Summary: It’s Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts and he now has another rival other than Draco Malfoy. But which one should he trust? And who or what keeps attacking the other students.
Disclaimer: This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoast Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. No money is being made and no copyright or trademark infringement is intended. Sadly all I got is Damien Evil and a great imagination.
A/N I didn’t like the first chapter much, so I have updated it. I removed the recap, though there is a point to it but I found that it was to long and a bit boring to read. I have also added more story as well as some changes. Thanks for the reviews and keep up the work.
HARRY POTTER AND THE NEW TRANSFER
CHAPTER I
THE DURSLEYS
It was a typical hot summers day in the small town of Little Whinging. The sun was shining in through the window of the smallest bedroom at Number 4 Privet Drive.
Harry Potter lay on his bed deep in thought.
He had only been back from Hogwarts for a couple of days, yet he was already missing it. He missed spending time with his two best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. He hated the fact that he couldn’t do any magic until he returned to Hogwarts in the fall. He even missed the stupid things like Professor Snape making his life hell in potions class and his rival Draco Malfoy always trying to out do him at everything.
Harry sat up suddenly remembering that he was to keep in touch with the Order of the Phoenix to let them know how he was and that the Dursley’s where not mistreating him. He decided to send the letter to Remus Lupin as he was Harry’s favourite member of the Order
He grabbed a piece of parchment from his dresser and began to write,
Dear Remus,
Just writing to let you know that I’m keeping well.
The Dusrley’s have been treating me better. It’s kind of scary. Well Dudley just ignores me most of the time, but that’s an improvement. Uncle Vernon grunts every time I enter a room or open my mouth, but yet again this is an improvement. Aunt Petunia on the other hand has been really nice to me. I think that she is just scared that Tonks will show up at the door, what would the neighbours think. At meal times I’m offered seconds, Aunt Petunia keeps telling me that a growing boy needs his food. Dudley is not too happy about this though, as he is still only getting salads. This is probably why he is rarely home at meal times. He keeps telling Aunt Petunia that he has salads when he eats over at a friends but it’s hard to believe when he just keeps getting fatter.
I’ve seen Mrs Figg pass a couple of times when I’ve been out in the garden. I think I might get her a new pair of slippers for Christmas, as I really hate those tartan ones that she always wears. I guess that the Order is still watching me.
I can’t wait to get back to Hogwarts, being here is like being away from home.
Hope to hear from you soon
Harry
Harry read over the letter then turned to his snowy white owl, Hedwig.
“I’ve got a letter here, are you up for the journey,” he said.
Hedwig hooted softly, then took flight. She circled the room twice to stretch her wings and then settled onto Harry’s shoulder. Harry gave Hedwig an owl treat and then said “I want you to deliver this to Lupin, you should find him at Number 12 Grimmauld Place.”
Hedwig took the letter in her beak and flew out Harry’s open bedroom window.
Harry then removed a clean pair of blue faded jeans and an overgrown blue t-shirt from his dresser and got dressed before going down to lunch.

“Was that your ruddy owl I saw earlier,” said Uncle Vernon peering over his morning paper at Harry.
“Yes, I had to send a letter to those scary people that you met at the train station, just to let them know that I’m ok, we don’t want them turning up at the door now, do we.” Harry replied. Sitting down at the kitchen table opposite his uncle.
Vernon gave a grunt and went back to reading his paper.
Aunt Petunia set a plate of bacon and eggs down in front of Harry then took up the seat next to him. Harry immediately began scoffing down his breakfast.
As Harry finished his breakfast, he turned to his Aunt,
“Where’s Dudley?” he asked, though he wasn’t surprised at the answer.
“Away out, you know Diddy, he likes to spend the summer out with his friends. Anyway the exercise will do him good.” Came the reply.
Ignoring the grunt that sounded from Vernon, Aunt Petunia continued “So what are your plans for today, sweetheart?”
Aunt Petunia had taken to calling Harry “sweetheart” since he had returned from Hogwarts. This really creeped him out and it didn’t get any better the more he heard it.
Harry suddenly wanted to be anywhere but in the kitchen with the Dursley’s. He preferred them to be shouting at him, compared to this.
“I was thinking that I might go for a walk,” Harry said.
“Well, do be careful, we wouldn’t want anything happening to you now,” Petunia said as Harry got up to leave.
Vernon gave another grunt
Before leaving the kitchen Harry turned to his Uncle Vernon and said, “would you like me to fetch you a glass of water, it might help cure these groans that keep coming from you.”
At this Vernon threw his paper down on the table and stood to face Harry, but before he could say anything, Petunia spoke “oh darling do sit down,” she said, “Harry was just joking.”
