive me for this piece
