A/N: Hey guys I hope you enjoy this story, I do plan on updating Forbidden Fantasies soon too. I am sorry it took me so long to get back to writing, but I had a massive writers block, and now I can\'t seem to stop with all the plots. I don\'t own any of the Harry Potter World that goes to J.K. Rowling, However I do own the story line. Thanks. So I hope you like this story just as much as Forbidden Fantasies. Also, please R&R, thank you! Enjoy!
Returning To A Place Once Called Home
Chapter 1: The Return
She looked horrible; skin and bones, pale as can be, and cut up wrists. The American life had done Hermione Granger wrong. Unable to deal with the drama of life in the states, Her Potion\'s job wasn\'t going well at all. Her chairman of the Potions Department found it quite fun to pass moves on her while at work, which made Hermione completely ill. Her relationship with her boyfriend was based on lies, which she had recently found out one day when she walked into her boyfriend\'s house and found him and her friend going at it in his bed. That was over with in a heartbeat and maybe with some objects thrown at their heads. Pretty much life was being harsh to Hermione and she came to the conclusion that it was time to go back home.
She stepped off the Hogwarts Express and onto the platform of Hogsmeade Train Station. She looked around the platform for an old familiar face. Her eyes cut throw the afternoon crowd on the platform and stopped as they landed on a face she knew very well. She smiled and made her way through the crowd towards Hogwarts Headmaster; Albus Dumbledore. She was greeted with a very warm smile and a hug.
\"Hello Hermione, I trust your trip wen well?\"
\"Yes, Professor, Thank you.\"
They gathered her things and took a carriage to Hogwarts.
\"It saddens me to learn that the States treated such a splendid, bright, and clever young lady so harshly.\"
He slightly shook his head with the remark.
\"I am just glad to be back here where I feel at home. Thank you Professor for accepting me back and finding a place for me on your staff.\"
\"Oh Hermione, you know you are always welcome here.\"
\"Thank you Professor.\"
As the carriage made it\'s way to the castle, it\'s two passengers talked about times apart.
They stepped out of the carriage and made their way up to the castle.
All Hermione could do was smile. Just the sight of the castle made all her wonderful memories come flooding back of happy times with her friends, to a very special Potions Master.
Entering the castle took Hermione\'s breath way, she never dreamed that she would come back to her home away from home after her seventh year. She was happy to be there, now maybe just maybe life will turn around for her. Maybe this is where her life meant her to be, but all she could do now and wait and find out. The castle had not changed a bit since she was here last. It was as bright and colorful, full of life and adventure.
They made their way up to the Headmaster\'s office in silence, while Hermione retook in her home. She then heard the Headmaster speak. \"Cotton Candy.\" And the passage way to the Headmaster\'s office opened up and they made their way up the stairs and in the circle room. She sat down in an arm chair in front of his desk and crossed her legs, waiting for her instructions. She looked up at the Headmaster, and smiled. He returned her smile and picked up a scroll and read over it.
\"I believe we will give you the spare set of chambers next to Severus\'s chambers,\" he began.
\'SEVERUS!!??!! Oh this should be fun.\' She thought to herself.
\"And Until I can discuss a permanent position with Severus, upon his return, I shall ask you to take care of the Library while our Librarian goes on a short vacation, Is that ok my dear?\"
Hermione\'s heart raced when she heard Library, she loved Hogwarts\'s Library, of course she would look after the library. She simply smiled widely at the Headmaster and responded.
\"Of course Professor, I would love too.\"
\"Oh and Hermione dear, since we are working together and you are no longer my student, you may call me Albus.\"
Hermione smiled at him, \"That will take sometime to get use to, but I will try my best, Prof... Albus.\"
She heard a soft chuckle come from him, and laughed inside to herself.
\"The wards on your chambers can only be lifted by you and me only. I have taken it upon myself to have your chambers decorated in Gryffindor colors.\"
Hermione\'s face lit up at the words of Gryffindor, she was soo happy, that everything was turning out just great. \"That is wonderful Albus, thank you.\"
\"Well, this is where I bid you good bye until dinner tonight. I trust you know where your chambers are?\"
\"Oh Yes I should be able to find it, Plus, I would like to take a walk around the castle once before I head to my chambers. Thank you Albus, and I will see you at dinner.\"
With that Hermione stood up and exited the Headmaster\'s office and headed towards the Great Hall, that would be a lovely place to start. And maybe just maybe she \"might\" just run into none other than Professor Snape, Potions Master.
