Till Death do us part, or not?
Chapter 1
Softly she murmurs to the trees that stand before her. She was here on a mission, on a quest. She did not know why she had answered his needs but she knew that the fight would soon move into her grounds and kindle a new fire in her people. Her people, she mussed, she learned long ago they were there own. Her people no longer existed. She was one off the last full bloods, most left now where half breeds. But all were hunted down ruthlessly, that was for some a fate worth, for others a punishment undeserved. Not many were fit for living this world, they thought that they were superior and could take what they wanted. How wrong they were, in the end they were hunted down and showed a true death. Not the one they had been living now. But sadly the true ones off her kind, the one’s that upheld the old codes were hunted down as well. And mistakes were made; she hoped deeply that this fight would once again unite the two sides and that the hunting would be left to her and the few that remained in secrecy.
Soundlessly she stepped into the woods, crossing young wolves she knew would be on her side upon her request. Many creatures lived in this forest, some bad some even worse. But some would be persuaded to fight the upcoming battle, this she knew, felt even. She remained silent as she crossed a path leading deeper into the forest. She needed to leave it not go in deeper she thought as the leaves began to rustle around her. Quickly she scanned the ways round but found herself utterly alone. Raising an eyebrow in confusion she saw hoof patterns and a shadow passing her. “Come out come out, who ever you are” she murmured as a man’s voice rang thundering in her ears.
“No living man may enter this forest!”
“Well lucky for you, I am neither man nor living” she spat.
A confused looking centaur showed itself as she looked upon it weirdly. “My, my never thought a young centaur would cross the path off a Vampire” she smiled when she saw who it was. “Protecting Hogwarts Firenze?”
“Angel what on earth are you doing here?”
“Albus Dumbledore requested my presence.”
“Is that so?”
“That it is, now if you will excuse me, you know how I hate to be late.”
“Alright Miss Dean, good luck.”
“No problem Firenze we are on the same side.”
“For today” he murmured never quite learning to trust Angel.
She quirked her eyebrow at his comment but decided not to ask any questions she was already late as it was, and she had been truthful when she said she hated to be late.
Working her way out off the forest she had some difficulties getting to the castle. An overly happy boarhound jumped up to her taking in her scent as a half giant tried to hold it back. She giggled as he shook her hand and walked off towards a small cabeen on the grounds. Does he even fit in there she wondered as she walked up to the great doors of Hogwarts. Standing mesmerized for a few minutes the doors opened and a group off young students walked outside greeting her friendly and making there way to the cabeen. She watched them as they passed by, the group seemed to be divided into two smaller groups, one obviously lead by a blond boy and the other seemed to be chaperoned by three students, one brown frizzy haired girl and two boys, one with red hair and one with messy light brown hair and a awful looking scar. That must hurt she thought as she looked at them, fascinated by their movements and comments towards each other.
Somewhere in the castle two dark coal eyes scanned her, taking her in completely, memorizing every little detail. He thrust his black hair out off his face as he wonders who on earth she is, why does she capture him so much. What is it about her that makes him keep looking, wanting? The soft murmurs off voices grow louder as his next class enters his classroom. “Well what the hell are you waiting for, a written invitation? Come in and sit down” he spats at the students. “Take out your cauldrons and make the potion as it is written on the board. And for you sakes do it good because you will test it on your partners as off next class.” He stares them down just long enough to bring them to a state of fear that will ensure a quiet class before looking back out the window, only to find that this object off pure fascination is gone.