Harry left the Dursley’s house that morning in a much better mood than he had been in for a long time. He loved annoying his Uncle Vernon now that there was nothing he could do about it.
X-X-X-X-X
Harry had been walking with no thought to where he was going; yet an hour later he found himself sitting on the hill overlooking Little Whinging.
Over the past couple of days Harry had become rather fond of this spot. He could just sit here looking down on the town, untouchable.
He closed his eyes and lay back on the warm grass wondering when he would hear from Lupin, he couldn’t wait to get back to the wizarding world, at least there he felt like he fit in.
Harry had been lying there for what must have been about three hours when he suddenly felt the presence of someone beside him. He lay there with eyes closed, not wanting to make contact with this stranger. He didn’t feel as if he was in any danger, yet he did not want to be disturbed.
After a few seconds the stranger sat down next to Harry and spoke “you know you remind me a bit of myself, I never liked to do as I was told either.”
“What do you mean?” said Harry, still not looking at the person sitting next to him. Though he recognized the voice instantly.
“Well when I was at Hogwarts, I was always getting into trouble for rule breaking and here you are sitting up here after you where to told not to leave the Dursley’s.” Came the reply.
Harry could suddenly feel his temper rising. He sat up and turned to face the young woman next to him. “What do you expect, there’s nothing to do there, they don’t like me, yet Aunt Petunia is being really nice to me and it’s a bit creepy, worst of all, I have no friends here, as far as I know, there at Grimmauld Place, though I haven’t heard from either of them.”
“They’re not at Grimmauld Place, but if you want I can let them know that you would like to hear from them.”
“I’m sorry Tonks.” Harry said, “I know that its not your fault that I’m stuck here, and I would appreciate if you could do that”
Tonks turned to Harry, brushing her green fringe out of her eyes. “It’s ok, you’re handling it much better than I would have. How are you anyway?”
“Well I’m doing the best I can, I mean Sirius is gone and he isn’t coming back, I’ve come to accept that but it doesn’t make it any easier. Then there’s Dumbledore who never tells me anything, and it’s starting to piss me off. Though, what I want to know is why did he not kill Voldemort when he had the chance at the Ministry of Magic?”
“That is a question that I can’t answer,” replied Tonks.
Harry lay back down on the grass in silence.
“Harry,” said Tonks “I have good news for you but you must promise not to tell anyone.”
Harry did not say anything to this but Tonks continued anyway. “Well Kreacher has not been seen in over a week and there is nothing to keep him at Grimmauld Place any longer. So we think that he may have left, which means that it may not be as safe as it once was.”
“And this is meant to be good news” Harry said, still lying on the grass.
“I’m getting to the good news,” said Tonks “It means that it’s not safe for you to go to Grimmauld Place this summer so instead you will be going to The Burrow.”
“That’s great, when am I going.” He said a little more excitedly than he expected to sound.
“Now it’s meant to be a surprise so you can’t let on that you know but you will probably be going this weekend. Now come on, you better get off home as it’s starting to get late.”
X-X-X-X-X
Harry had barely set foot in the house when Uncle Vernon started shouting at him “Dudley said he saw you with one of them freaks from the train station, we have treated you well so what the hell are they doing round here?”
“Dudley needs to learn to keep his mouth shut,” came Harry’s reply.
“You will not speak about Dudley like that in this house, ever,” yelled Vernon.
Harry could not believe that Uncle Vernon had the audacity to speak to him in that manner. Then a smile started to spread across Harry’s face.
“What the hell are you smiling at boy,” Vernon said with a sneer.
“Shut the fuck up and listen,” Harry said in a calm voice “If you ever speak to me in that tone again you will live to regret it. Would you really like a visit from my friends? You know, the ones that you met at the train station.”
At this Uncle Vernon’s eyes moved from Harry to the floor.
“Now I am going up to my room and I don’t want to be disturbed, understood,” at this Harry turned and headed up to his room.
As Harry entered his room he fell down on his bed in a fit of laughter. The look on his Uncle’s face was priceless.
When Harry had recovered he sat up and glanced round his bedroom. His eyes where instantly drawn to his dresser where he saw a letter that hadn’t been there when he left earlier that day. He went over to his dresser, noticing on his way that Hedwig had not returned. He looked down at the envelope, addressed only HARRY; he recognized the writing yet he couldn’t work out who it belonged to.
Harry opened the letter,
Dear Harry,
I would like to apologize for my previous comments that I made about you and Dumbledore. I made these comments as Cornelius Fudge had us all believing that “He Who Shall Not Be Named” had not returned and that you where just wanting attention. I believed you all along but I could not say anything, as I did not want to lose my position within The Ministry Of Magic. I have returned to The Burrow and look forward to seeing you when you arrive.
