Interventions

Disclaimer: I don\'t own Harry Potter or any of the recognizable characters. I am making no money on this story and only write for my own amusement.

Author\'s Note: The original characters are old RPG characters that I used to play. Dimensional theory that I\'m using was pioneered by Robert Heinlein in the novel \"Number of the Beast.\" It\'s a great read.

(Opening scene a large board room table in a wood panelled board room)

\"Chairwoman Corey\" a blue-haired lady said as she came into the room. \"We\'ve found a dimension where the other side has been active.\"

\"Okay.\" The red-haired lady sitting at the head of the table trying to run a meeting said in a distracted manner. \"What kind of dimension. What kind of activity. Be specific woman.\"

\"It is a very large book-based dimension.\" She said. \"It\'s extremely magically active. There was a Dark-Lord who had become disembodied. The other side showed him how to get his body back nearly 10 years early. Psychics predict mass deaths and worse if we don\'t intervene ourselves.\"

\"Bring me the books so that I can get the base-line way the dimension was supposed to develop.\" Corey said. \"We\'ll see what we need to do in order to deal with this.\"

(Several Days Later at the Burrow Young Percy Weasely walks in carrying a gorgeous persian kitten.)

\"Mum look what someone traded me for Scabbers.\" Percy said.

\"You mean they gave you the kitten and took the rat in trade?\" Molly asked. \"What did this person look like?\"

\"She was a pretty woman.\" Percy said. \"She had brown almond shaped eyes and blue hair.\"

\"Well,\" Molly said. \"Lets see the kitten.\"

Percy handed the small cat over.

Molly used her wand to give the cat the once over. She found there were no curses. That it wasn\'t a transfigured of any sort. There were a couple of protection charms, but there was nothing to harm anyone and it would protect the person the kitten bonded to. It had a collar. Molly looked closer and there was a small phoenix charm on the collar.

\"Okay.\" Molly said. \"You can keep the kitten.\"

(1 Hour later in Albus Dumbledore\'s office)

Albus had just walked into the office when he noticed a shoebox on his desk. Walking over he noticed a note pinned to the box.

To Albus Dumbledore we give greetings.

Inside the box is a person thought dead for the last several years. He is a Rat animagus. The person who supposedly killed him was put into prison without a trial. You will find that not only did Sirius Black not kill the Rat, but the Rat was the person who killed the muggles and was the Secret Keeper to Lily and James Potter. I beg you to work on getting the young man released so that he can take his responsibility to his Godson who is in dire straights right now.

Curious about the note, Albus cast several charms and found a stasis charm on the interior of the box. He took the lid off the box and undid the charms holding the rat in place. He then suspended the rat in midair and caused him to take his true form.

\"Hello Headmaster.\" Peter Pettigrew said. \"This isn\'t what you think it is.\"

\"What is it then Peter?\" Albus said, disappointed in one of his favorite ex-students. \"Are the charges in this note correct?\"

\"Absolutely not.\" Peter said.

\"Then you won\'t mind if we verify this with Veritaserum?\" Albus said.

\"NO!\" Peter said. \"I\'m afraid I\'m allergic to the stuff.\"

\"We can deal with the Hystemic reaction.\"

Sirius Black stayed in his animagus form mostly. Dementors, it seemed, couldn\'t affect him. It was a normal day when he heard someone working the locks on his door. He quickly resumed human form and lounged on his bed.

\"Mr. Black?\" A voice spoke from the hallway. \"We\'ve come to release you. Peter Pettigrew was captured and questioned. You\'ve been set free.\"

Sirius was on his feet and standing at the door immediately. When he found it was Minister Fudge himself who came for him the first words out of his mouth was to ask for custody of Harry.

\"The Paperwork is already in the works.\" Minister fudge said.

R. J. Lupin was recovering from the last full moon. Unfortunately, he had to go to the store to replenish his food stores. On the way down the country lane leading to his lonely cottage he didn\'t see the two people who were behind the trees on either side of the road. He didn\'t sense their presense until he\'d been stunned.

He woke up in St. Mungo\'s Hospital. He was just looking around when a person in Healer\'s robes came in with Allistair Moody.

\"Mr. Lupin,\" Moody said. \"Did you happen to see who it was that accosted you?\"

\"Not enough to identify.\" Remus said. \"I didn\'t even smell them until they attacked.\"

\"They were kind enough to leave you on the floor just inside St. Mungos.\" The healer said. \"Pinned to your robes was the recipe for a potion. We believe that it will cure your Lycanthropy. We would give you a large fee to act as a human experimental subject.\"

\"If it can cure me,\" Remus said, \"I\'ll do it for free.\"

It had been a busy day for Allistair Moody. He\'d just made it home from St. Mungo\'s when he received an owl that told him to go the London Mansion of Lucius Malfoy. When he got there his partner told him what was going on.

\"We were come for by a distraught House Elf. It seems that the Malfoy\'s young son had lain down for a nap and when he got up he found his parents dead. He called the house elf and asked him to come get us. I\'m afraid that there may be some Trauma.\"

\"Does he have any close Relatives?\" Moody asked.

\"Well, his closest relative that is not on the run from the law was recently released from Azkaban for a crime he didn\'t commit.\"

\"Sirius Black.\" Moody said. \"I know him and the Potter kid that he recently took in. I guess young Mr. Malfoy will soon have a foster brother.\"

A red haired witch walked into the Gringotts branch in Diagon Alley. Walking up to the head teller, she produced some paperwork and handed it to him. The Bank teller quickly left and came back minutes later.

\"I hear you wish to deposit a LARGE amount of gold in the vault of one of our depositors.\" A surly goblin said as he walked up.

\"Yes.\" The witch said. \"I am the chairwoman of a large corporation. We\'ve been working on a wizarding Lottery system in house. We\'ve determined that this years award should go to Arthur Weasely and family. We don\'t ask for access to the vault, just for you to deposit it. As we don\'t have a large amount of Galleons, we hope you don\'t mind exchanging gold bars for us and entering them into the vault. For a proper EXCHANGE fee of course.\"

The goblins eyes lit with greed. \"Very well.\"

Daytripper handed the goblin a bag.

\"This is enchanted to carry the gold. In all there is roughly 2 tons of gold. I figure an exchange rate of 2 Galleons for our Winners and 1 Galleon for the bank out of every three made should be good enough?\"
