Eye For An Eye

Lucius’ hand smoothly ran down Lupin’s bare chest, his fingers dipping into each of the leathery scars that slashed across the pale skin. “How are you feeling, Lupin?” he whispered. He peered deeply into Remus’ vacant hazel eyes as he trained his wand steadily at the naked man.

“I’m fine,” Remus replied in an equally vacant voice.

Lucius’ lips curled upwards into a twisted smile. “Good.” He watched how the man’s eyes stared unblinkingly at him, unfocused. It was so beautiful how one succumbed to the Imperius. The control and the power that it gave those who inflicted this Unforgivable was simply indescribable. Lucius Malfoy loved the Imperius curse. Oh, yes - much, much more than the Cruciatus curse or the Avada Kedavra. While there was much pleasure in watching another be crippled in agony and such incredible excitement in holding another’s life at wand point, controlling the mind and, thusly, the actions of another was so much more thrilling. “You’ve been very compliant,” he added mockingly.

The pallid light that emitted from the tip of the wand cast an eerie glow over Remus’ marked face. The shadows from the light caused the scars to look like deep canyons rather than shallow grooves. “Yes,” Lupin responded in a monotone voice.

Lucius was a man that thrived on control and power. It was his drive; it was like an insatiable thirst – he could never get enough. Everything he did centred around control – be that with money or with the most basic, yet most powerful tool, the mind. Lucius’ smile broadened to reveal his pearly white teeth, which shimmered in the wand’s luminosity. He glanced at the gritty, tiny window that overlooked the moors and saw the thick cloud that hovered over the moon. “Almost time,” he murmured silkily to Remus.

“Lucius, please…” Snape spoke. His voice, though deep and drawled, was filled with panic. Lucius casually turned his head from Remus to glance back at Severus, who was bound to a chair, naked, in the middle of the Shrieking Shack. His arms were tied together behind the back of the seat and either ankle secured to the wooden legs. “Please, don’t do this.”

Lucius narrowed his icy, pale blue eyes. “Give me one good reason, lover.” He spat the last word scornfully, as though it were a foul taste in his mouth.

Severus took in a sharp breath and knitted his black brows together. “Lucius, be rational,” he tried in a shaky voice.

Lucius sneered. “Rational,” he remarked sarcastically. He turned back to Lupin, met the man’s nipple with his thumb and forefinger and twisted it sharply. Remus let out a faint gasp, though his face remained stony and his eyes unfocused. “Tell me, Lupin, do you think I am being rational to your lover?

“Yes,” he replied despondently.

Lucius arched his brow and looked back to Severus. “Look at that, Severus. Your lover seems to think I am being fair to you.” Slowly, he circled around Remus, the heels of his boots clicking sharply on the dusty wooden floor. He kept his wand trained on Lupin as he strolled until he was behind the naked man. He peered over Lupin’s shoulder through the dimness of the room at Severus coldly. “You have scorned me, Severus,” he hissed. “You, my own lover left me for—“ He quickly snaked his arm up around Lupin and snatched the man’s chin with his long fingers; “-this,” he finished sharply. “Look at it, Severus. Look how disgusting it is! You left me, a noble Pureblood, for a festering, revolting Half-breed!” At that, he flicked his wand up towards Lupin’s expressionless face so the unearthly shimmer of the light lit it up for Severus to see.

Severus nervously shifted his dark, beady eyes from Lucius to Remus and back again. His brow was bathed in sweat, despite the coldness of the room, and his lower lip trembled slightly in fear. “Lucius please don’t hurt him,” he spoke in the firmest voice he could muster.

The blonde pulled his lips into another cruel smile. “Oh, I am not going to, Severus,” he replied smoothly. He quickly moved his eyes to Lupin and casually leaned in towards the man’s face. His long platinum hair tickled against Lupin’s bare arm and his lips brushed the conch of Remus’ ear. \"I don’t need to. He will be hurt enough. Just like he always is at this time of month,” he breathed. To make his point, he darted his eyes to the grimy window to look out at the cloudy night sky. It was windy outside, and at any moment the thick clouds would pass to reveal the swollen full moon. “It’s you I would be worried about, Severus,” he added and levelled his eyes back to the bound, raven haired professor. He glared at him and felt anger fill his chest.

