Chapter 1
Hermione was not sure what she was doing, of all things she was willing to do for Harry and Ron, this carried the largest risk. Expulsion and it was only the second week of school. Hermione just decided that what ever they needed to talk to her about had better be good. Hermione was chosen as the Head Girl, to no ones surprise, and had be busy with duties and schoolwork to talk to the boys. Other wise she was sure that the boys would have been able to tell her in the common room. It was at that moment that the boys showed up.
“Finally, I was getting worried, I thought Filch got you. What took you so long?” Hermione asked as she hugged each of her friends.
“We almost got caught by Snape, but we hide in a classroom for a while.” Answered Ron out of breath
from what Hermione guessed was running to meet her. Harry was by his side but wasn’t talking. She didn’t have a long time to think about this because suddenly he lunged at her grabbing her around the waist in a sort of football tackle. They fell back with so much force that Hermione hit her head on the floor and knocked herself out. The last thing she saw was Ron smiling and then everything went black.
Harry and Ron were walking back from a kitchen raid that went really well, since they did not have Hone one trying to set all house elves free they got much more than usual. Once they got back to the common room a confusinnyinny appeared.
“What are you doing here, I thought you were supposed to meet Hermione in the Astronomy tower?” Ginny asked furrowing her brow quizzically.
“Why would we do that?” Ron asked every since Hermione and his break up this summer he had been cold to her.
“No, we just came from the kitchens, what about Hermione now?” Harry asked sincerely worried. Ginny launched into the story about how Hermione got a letter supposedly from them about how they wanted to meet her in the Astronomy tower to try to talk things over.
“Well, we cale ole out it being a Gryffindor, bet it was Malfoy,” Ron interjected.
“No, Ron I saw him disappear around a corner with Pansy on our way back, I think we might need a professor on this one.” Harry said. There was only one professor that Harry trusted and he was no longer a professor but the current Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore.
The three students went running through the halls only stopping once to hide from Peeves, who was throwing water balloons at the perfects on duty. Once in the hallway of the gargoyle that guarded Dumbledore’s office Harry yelled the password, lemon drops. By the time that they had reached the spot the gargoyle had jumped aside and the stairs were already moving up. They three friends burst through the door and faced the aging wizard.
Albus Dumbledore was a kind faced wizard that had twinkling eyes and a long silvery beard. He was dressed in a deep blue robe that had moons and stars embroidered on the sleeve cuffs.
“I take it you have a good reason to be bursting into my office this late at night.” The Headmaster asked, his eyes twinkling.
“Something…huff huff…has…happened…to Hermione.” Harry got out difficultly.
“Are you sure? Maybe she is just out on rounds, our dear friend does have a way of disappearing when she wants to be alone.” Dumbledore said no longer smiling. He had always had a soft spot for Hermione; she loved to study and never really got into trouble.
“No, I’m sure I can feel it, something is wrong.” Ron said, the look on his face showing deep caring.
“Well, I will talk to people around the school and get back to you three as soon as I know something, but for now I suggest that you get some sleep. Don’t you have potions tomorrow morning?” Albus had the smile and twinkle back in place.
“Yes,” mumbled Harry and Ron. And with that they were escorted from the headmaster’s office.
Dumbledore closed the door and went into deep thought; he had felt some sort of dark magic a little while ago. He assumed that Lucius Malfoy hame tme to visit Severus. “Hmm…Can I have all of you’re attention, please?” Albus was addressing the portraits in the office. They all focused on him except a couple asleep. He politely asked neighbors to wake them. Once he was sure that he had everyone’s attention he continued. “Hermione Granger has gone missing. I would like everyone to please leave these frames and search the school, I know that if she is here somewhere you all can find her, please return here in three hours.” Albus finished and with that they all left through neighboring portraits and were on their way. Albus already knew the answer but this needed to be done for obvious reasons. He pulled out some parchment and started a letter.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Granger,
I am sorry to inform you that your daughter, Hermione Granger, has been kidnapped while out on rounds this evening. There is no need for you to come here until we have more information for you. I have informed the Ministry of Magic and we will both keep you informed. I am truly sorry and we are doing everything in our power to locate her and get her back. She is our brightest student here. I will find her.
Sincerely,
Albus Dumbledore

Albus was in deep thought when Professor McGonagall burst in.
“Is it true?’ She asked. Tears threatening to be spilt.
“Yes it is, the portraits just returned and some saw what they all believed was young Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasely meet and takle Ms. Granger, then take her off school grounds.” Albus said looking Professor McGonagall in the eyes. She broke down and started bawling like a baby.
“There is nothing that we can do right now, I suggest that we all get some sleep.” Albus said showing Professor McGonagall out of his office and then retiring to his own rooms. It had been one hell of a day.
Hermione was stirring. She cracked one eye and then the other. She was in some sort of room that seemed to be a bedroom. The bed was large and was covered in deep blood red sheets and the soft sheer material that surrounded the bed was a black color but so sheer it could be seen through easily. If she weren’t so scared it would have been beautiful. The furniture was a mahogany and had details carved into each piece. There was a desk and chair, a couch, and an oversized single chair that looked to be very comfortable. All of the wall hangings and chairs were the black color, and the floor was covered in a blood red carpet. Hermione had just gotten up when her head felt like it had been split open. She got to the oversized chair fine and just as she plopped down the door to the room opened.
A tall hooded figure came in and sat on the couch across from her. Hermione gasped when the figure removed the hood, she was sitting across from Voldermort.
Sorry for anything that may seem weird but this is how I see things happening. I will explain how they got her later. Please review; I’m a review junkie. I need to know things. Thanks -Fay¬