Angel walks trough the great hall smiling at everything she sees. She was a wizard once and had been in more than one school for gifted children. But never one as great as this, as beautiful even. Something inside her wanted that she had been here, maybe than could her change have been prevented. Even though it was her destiny she had never wanted it. She was born a human, as all Full blood Vampires had been. Both her mother and Father had been pure bloods and she had grown up in a shelter for gifted children. On her eleventh birthday she had gotten a strange but formal looking letter telling her she had been accepted to Plantus school voor tovenaarij en hekserij. (Translation: Plantus School for witchcraft and wizardry.) It was a Dutch and very small school but she loved it there none the less. Very soon however she was transported to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and then to the Durmstrang Institute for her special powers. She had been so easy at languages that the difference off the schools had been no problem. However none could deal with her kind off magic, and they could only teach her theirs in which she then preformed brilliantly with out a wand. All had heard off wand less magic, but never to an extend as powerful as hers and that had always left her as an outcast. She had been masterly at potions and dark arts which left her under suspicion, how could such a young witch be so powerful of her own? To her it had never been more than a thought until she turned 26 and had a fatal accident. She had died a most awful death in the hospital and had woken up in a mortuary, scarred and alone. Or so she thought, a man and a woman both so beautiful it blinded her walked up claiming to be her parents. She had many questions and was left with as many when they left. They told her exactly who and what she was and had always destined to be. They had never expected her to also be a witch however, and could give her no answer to her questions about her past. They told her they were the last and they had spent a life time running, never knowing the answers to those questions themselves. She quickly found out what they meant as she saw her parents being slaughter before her eyes and she had to run to stay alive. In the beginning she was utterly lost but she found that there were some similar to her, they kept her safe and taught her. And even though her parents were wrongly punished, she never blamed the hunters known as the Vampire Slayers because they did the same as she had always done. They were fighting for their lives.
Softly she murmured the password to the gargoyle standing before her and it started to twist and turn as a stair began to appear. She quickly stepped upon it and it took her to a higher level where a small door was the entrance into a bigger room. She knocked upon it as a voice called her in.
“Ah Angel Dean my dear child, how are you?”
“I am fine thank you Professor Dumbledore, now if you do not mind I wish to come to business.”
“Alright, lemon drop” he smiled at her.
She raised an eyebrow and thanked him popping it in her mouth. Surprised she choked upon its taste, “its sour” she murmured.
“Of course it is a lemon drop” he almost giggled.
“No” she said confused “I mean I taste it, I actually taste the sourness and yet the sweetness” she almost could not stop herself from jumping up and down, she had not tasted in ages, yes blood but that was because it brought her life, not really taste. But this, this was amazing.
“Ah yes the power off magical sweets” Albus smiled, “then I must ask you to stay around for a while, all food here is magically prepared so you shall be able to taste all off it.”
A fire sprang in her eyes as he said this, “I would be happy to stay” she said “if there is more off this, I have missed it so dearly.”
“I understand my child I shall prepare a room for you immediately, will the guest room in the Dungeons be any problem.”
“Dungeons” she asked him eying him as if he had sprouted wings
“Yes my dear, the potions classes are held in the dungeons and it is also the residence of the Potions Master Professor Snape.”
“Oh” she said letting out a breath she did not know she had been holding. “That will be fine thank you Professor Dumbledore.”
“I do have one question though…”
“Yes Professor?”
“As for your uhm let us say elixir of life, how do you normally take it?”
For a moment she had to ponder his question when it hit her what he meant, “ohw” she started giggling, “you mean my drinking blood, I usually buy it at the butchers shop I never drink it from a human or animal that is still alive. I can take that in my quarters so not to upset your students, I always have some with me, but if I run out I am sure I will find a butchers shop nearby.”
“Very good he smiled very good indeed. Then as you please we shall talk about why I asked you here.”
“Alright” she said still smiling at this truly great man before her.
