Chapter 1: American Hideout (In progress)

After the ministry confirmed Voldemort\'s return after the incident in the Ministry of Magic, the Dark Lord did not wait long before publicallyinniinning the second war. About a week after the term had ended, Death Eathad had begun launching attacks against muggles and muggleborns. It was pure chaos as the muggle auitieities could not stop the attacks or defend themselves and the Aurors, even with the Order of the Phoenix, were outnumbered. Apparently Voldemort had been doing more than just trying to get the prophecy during his quiet time...he had been building up an army and now it was greater than that during the first war. But fortunately, it was only confined to the British Isles, which caused Dumbledore to come up with a plan to protect (at least) the muggleborn students at Hogwarts.

The Granger family had one of the heaviest amount of security of all muggleborn families for three reasons: one, muggle family; two, Hermione was Harry Potter\'s friend; three, she was one of the founding members of the DA where the core members had helped oppose Voldemort\'s attempts at getting the prophecy. Dumbledore suspected that Ron, Ginny, Luna and Neville won\'t be far behind in being targeted even though they were from all magical families. Of all the people Voldemort hated, he hated the ones that opposed him the most. The Grangers were given a secret place to live in America and underwent Glamour and the Fidelius Charms to protect their location. Not wanting to risk another massacre of a family like that of Harry\'s family, Dumbledore was the Grangers\' Secret Keeper himself. He did not want to take the risk of another traitor ratting them out to Voldemort.
