A Potion Gone Wrong

Author\'s Note: I indeed had a story on here before but I deleted it in order to write another one that is much better. I hope ya\'ll like it! Also the {}\'s mean it\'s a thought!!

{Potions, the only class I don\'t want to go to! Professor Snape is so mean and rude! He always makes me feel like a smart-ass!} I was interrupted in my thoughts when Harry nudged me. \"Hermione! Are you listening to me at all?\" I shook my head as he went on and on about wanting to break up with Ginny.

\"Harry, I don\'t care! If you’re going to break up with her do it already!\" I yelled loud enough for the whole hallway to hear.

\"Hermione!! What is wrong with you? I didn\'t want the whole school to know!\" Harry looked at me shocked and hurt. I turned my attention away from him and walked into class. I took my seat; the one Snape placed me in. I pulled out some parchment and began writing a letter to Harry apologizing when Draco Malfoy walked up and snatched it from me. He read it aloud and everyone heard it. He smirked at me.

\"So Granger can\'t keep a secret! HA! Potter I hope you listened to this, she says she\'s sorry for yelling in the hallway, you were going on about Ginny and she was thinking of \"other\" things! Well Granger I bet you were thinking of me, everyone knows you like me!\"

\"Malfoy give me that letter now!\" He held it up so I couldn\'t reach. He was laughing until I punched him in the stomach and grabbed my paper. I walked over handed it to Harry and said Sorry a few times before Snape called me into his office.

\"Miss Granger, what did you think you were doing? Hitting another student.\"

\"Professor he took something of mine...\"

\"Silence! I will NOT tolerate my students behaving that way! Detention, I will inform Mr. Malfoy he has a detention as well.\" I smiled politely and left Snape\'s office, just the thought of having detention with Malfoy made me want to puke! Class ended and Detention began. Snape said he was going to dinner and I proclaimed I was not hungry I was just going to sit and work on Potions homework. Malfoy smirked and said he would do the same. I rolled my eyes at him {Oh Great alone time with the man I hate!}

\"Granger hand me that cauldron,\" Draco put his hand out and I handed him the cauldron and went back to my work. Between the flames and boiling potions it began to get warm. I removed my sweater leaving me standing there in my cotton white shirt, Malfoy looked at me and looked away quickly. He took off his coat and sat it on his chair. I kept working on my potion when it began to bubble furiously. It popped a few times and I stepped back. Right before it exploded Malfoy pulled me to the ground and under a desk right as the potion exploded and went everywhere. Malfoy looked at me I was shivering due to the explosion he pulled me into his arms and held me close. I felt him kiss my forehead to help calm me down.

Professor Sprout had come running in to see what happened when she saw us under the desk. \"Malfoy, Granger! What are you two doing in here? What happened?!\" I got out from under the desk followed by Malfoy.

\"A mixture of incorrect potions.\"

\"Well Miss Granger I hope you can explain this to Headmaster Dumbledor!\" Professor Sprout walked out of the room in a hurry. I stood there looking at Draco he looked around at the mess my potion had made. I put my hand up to move my hair out of my face and realized I got some of the mix on my face.

\"OH NO!\" Draco looked at me quickly, \"I got some of that stuff on my face...\"

\"And? I\'m sure you\'ll be fine.\"

\"No, Malfoy, I won\'t! I was making a.... a potion for someone!\" I felt faint, \"Oh my goodness I need to find Dumbledor quickly!!\" I ran out of the room and smacked into Professor Snape! {Perfect now I get another detention!} He looked at me asked where the fire was and walked off in the other direction. I ran to the Great Hall and ran to Dumbledor he looked at me funny. I explained everything and he took me to the Hospital Wing. McGonagall was already sitting in there with someone as Dumbledor brought me in. I felt extremely weak and could barely stand on my own two feet.

I was lifted on to the table and then I slipped from consciousness. I must have laid there for quite awhile because two days had passed when I woke up. Something in my head kept telling me to go find Draco but something else said to leave him be and not mention what potion I was making. I sat up and looked around. Madame Pomfrey came to my side and asked if I was Allright. I got up from the bed and she aided me to the Great Hall. I sat at the Gryffindor table and ate a plate of food. A few students were in there but no one noticed me. Harry ran in the doors. He ran right up to me hugging me nearly knocking me over!

