Summary: Hermione is bitten and the only one who can help her is Remus. What will ensure between the two?

Rated NC-17 for later chapters. Now, on with the story...

"Come on Hermione. You have to eat something." Ron said to her. She was laying in the hospital bed staring out the window. She hadn't said hardly a word to anyone, not eaten much for the past two weeks. She'd had many visitors, but wasn't much for company.

She turned her head to look at Ron and winced, her body still sore from the beating it had taken. She had multiple bruises and cuts all over her. Madam Pomfrey had healed most of the damage, but some things could only heal the Muggle way when caused by a magical creature. Such as a Werewolf.

Ron smiled sadly at her when he seen the look of fear and hopelessness in her eyes. Reaching out a hand, he gently touched her cheek.

"Want to talk about it?" He asked

"What's there to talk about? I'm a freak now. I'll be an outcast just as Lupin is. How am I going to be able to stay in school and deal with all these people whispering behind my back and being scared of me?"

Ron moved so that he could put his arm around her and tilted her head up so he could look into her eyes.

"You're being silly. You're not a freak. And since when do you care about what people say and think about you? Don't worry. Everything will work out just fine. Dumbledore will make sure you are allowed to stay at school. And if people do get too out of hand, just threaten to eat them." He said with a teasing smile, hoping to lighten her mood and wishing that wasn't the wrong thing to say.

As bad as she felt, she couldn't help but give a slight smile. She couldn't help the thought that passed through her mind about telling Malfoy he was going to be her first meal after she turned. Sobering up, she reached up and placed a small kiss on Ron's cheek.

"Thanks."

"Hey, what are best friends for?"

They sat there talking quietly for a little while, Ron giving her small bites of food so she could get some nourishment and making her see that life wasn't going to be so bad. She would still have her best friends and her books. Plus all the extra stuff she would gain from it. Better hearing, smell, able to tell if people were lying and so on.

When Professor Dumbledore and Remus Lupin walked in, Ron dismissed his self so they could talk privately. Giving Hermione a quick kiss on the cheek, he told her he'd see her later.

"Good evening, Miss Granger. How are you feeling this evening?"

"I'm okay. I've been better, but I'll be all right. Ron cheered me up."

"Good, good. Well, there's something that Remus needs to discuss with you so I will be back in a little while."

Giving them both an encouraging smile, he left the room. Hermione looked at Lupin and gave him a small smile. He smiled back nervously at her and sat down in the chair. He knew she probably wasn't going to like what he and Dumbledore had decided, but it was in her, and everyone else's, best interest.