Lucius had suspected Severus of being unfaithful to him for quite some time. Severus, once a passionate lover to Lucius, had, over time, become somewhat detached, disinterested and distant. As a result, Lucius – a highly suspicious man by nature – slipped a few drops of Veritaserum into his drink one night as they dined together. All had been revealed.

Severus, bewitched by the powerful potion, spoke about his love for Remus Lupin and how they had been secretly seeing each other in the middle of the night. He talked of, each month, making the Wolfsbane potion for Lupin so he could be with him through the monthly ordeal. He spoke about walking Remus to the Shrieking Shack hours before the moon rose, giving him the potion and sitting with him. He told of how he left before the wolf took over and then returned at the break of dawn to clean the man’s wounds, bathe him and wrap him in bandages. He spoke of how, during all the time he had spent caring for Remus, he fell in love with him.

Fighting back the deep seated hatred and anger inside him that was fuelled by his prejudice and, now, jealousy, Lucius demanded to know why Severus was being unfaithful. Severus explained he was sick of Lucius\' incessant need to dominate him and preferred Remus\' loving acceptance, something that Lucius would never give him.

Being the incredibly possessive man that Lucius Malfoy was, he had drawn his wand and almost ended Severus’ life in the utterance of an Unforgivable. However, his cunning nature took over. He decided that to end Severus’ life with the flick of a wand was much too merciful. Instead, he would give an eye for an eye like a Malfoy. He would use the very thing that Severus confessed to loving against him; if Lucius was not to have Severus, no one would.

Thus, in the weeks prior to the next full moon, Lucius made plans, and when the day of the full moon had arrived, he Apparated from his home into the Shrieking Shack and waited. Lucius set one of the old rickety chairs in the centre of the room and then paced the floor, waiting. He surveyed the filth and grime that had built up over the years within the run-down place, patiently watched the sun slowly sink from the sky, and, at last, he heard voices and footsteps approaching the aged, crooked door. Swiftly, he drew his wand out of his cane and positioned it, ready for Severus and Remus to enter.

The moment the two men stepped over the threshold, he barely gave them time to react to his presence when he fired the Immobulus hex at both of them. Lucius quickly stripped both the men of their clothes in silence. He plucked the phial of freshly made Wolfsbane potion from Severus’ garbs and threw it across the room, where it shattered on the floor and the gluggy contents oozed over the dusty wood. Severus was then dealt with first; Lucius trained his wand on Severus and moved the immobile man to the chair in the centre of the room. He then waved his wand dramatically and triumphantly uttered the Incarcerous hex and bound Severus to the seat.

He then turned back to Lupin with a wicked grin on his face, approached him with slow, deliberate steps with his wand outstretched and muttered “Imperio” in a silky voice. Remus fought against it and Lucius focused all his attention on Lupin until he completely overpowered the man’s mind. Severus watched on in horror and pleaded with Lucius to stop what he was doing, to which Lucius ignored. He held Lupin under the spell as the sun disappeared and the room grew dark and bided his time for when the full moon appeared.

“Why are you doing this?” Severus asked in a strained voice. He jerked his arms and legs against their binds, which had cut deeply into his skin and caused a vicious red rash to appear at the sites where they restrained him. His chair scraped over the wooden floor as he struggled in vain, not for the first time that night, and then he slumped back against the seat, defeated.

Lucius raised his brows. “Why am I doing this?” His hand, which was still on Remus’ chin, jerked the man’s head to force him to stare down at Severus. “Do you think that you can just leave what we had, Severus? Hm? Do you think I am going to be replaced by such filth?!” He gave a disgusted scoff and turned to look at Remus’ profile. “Tell me Severus, did you think that I would let you get off so easily?” He glanced back to Severus and continued, “A Malfoy doesn’t give mercy, Severus. A Malfoy doesn’t put up with being scorned. A Malfoy never loses a possession, unless he chooses to discard of it.”