As he began his face was overclouded by sadness, he told her the war had taken many of his friends and that he was weary of fighting. Severus Snape their spy had been caught by Voldemort for spying and it had almost cost him his life. He still bared the marks off it, they would never leave him. This however meant that there was no longer some one on the inside and they no longer knew what Voldemort had been planning. Young Harry Potter having a key role in the battle had started to lose hope and was no longer capable of blocking off his mind giving Voldemort access to what was happening on their side. And the ministry had retreated themselves to safer grounds leaving their world open and vulnerable to attacks. Angel was never heard off until a Vampire caught on the grounds had been forced to take Veritaserum because they felt it suspicious for him to come out in the open. He had indeed been in league with Voldemort and had been there to attack young Harry and turn him so that his mind would be clouded enough to be persuaded to join the dark side. He also blurted out that there was one person left who could be Voldemort’s equal, who could even be stronger. She resided on both sides; she was both Vampire and Witch. Both off Full blooded families, her mother had been a squib but had never known it; they never knew the full heritage off the vWijngaarden/Dean line. One holding full bl0od wizards and the other full blood Vampires, strong and never falling they kept both lines apart until her mother and father met and their love so real made a bond stronger than anything in the world combeened. “That bond was you Angel, a young girl born into a dying world.”
Thinking she raised an eyebrow, “so if I get this right I am both a full blood Witch and Vampire?”
“Indeed you are miss Dean”, Dumbledore said with out looking up. “Indeed you are.”
She stared at him with interest, “but my mother was a Vampire?”
“That is true she begged your father to make her his because she wanted to be with him always. That made the first link to strengthen the bond. In her mind she made a wish off love and united herself with another world. With out her knowing it this wish had been a spell she cast over herself and her lover, the effects off the spell visible in their child, you. If she had not cast that spell you would have never become a Witch and your powers would lie dormant, until the hour before your true death.”
“Uhm normal death, or Vampire one?”
“With your true death I mean the one you will never wake from.”
“Ah” she said as she looked at him once again seeing his face clouded with emotions. “But if I am the one equal to Voldemort then why has he not come to me?”
“He does not know, a Vampires mind is unreadable. The ones that are gifted enough use a form of mind reading on others to see their thoughts and memories, it is called Legilimency Professor Snape is a man so gifted he can handle this magic and by his own words he once said *The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are not etched on the inside of skulls, to be perused by any invader. The mind is a complex and many-layered thing... It is true, however, that those who have mastered Legilimency are able, under certain conditions, to delve into the minds of their victims and to interpret their findings correctly. It is an obscure branch of magic, but a highly useful one.* Occlumency how ever is the counter part of this magic. With it you are able to block your mind from intruders, Young Harry was learning this magic but because he has given up he is no longer able to maintain his blockades there for leaving his mind open to be probed. Voldemort is taking advantage off him. Because you are so strong on both sides you might be able to block him from Voldemort until he finds hope again.”
“I think I can help him with Occlumency, however with hope I do not think I can make a difference, I do not have much hope left in me, I have been on this world long enough to see its flaws and because of what I am people fear me greatly, Professor Dumbledore.”
“I understand this and with hope you do not have to help him, not only are his two best friends Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley helping him, Ron’s younger sister Ginny is fighting for him with all her might. I do not believe I have ever known such a young girl to hold such a powerful form off love.”
She smiled at this but her heart screamed something else, she had never known love, in her mortal years people ignored her or stayed away in fear off what she was and in her immortal years she had had the same problems. There were Vampires who were dying to sleep with her she knew this all to well. She had been given the natural beauty of her mother and the beauty off immortality, together this resulted in the purest form off beauty. Many desired her because off it, but none loved her. Not in a way she so badly needed, so greatly desired. Her stomach rumbled as darkness prevailed over the land and the candles were lit in the room. “One thing Professor, I have one question that still is not answered.”
“And that is Miss Dean?”
“Why am I a day walker, why am I able to withstand the sun when none off my kin are?”
“Because you are both a witch, and a full blood Vampire, full blooded Vampires were able to be a few hours in the sun before it took their lives. And the magic that resides in you protects you from it completely. You are quite lucky my dear, I do not believe I could ever live with out seeing the sun come up or being able to bathe in it.”
“ I am happy about it yes; sometimes being in the sun can clear your mind and make you free from al your problems.”
“That indeed” he smiled, “now if you will join me it is dinner time and I am quite hungry.”
