A/N: I do not own any of these characters (Except Ms. Io Daontes) or settings, though of of the situations came from my lovely little brain. ^.^ Enjoy.

The Eyes That Burn
Through the window of the lone carriage making its way to Hogwarts, she could see the spires of the castle silhouetted against a full moon. This would be her home for the next two years of her magical training, unless-no, it wouldn’t happen again. This time would be different; this time she would control it.
The carriage halted at the front entrance, disturbing her anxious thoughts of the years to come and the events that will fill them. The constant bumping that had numbed her posterior during the long journey now ceased and she cringed at the tingling sensation that signaled the return of blood flow to the area. As the door creaked on its hinges, allowing the moon’s light to penetrate the carriage’s scarcely lit interior, she stepped down onto the rain-soaked, stone pathway leading up to the large oak doors.
Carefully placing a delicate, but firm hand on the door, she pushed it open just enough to poke her head in. Spotting no Hogwarts students in the vicinity, she slipped unnoticed into the school’s interior. Looking around she spotted four large, glass columns. On closer inspection she found that they were actually hourglasses containing jewels of four different colors: red, blue, yellow, and green. She jumped as two green jewels flew back up to the top of the hourglass.
Her eyes traveled up the first column falling on a magnificent, golden lion. Upon each hourglass lay a statuette of a different animal: a lion, a badger, a raven, and a snake ready to bite. Her lips, pale from the cold, winter winds, curled into an amused grin. She turned around, her auburn hair falling into her face causing her hand to rise gracefully and sweep the stray hair back behind her ear.
Moving toward another set of towering wooden doors, the rhythmic click-clack of her shoes echoing throughout the grand entrance hall, she pressed her palm against the ornate carvings in the oak door and could feel the vibration of voices on the other side of the door. She pictured all of the identically robed students masticating their food and laughing about that day’s highlights.
Although she only pushed on the door with minimal force, the door swung open violently. It clanged against the stone wall sending a sequence of echoes through the Great Hall as it had been labeled on a golden plaque next to the doors. A hush fell over the room, except for a group of giggling girls wearing blue-edged robes. Realizing that everyone around them had fallen into an eerie silence, they shut their mouths and look around, obviously confused.