Percy Weasley
Harry looked over the letter not believing what he had just read. Percy Weasley actually apologizing. Maybe he had apologized but Harry still didn’t trust him and certainly did not want to see him when he went to The Burrow. Though for the rest of the Weasley’s he would try and get along with Percy.
Harry thought that it would be polite to send a reply to Percy but before he could reach for his parchment he was interrupted by a sound over by the window. He turned to see Hedwig sitting on the ledge.
“Hey girl, that was quick,” he said, noticing that she had returned with a letter.
Hedwig gave a hoot and flew over to Harry. She sat down on the dresser and Harry took the letter from her beak.
“Sorry girl but I’m out of treats,” he said “you will have to go and find your own.”
Hedwig gave a disgruntled hoot and flew out the open bedroom window.
Harry sat down on his bed to read the letter that he had just received:
Dear Harry,
I know that it can’t be easy for you; I thought you would be glad that you where being treated a bit better. Though you’re Aunt does sound rather creepy. However I do have good news for you, you will be spending the rest of the summer at The Burrow with the Weasley’s. Molly happens to be in a very happy mood at the moment as all the family will be there.
I’m not sure exactly how you will be getting there, but I do know that you will be going within the next couple of days.
I will try and visit you when you get there.
See you soon.

X-X-X-X-X
It was late Sunday afternoon and Harry found himself lying topless in the back garden soaking up the sun. Since hearing from Lupin all he had done was spend his time in the garden, hoping that the days would pass quicker if he couldn’t see the time.
He hadn’t yet heard from anyone and the weekend was nearly over.
I hope they haven’t forgotten about me, Harry thought to himself.
But just at that thought Uncle Vernon burst out through the back door. “Harry it’s the phone for you,” he said with a grunt.
“Who is it?” asked Harry.
“How the bloody hell should I know, and get your top on” came the reply.
As Harry passed Vernon, he turned to him and said “I’ve warned you about your attitude towards me.”
As Harry picked up the phone in the hall he could hear his uncle slam the back door behind him.
“Hello,” said Harry.
“Hi mate,” was the reply.
“Hi Ron”
“My dad is on his way to pick you up, he forgot to let you know,” Ron said.
“How long will he be? I haven’t packed or,” but before Harry could finish his sentence the doorbell went followed by a loud banging.
“What the hell was that?” came Vernon’s voice from the sitting room.
“He should…” but Harry cut off Ron. “I think he is here Ron, I better go, will see you soon,” said Harry hanging up before Ron could respond.
“I’m here to collect Harry,” came Arthur Weasley’s voice from the front door, Vernon had eventually got up off his fat arse and answered the door.
“What the hell are you playing at banging and continually ringing the bell?” yelled Vernon.
“Well I had to get your attention and I wasn’t just going to walk in,” said Arthur “just of interest, what bell?” he continued.
“The bloody door bell,” came Vernon’s reply.
“Do stop shouting and let him in before the neighbours see,” came Petunia’s voice from upstairs.
Vernon looked appalled at the thought of letting the red headed weirdo step foot in his house “No I will not, now Harry get your stuff and get going,” he said.
“I can’t, I’ve not packed yet and I’ll need help carrying my trunk.”
“Oh let the nice gentleman in to help Harry pack,” Petunia said brushing past Vernon.
“But, but, but,” spluttered Vernon.
Petunia dropped her voice to a whisper thinking that Harry could not hear “but nothing darling, the quicker we let him in to help Harry, the quicker we get rid of the brat,” she then turned to Harry and in her sickly sweet voice said “Now run along Harry and pack your stuff.”
Harry thanked his Aunt and took Arthur up to his bedroom to help him pack.
“Rather weird aren’t they,” said Arthur once in the safety of Harry’s bedroom.
This caused Harry to chuckle to himself.
“We better get a move on, I don’t think that they are too happy about me being here,” and with a swoosh of his wand; Harry’s belongings flew into his trunk.
“We can’t do that,” Harry said as Arthur cast Locomotor trunk. “The muggles might see and they aren’t used to seeing trunks floating in mid air, we will have to carry it.”
Harry and Arthur had carried the trunk down the stairs and put it in the car, which Arthur had borrowed from the ministry, when Harry suddenly remembered Hedwig.
“What am I going to do about Hedwig?” he said, “She went out last night and has not returned yet.”
“Not to worry Harry, she turned up safe and well at The Burrow this morning. Now we better get going if we want to make it there by dinnertime.”

A/N I know that there is a lot of people reading my story but not reviewing, it would be appreciated if you leave a short review letting me know what you are liking or disliking. Thanks. And let me know if I ever leave lose ends and I will clear them up for you.
I have to go over my chapters about 3 or 4 times before I like it so it may take a little longer than I like to post but reviews will encourage me to get my finger out.
