The rain hammered down upon the roof performing a melancholy melody throughout the otherwise silent house. Draco sat on the windowsill and stared out into the gloom of the night with a heavy heart.

He glanced at the clock, 9:00 pm.

He sighed and rested his head on the windowpane.

Harry was getting married today, would be married today. Married. Harry was married.

Draco closed his eyes and tried to ignore the pain stabbing away at his heart.

Harry was happily in love, married with the woman he loved while Draco sat in the dark, alone and brokenhearted listing to the music of the rain.

A single tear made it’s way down his pale cheek. “Harry…” he whispered. Draco knew he would never have a chance with Harry. Never.

In their school days they knew hatred towards each other. Only after five years apart then could they for a friendship. It was only two weeks of friendship did Draco’s feeling towards Harry developing into love. It was a week after that did Harry mention he was engaged.

He took a deep breath and whipped the tear off his cheek.

Dra Draco remembered that day all too well. Harry was just going on about what flavour of ice cream he preferred then continued on to what flavour his fiancée liked best.

Draco’s world stopped then and there. He felt so stupid forever believing Harry would love him. Embarrassed for even falling for Harry and broken hearted for he would never have a chance with Harry Potter. Even if he could have done anything it was too late now to do anything about it now anyway. Harry was married and sitting here sulking was not going to make it any less true. With that, Draco heaved his body into a standing position.

He mopped his way to the stairs going up to the second level, when a knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts. Draco made his way over to the door and opened it to reveal a sight that made his heart weep.

Harry Potter stood there, drenched from the rain that continued to fall from the Heavens.

“Harry?” Draco whispered in awe, “What-“

Harry cut him off, “Why?.” He said in a sad, miserable tone, “Why Draco?”

Draco leaned against toor oor for support, “Why what?

Anger flashed in Harry’s eyes, “You know damn well what I’m talking about! Why didn’t you tell me! Why did you hide it?! Why did I have to find out from Hermione about you? Why Draco?”

Draco eyes widened in realization. Hermione told him. Told him of his feelings. is lis love for Harry. “She told you?” he asked in a small voice.

Harry slowly nodded, rain still splashing down his body. “Why couldn’t you just have told me?” he asked in a small voice, anger washed away in the rain.

Draco looked to the floor, “And tell you what? Tell you that you’re with the wrong person. I should be the one you kiss goodnight to, whisper you love me in my ear. Wake up next to. That you should love me! Should I have told you that, Harry!”

“No.” Harry admitted after a moment of thought.

“Then what Harry?” Draco asked, looking up to look at the man he was desperately in love with. “Tell me what I should have done.”

“I don’t know.” Harry confessed.

“That’s what I thought.” Draco rested his head upon the door and stood there listened to the rain.

After endless minutes of standing there in silence letting the rain wash over his body, Harry spoke. “I didn’t get married.”

Draco’s head shot up, “What?”

Harry was looking into space, “I couldn’t do it. I tried, but I couldn’t. I stood there looking at her and I couldn’t do it. It just didn’t feel right.”

“You didn’t get married?”

Harry shook his head, “No. I walked out on my own wedding.” Harry smiled sadly.

“Harry you didn’t!” Draco yelled, appalled at what he was hearing. “How could you do that to her? To her family? To your family?!”

Harry smiled and looked at Draco, “What else could I do? I couldn’t go though with it. I just kept thinking about you.

“You didn’t get married because of me? Harry how could you? Do you hate me that much that you had to cancel you own wedding?” Draco asked but deathly afraid of the answer.

“No. I left the wedding before I found out about you and your love for me.”

“I don’t understand.”

Harry ran a hand through his soaked hair, “When I left the wedding, Hermione followed me asking what was wrong. I told her I couldn’t do it. It wasn’t right. She asked me what was wrong and I told her.”

Draco was n as as scared in his whole life as he was right now, “And what did you tell her?”

“That I thought I was in love.”

Draco just stared at the black haired man. “I still don’t understand.”

Harry sighed and leaned his back against the house, the eves shielding him for the pouring rain. “I told her that I couldn’t’ get this person out of my head, that I needed to see them everyday just to be near them, hear their voice. They made me feel complete. And I knew that if I was to follow through with the wedding, I could never be with who I truly love.” Harry confessed.

“And who do you love?” Draco asked in a timid voice.

“You.”

Drachearheart stopped beating, “What?”

Harry smiled, “I love you Draco. I don’t know when it happened or why but it did and I’m so glad it did.”

Draco stood there stunned, “You love me?”

“I do.” Harry said still smiling at the blond haired man as he walked up to face him. “I love you Draco Malfoy and I’m sorry I dt unt understand my feelings sooner.”

Draco felt his eyes fill with tears, “Really?”

“Really really.”

Draco laughed as he launched himself at Harry. “Wait!” he pulled out of their embrace, “What about that woman you were marring?”

“What girl?” Harry asked, pulling Draco into the house, only to kiss the blond as he closed the door to the outside world.