\"Oh my, Hermione we weo woo worried about you!\"

\"Harry please.... Wait, we?\"

\"I should s was was worried but Draco came up and asked if you were ok, he seemed worried.\" I looked at Harry and then to the doors as Draco Malfoy walked in, I could have jumped from my skin when he glared at me. All of the people he was with left and so did Harry. Madame Pomfrey had went to talk to some teachers and left me sitting there. Draco walked over to me and sat down. He asked if I was Allright and made light conversation.

\"I\'m fine, now please leave me alone.\" I simply said. He looked at me and then looked around the room. Once he saw no one was looking he kissed me. As his lips pressed against mine I felt warm. He put his hand on my neck to deepen the kiss I kept my eyes closed fearing I would ruin the moment by opening them. He then pulled away and I looked at him with an eyebrow raised.

\"Hermione.... I have to say something to you now before it disappears in my mind forever...I\'m in love with you. I have been since the explosion.\"

\"Draco....\" I trailed off, I couldn\'t think of anything to say but, \"I think I love you too.\"

There was a long pause, then he got up and walked to Madame Pomfrey. She nodded her head and he came back up to me and grabbed my hand. I got up and we walked out into the hallway that was filled with people. He told me to act sick and I did. My knees were weak at the mere sight of him so it wasn\'t hard to pretend. We went towards the hospital wing and he stopped and took me to the Slytherin common room. I wasn\'t supposed to be there....I knew it and he knew it too. We made a quick dash to his room. \"I\'m not supposed to be in here!\"

\"I know that! Why do you think we had to run for it?\"

\"Draco I don\'t think Professor Snape would be happy to find me here!\"

\"Well Shut up and he won\'t! Plus he has a class right now,\" Draco said with a smirk. He smiled at me and led me to his bed. We sat there for awhile not saying or doing anything. I kept thinking to myself {I\'m actually enjoying Draco\'s company, nothings happeneing but it\'s nice to just sit here} He leaned over and pulled me into his arms. We just sat there, he and I were both excused from our afternoon classes because he was \"watching over me\" s had had all the time in the world. After twenty minutes of sitting there he lifted my face to his and he gently kissed me. When he stopped I looked at him surprised. \"Hermione, I\'m sorry.\"

\"For what?\"

\"For being such a jerk to you before. I think that in potions I was being immature and a little stupid, making the comment that you like me. I was only trying to hide the fact that I like you....\" He trailed off and I shushed him by putting my index finger on his lips. He looked me in the eyes and smiled. This wasn\'t his sarcastic smile it was a nice smile. He leaned in and kissed me again and I was in bliss.I garuntee you I wasn\'t ready for what happened next.

Draco layed me down on his bed and got on top of me we never broke our kiss. His hands were shaking as he un-buttoned my shirt. He barely got the last button when Snape swung the door open. I lied there stunned as Draco got up and had sweat running down his forehead, Snape looked at me then at Draco.

\"Is this your way of taking care of Miss Granger?! Malfoy I think detention would be best for you, and Miss Granger I think you need to find Madame Pomfrey and spend your time with her!\" Snape\'s voice was filled with anger. I left the Slytherin common room excorted by Snape I flashed Draco a smile, he smiled back at me. Sanpe dragged me into the hallway and took me straight to Dumbledore. He nearly threw me to the ground in front of the Headmaster. \"Headmaster, I found Miss Granger with Draco Malfoy....in his room ALONE!\" Snape\'s eyes flared. Dumbledore smiled.

\"Severus they are young adults and these things will happen more often than you think....\"

\"This will NOT be happening under my watch Albus!\" Snape\'s nostrils flared and Dumbledore looked at him. I glared at the floor and was dismissed to the hospital wing.

\"Miss Granger! Where have you been?!\" Pomfrey asked loudly.

\"Miss Granger was with Mr. Malfoy. ALONE!\" Snape answered quickly. I looked at the ground as Pomfrey said something about keeping me with ehr at all times then Snape left.

\"Miss Granger...your condition is critical right now! You cannot go out doing these things! I don\'t even know what potion you were trying to make, since it went wrong I\'m sure it could have killed you!\"

\"Madame Pomfrey no worries....I know what it was...\"

\"Well?\"

\"I can\'t tell you! It\'s not something Snape gave me permission to make if I told you I could get in alot of trouble!\" I looked at a shokced Pomfrey and stormed out of the hospital wing. Not paying attention to anyone in the halls I made my way quickly to Gndorndor tower.