Feeling another rush off happiness build up inside her she accepted the invitation and bobbed outside making a little jump. This conversation had left her with new questions but so many were answered that she left them float in her mind freely and for the first time in her life she had felt completely accepted because off whom she was. The fact that she was going to taste food again was a joyful side affect and one to never forget.
As she walked into the great hall once again, she found that its was packet with students off al ages and by the looks on their faces she suddenly felt like she was one off them again, Blushing she asked Professor Dumbledore where she was to be seated.
“Why over there on the high table” he pointed, “right next to Professor Snape.”
As she followed his finger over to the high table she was caught by the most amazing sight. Her breath caught in the back off her throat when she saw him. Black coal eyes, silk black hair and the shade off pale on his skin made her wonder if he ever saw the sun. But all together made him a sight she took in with great gulps as if she was drinking blood. For a moment she frowned when she saw his crocked nose but his eyes made her forget it was there. His long slender fingers made it shown he was truly a potions master. By the way he cut his meal she could see how gentle he was with potions ingredients and how gentle he could be when… she cut that trail off thoughts off just in time, because she knew she would turn fire red if she continued. She was frozen to the spot as if he had nailed her down to the stones, she felt like she would never be able to move again, breathe again, and live again if he not kissed her right now. God those fingers she murmured as she saw him move them around, how great it would be to have them…
“Angel, are you alright?”
Bedazzled she looked at Professor Dumbledore; by the look in his eyes he had been calling her name more than once. “Uhm yes Professor I am fine I was just lost in a thought when I put your words on Professor Snape into a picture.”
A suspicious twinkle came into Dumbledore’s as he realized the hidden message behind her words and he decided that if he could make the both happy he would do everything in his power to do so.
He dropped his fork as he saw her; she was looking him straight in the eye, she the object off his fascination just an hour before was here staring at him. Looking at him as he had looked at her, taking him in God he wanted to know her thoughts. Would she want him as bad as he wanted her, now that he saw her again he felt his groin stirring. He pulled his cloak tighter around him and pried his gaze away from her. He played with his food moving it around his plate as he felt her gaze undressing him. Unexpected she said hello to him. God when on earth did she get to stand next to me. Hello he heard himself say in a harsh tone, wait it was not supposed to come out like that you bastard he thought to himself. God am I so thickheaded that I can’t stare beauty in the face even when I fall over it, and falling I am he added as a side thought.
She followed Professor Dumbledore to the high table and stood next to Professor Snape, she smelled his musky scent and took a big breath to take it in deeper. “Hello” she heard herself whisper.
“Hello” he said back harshly but the slight movement in his posture, made her see that, that was not what he had intended to say. Smiling she sat down next to him and found her plate full off food. “Oh my” she exclaimed as she saw the amounts and looked over to Professor Dumbledore who was introducing her to the rest off the staff. Her eyes came to rest upon a weary and tired looking man, as he looked at her she knew what he was. He bowed slightly and made sure she knew, she was the boss. God how she hated that, she knew she had powers over werewolves but why on earth would they act as if they were born to be slaves off the Vampires? Quickly she stood up whispering something into Dumbledore’s ears and walking over to the young man. She eyed him as he seemed to quiver under her presence. “Please” she pleaded in a soft whisper, “do not fear me. I know what you are but do not think that I am here to make you do things you do not wish.” For a moment he seemed to have been thrown off his chair but then he looked straight in her eyes. “Then you are the first” he whispered back.
”I probably am and it does not mean I am trying to make up for all my people did to yours but I am truly sorry. And I shall never use you or any off your kind like that nor have I ever used your kin.”
“I know, I can see that you tell the truth, thank you.”
“You are welcome” she smiled, but her heart was still mad about all that had once happened. How her kind could have done that, she never knew.
God she doesn’t want me she wants Lupin, why else did she whisper to him so intimate, he hated himself for getting so caught up in her. When he smelled her oh god he was glad he had already pulled his cloak around him. And the way she yelped when the food appeared in front off her made him want to give himself entirely to her. He felt as if she had never tasted food and drink and he wanted to give all off it to her. Mad at himself he slammed his fork down thrusting his chair back and turning around facing the mess he had created.
