Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. I don’t own Snape, but Snape owns me. I don’t own anything recognizable, actually. This is inspired by, but breaks almost all of the rules of the Marriage Law Challenge.

MUDBLOOD ENSLAVEMENT ACT PASSED
by Aurora McKie
In the most appalling setback to human rights since slavery, the Ministry of Magic has passed Act 116 for the Preservation of Wizarding Culture. Notoriously restrictive of our rights, some of the more famous Acts for the Preservation of Wizarding Culture include number 96, the Restriction of Underage Wizardry, and number 113, the Muggle Protection Act. While most of these acts are either a necessary evil or so antiquated that they are no longer an imposition, Act 116, The Marriage Law, is the first blatant attempt by the Ministry to infringe on our rights.
The Ministry of Magic has finally acknowledged, publicly, that the wizarding world is in danger as the continued intermarrying of the Pureblood line causes more and more stillbirths, squibs and barren children. In an attempt to save the old families, The Marriage Law has been put into place. Under this law any Pureblood wizard or male head of a Pureblood family can petition for a betrothal contract giving them legal power over a Muggleborn witch.
Attempting to quell any public outcry, the law stipulates that only witches and wizards between the ages of 25 and 50 at the time of the law’s inception will be forced to adhere. In addition, the law will not be enforced on anyone who has a child, has been married, or is engaged at the time of the law’s initiation. Couples are given five years to bear their first child, and all couples must give birth to at least three children within ten years, at which time the marriage may be dissolved.
It comes as no surprise that The Marriage Law is much more restrictive of Muggleborn witches than it is of Pureblood wizards. Witches are required by law to accept a proposal within a month after receiving their first proposal, while wizards are only prevented from marrying another pureblood.
A protest rally is being held tonight at 7pm on the front steps of the Ministry. Even if you are not affected by this law, we still encourage you to attend. If the law is successful and unopposed, it may expand to include every legal adult. Do not allow the Ministry to trample our freedoms.

A couple notes:
The “Mudblood Enslavement Act” was taken from another Marriage fic, but I can’t remember which.
The second paragraph is taken directly from the challenge.
I decided that the UK’s wizarding population would have more than just The Daily Prophet and The Quibbler. The Post Crescent is the name of a real newspaper, but in my story, it’s the closest thing to free press in wizarding England, as The Daily Prophet is obviously controlled by the ministry, and The Quibbler is a tabloid.
Also, pay attention to the name of the reporter who wrote the article.
