A World Apart

The SGC was quieter than ever after the threat of the Goa\'uld seemed to have been irraticated several months before. After a final battle the remaining members of their race headed off into the far reaches of space and weren\'t heard from again as far as anyone knew. Everything was fine and calm when the sudden outburst of an alarm made Daniel jump in his seat behind his desk. It was the alarm sounded when something was wrong in the gate room, after a delayed pause of surprise he lept from his seat and ran down the corridors until he was at the gate room door. He burst through it seeing that Jack and Sam were already there and a worried General Hammond hovering over the monitors; Teal\'c came in behind Daniel in a sudden burst of the doors as well.
\"There\'s something wrong, someone\'s coming through only there isn\'t a reading on where they\'re coming from at all.\" General Hammond explained.
The guards down in the gate room were all on alert pointing their guns at the swirling gate, ready to shoot at anything hostile that came through. Only they were all taken by surprise when a younger looking woman tumbled through onto the floor. The gate closed behind her, but the guards didn\'t take their guns away just in case. Dr. Frasier ran down the the gate room floor accompanied by the rest of SG-1.
The young woman lying on the floor was obviously with child and in labor. She was clutching her rounded stomach with a pained expression scrunching her face. Her long ginger red hair was matted down to her head with sweat and her blue eyes were mostly closed. No one had time to ask any questions; Dr. Frasier pushed her onto a stretcher with some help from SG-1.
The four of them and General Hammond rushed the woman down to the infirmary where Dr. Frasier took charge telling the others to stay outside while she and another member of her medical staff handled delivering her baby. At least two hours passed before Dr. Frasier emerged with a small towel wrapped around something in her arms. A tiny leg was sticking out of the blanket moving around and Dr. Frasier was watching the infant with loving eyes.
\"Where\'s the mother?\" General Hammond questioned, but Dr. Frasier gave a solem shake of her head.