Angel was hanging face down over his chair; it had been thrown into her stomach quit hard, so hard in fact that tears had sprung into her eyes, and she was now spluttering quiet curses. She managed to get her self straight again and looked into the face off Professor Snape, both anger and apologies mingled in his face. “Oh gods” she murmured to him “quite a thrust you got there”. She walked by him returning to her seat and her plate off food. He still stood in the same place when she smiled up at him tugging at his cloak, “why don’t you sit down Professor!?”
He was overpowered by the mere sight of it, oh god he had hurt her, he never wanted that. She was cursing softly as she pried herself off the chair, then she did something he never expected. She murmured to him in the most sensual voice “quite a thrust…” Did she oh god, how did she mean that his mind trailed off as he thought off all the ways he could thrust into her. Oh god he thought again. He was brought out off this trail off thoughts as something tugged on his cloak; he looked down at her smiling eyes and heard her asking him to sit back down. What else could he do then obey?
She licked her lips and dug into her plate off food consuming every taste, God what would he taste like, she thought as she looked to the man next to her. I should say something but what she pondered as she heard someone ask her, her name. That voice it took her completely off balance, so sensual, so different as the one he had said hello with. “God” she murmured out loud as she was trying to catch her breath.
“Your name is god” he asked looking at her with the most penetrating stare she had ever seen.
“No I uhm” she stammered as she felt herself being deeply aroused by his voice and eyes, oh those eyes and that stare. “My name is Angel Dean” she finally managed to get out off her throat.
“Professor Snape” he told her as of he was teaching her.
“Yes I have heard” she purred, “the Potions Master…”
“And how do you know that Miss Dean.”
My how formal she thought as she felt herself relax a bit. “Hmm well I talked to the headmaster.”
“Ah” he said in the most sensual way.
All control lost she mussed to herself again as she looked at him forgetting her food. She yelped as the dishes vanished and sweets replaced the main cores. Oh my sweets and him what a combeenation. She giggled as she thought off that and looked at him. “Uhm sorry Professor but that’s chocolate I haven’t had that in ages”. He smiled at her and she felt her knees go weak, am I happy that I am sitting she mussed.
“Of course Miss Dean go right ahead.”
“Yay” she giggled as she dove into the chocolate pudding.
He felt his heart shatter as she licked her lips, as he saw her eat as if she tasted it for the first time. He wondered what that tongue could do on his body, how it would feel like battling with his. All of a sudden he realized that he wanted to know her name, and asked her with all the control he could find. “God” did she say god, I that your name he blurted out before he could stop himself. “Uhm no Angel Dean” she stammered to him, he had caught her off balance could she be thinking along the same lines as he or was her mind with some one else. He did not care her name suited her, she truly was an Angel. He told her his name but she said she already knew. The Potions Master she said to him, but it was the way she said it, so sensual almost as if she purred it in his ears. He wondered h0w she knew that and could not stop him self from asking. Though when she told him she was with Dumbledore he could slap himself in the head, she walked in with him. “Ah” he purred back to her, he hoped it would not throw her off he knew he was not a handsome man and his voice had always brought fear in the hearts off the beholders and listeners. It seemed to have mesmerized her as she forgot her food and locked her eyes with his. He felt his knees buckle, god am I glad I am on a chair or what. She yelped as the food was replaced by dessert. He saw her eyes wander over the table stopping at the chocolate, her eyes grew bigger and she gave the most enticing smile he had ever seen. Her eyes snapped back at him as she giggled at something then she said it, “Uhm sorry Professor but that’s chocolate I haven’t had that in ages”. There it was he was made for her, she loved chocolate. The passion for the sweet rivaled his own, and as he saw the desire in her eyes he couldn’t help but smile. “Of course Miss Dean” he managed “go right ahead”. “Yay” she giggled, did she saw yay he wondered but all thoughts were driven from his mind as he saw her dive into the chocolate pudding. Slytherin he was he sneaked a spoon full off the delightful substance from under her nose and brushed his tongue over the spoon.