“I was not your possession!” Severus shot back.

Lucius studied Severus’ sweaty, pale face, travelled his eyes down to his wan chest, his stomach, his bare prick and then back up again. “Oh, yes you were,” he whispered. He let go of Remus’ chin and placed his hand on the man\'s bare chest. Slowly, he trailed his hand down, over his nipples, his stomach, his navel, catching every single scar that gouged into his soft flesh. “Do you lick each of these disgusting scars when you fuck him, Severus?” he hissed. “Do you worship his body like you used to worship mine?” His hand continued down until it reached Lupin’s prick and he curled his long fingers around it. Remus, still under the power of the spell, let out a sharp breath, though his eyes remained glassy. “Do you suck this and drink the fluids from it like a baby suckles from its mother’s breast?” Lucius spat. Severus turned his head away and closed his eyes, to which Lucius bellowed, “Look at me, you vulgar turncoat!

Severus reluctantly opened his eyes and turned his head back to Lucius. His face was filled with sheer hatred. His eyes burned with fury and his pallid lips were pulled into a tight line. “You are a monster, Lucius,” he whispered.

“A monster?” Lucius tugged on Lupin’s prick, ran his hand up and down it and then circled the head with his fingertip before he let it go and dashed his hand back up to Remus’ face again. He snatched the man’s chin and aimed his wand closer to Lupin\'s face. “Look at this, Severus. This is a monster. A freak!” He leaned his face close to Lupin’s ear again and said silkily, “I ought to end this pathetic freak’s life right now, just so I can watch the horror on your face.”

Severus blanched and struggled in his binds again. “No!” he shouted desperately.

Lucius merely chuckled and let go of Remus’ chin. “Relax, Severus,” he spoke smoothly. “I wouldn’t do that. I would much rather have you suffer for your betrayal.”

Just as the last word left his lips, a stream of pale light streamed into the room and Lucius quickly snapped his head towards the window and smiled. “Oh, look,” he drawled. “The moon has come out to play.”

He felt Remus’ body stiffen up against him. Quickly, he let go of the man and took a hasty step back. The muscles on Lupin’s back were twitching and slowly, his shoulders began to hunch over. Lucius took several more steps backwards towards the door with a wicked grin on his face. Soft whimpers came from Remus’ lips and body curled over more. With the flick of his wand, Lucius ended the Imperius hex on Remus, and the transforming man jolted and suddenly darted his eyes around the room. Another whimper came from his lips and his gaze settled on the bound Severus, who was looking at Remus in absolute terror. “Severus?” Remus managed in a gasp before he completely doubled over and let out a scream of pain.

His bones shifted and stretched underneath his pale skin. Muscles bulged and his knees buckled as they changed shape. Lucius watched in amazement as each of Remus’ vertebrae protruded sharply as he bent over and thick hair began to wiggle out from within his skin. Lupin screamed again, this time more animalistic, as his face contorted and the sound of bones cracking filled the room. The aristocrat watched the transfiguring man’s ear’s morph and stretch back as Remus pressed his hands to the dusty floor. Lupin\'s nails flattened and claws tore through his cuticles. Remus let out a weak howl, and Lucius knew it was time to depart as quickly as possible.

Lucius spun around on his heel and strode the rest of the way to the door. Amidst the cries of agony from Remus, he heard Severus shouting Lucius’ name in a panic-stricken voice, which only made Lucius smile more as he grasped the door handle, turned it and pulled the door open. Just as he stepped over the threshold and slammed the door behind him, he heard a bestial howl come from within the room. Another terrified scream came from Severus as a deep growl was heard. Suddenly, Lucius heard a savage roar, another scream and then the sickening sound of bones cracking. The screaming from Severus stopped instantly. The werewolf within the room growled more and a splintering sound was heard as the chair was ripped apart. Following that came the noise of flesh being torn from bones.

The smile remained on Lucius’ lips as he Apparated from the Shack.