She gave him a daring look as he sneaked his spoon under her nose and took a bit off the pudding. When she realized just what he was doing with it she shivered with pleasure, my room 09:30 bring the Chocolate she thought but did not dare utter the words. Just as she wanted to make a remark, Professor Dumbledore stood up making the announcement that a guest would be staying at Hogwarts for a while then he told them her name was Angel Dean. Wow lucky girl she thought to herself… wait a minute that’s me she blushed as everyone looked at her expecting her to thank him and properly introduce herself. “Thank you Professor” she said turning crimson, “I uhm am happy to be here.”
“I can see that” he smiled at her “no lemon drop next time?”
“Uhm no” she smiled eying the spoon full of chocolate pudding still in her hand.
“Well now that we are all introduced I suggest you all go to your dormitories, Professor Snape would you be so kind as to guide her to her guest quarters. She shall be resigning in the dungeons guestroom.”
“Yes headmaster” he said falling back to his usual role.
“Did you see that” Ron asked his two friends?
“What” Harry said as he looked at his friend puzzled.
“Ow common Harry you can be so dense sometime” Hermione said smiling.
“They were so hitting on each other” Ron said again.
“Who were?”
“Snape and that girl Angel” Hermione answered the question for him as Ginny came walking up.
“Did you see that?”
“Yeah” Hermione smiled, “we did.”
Harry’s heart fluttered when he saw her. He would be the first to deny it but he was starting to have feelings for Ginny, she had become so beautiful over the years. He did not find it weird that he had not seen the hole Snape/Angel thing he had been to busy staring at Ginny.
The four off them walked to their dormitories when they crossed Snape and Angel deep in conversation in the halls and smiled when the saw Snape trying to hide a smile.
She giggled as he asked her, her age. Do you really want to know she wondered but said her age as it was before her current state. “I am 26” she said as she looked him deeply in the eyes; she wanted to kiss him but did not dare to let him know how bad she wanted him. She smiled as they said there goodbyes, though she felt sad that she had to leave him she had felt the thirst building up inside her and she knew she needed to feed. “I shall see you tomorrow” she asked him hopefully and smiled when she heard him say “of course Miss Dean”. “Angel” she whispered in his ears as she brushed by him touching him softly on his hand before opening her door. “Goodnight Professor till tomorrow then”, she said before closing it, and walking to the table filling a glass with blood and taking it in one gulp. Softly she let herself fall onto the bed and dreams came over her like waves crashing on a shore. Dreams off him…
She giggled when he asked her, her age. It caught him off guard, as if she was hiding something. But he could not read her mind, he realized now that he had not been able to so from the moment he stared her in the eyes. God she must be trained in Occlumency he realized, he knew few who always kept their guard up like that. He was one off those few, but the thought of other possibilities never crossed his mind. She was 26 that’s a beautiful age he thought, no knowledge of the worlds flaws yet. Flaws he knew so well, and then she asked him if she would see him tomorrow. “Of course” he answered truthfully. He would be happy to see her tomorrow. God he would even go to breakfast just to see her before classes started. That’s when it happened she touched him, she brushed by softly and for a moment caught his hand in hers, and then she whispered in his ears till tomorrow then and there it was she had caught him on her hook. He was a fish and she was the bate it made him hope dearly she would never let him go. He rushed to his private rooms and ran to the shower. God if he ever needed a cold shower it was now. He cursed himself for getting so strangled in this. “Snape in love” he murmured out loud, immediately realizing what he said he began to ponder, in love? He let himself fall to bed and curled up into his blankets. “In love” he whispered into the cold air. “I can’t be, can I?” “No” he said it’s definitely not love, just lust. His mind soon drifted off, he did not need a sleeping potion this night because he slept better than he had in a long time, there were dreams but he did not mind them because they were dreams of her…
Chapter 1
Softly she murmurs to the trees that stand before her. She was here on a mission, on a quest.
