Chapter 1- Getting Caught in the Restricted Section
************~*~************
Ron had followed Snape into the restricted section and had waited for the greasy git to leave. Once he was sure Snape was gone he let the invisibility cloak fall to his shoulders so he could see better in the dim light. There had to be something. A spell. A charm. A potion. It didn’t matter. Hermione had to be his and he was getting desperate. Ron reached out and took a slim volume from the stack in front of him. Just as he opened the green book…

************~*~************

Severus Snape knew some one had followed him into the restricted section. Making his way back to the stacks he murmured a silencing charm to mask his footfalls in the cavernous library. Turning the corner there the little sneak was. Though not the sneak he had been expecting.

There was Ronald Weasley; rather Ron Weasley’s disembodied head. He was searching the shelves so intently for some tome that he didn’t notice Snape. Weasley had no business in the restricted section. Unless… The Golden Trio was up to something once again. *Weasley must have found something to interest him. * Severus thought as the boy slid a slim book from the shelf.

It was better to stop them before they started. Cocking an eyebrow and leaning against the bookshelf Severus cleared his throat loudly. He smirked when Ron Weasley was so startled he dropped the book he had been holding. Swooping down and scooping the book from the floor Severus glanced at the slim volume but didn’t recognize it’s green leather unmarked cover.

“Mr. Weasley, I do believe you have made my night, twenty points from Gryffindor and a week’s detention with Mr. Filch. Now get back to your dorm before I make it a month.” Severus almost let a bark a laughter escape him as he watched the disembodied head hurry to the exit. When the doors swung shut after the red haired troublemaker Severus returned his attention to the book he had confiscated.

It was a small book not more than a hands breadth wide. Severus idly ran his fingers over the tooled Celtic knots in the leather cover of the book feltfelt a faint tingle. A charm. Severus walked to one of the tables and set the book down. He cast several charms of his own to see if there were any dark spells waiting to attack the reader. Not that he didn’t trust Madam Pince to check each book thoroughly but being a Death-eater and a spy had taught him to always check things for himself. Luckily he didn’t find anything malevolent just a single linking charm. Though he couldn’t get the charm to reveal to what it was linked Severus let his curiosity get the better of him and he slid into one of the uncomfortable wooden chairs and slid the book closer to him. He opened the book and began to read.

Dear Prof. Snape,

I will begin this journal entry as I do all my journals. I hate writing to \'Dear Diary\'. It is so unimaginative, trite and over done! Thus I write to you. You who are the most popular and voted most shaggable and sexiest teacher at Hogwarts! Hehe! More about that in a bit. Why do I always begin my journals in October? *Sigh* Doubtless you would roll your eyes if you read this and wonder if I had a life.

Do I have a life? Not really. I work a minimum wage job to survive. I don\'t live Severus... I survive. So here I sit at my job, on break and wonder if there is by hope, or by magic a way to where you are. I certainly pray there is. Should I find concrete proof that there is not, then I don\'t think I could continue in this world. Slim a hope as I have... it is what gets me up in the morning and what keeps me breathing. I know... lay another heavy burden on your doorstep. Why not? You carry so much on your shoulders Severus. Does *anyone* ever comfort you? Does anyone ever hold you? Or simply sit with you and keep you company? I know I could use your company right now.

Almost time to go back to work. I am so tired Severus. I have read all five books now and await the sixth eagerly and pray that you will be all right throughout all of them. Harry is turning out to be as much an ass as his father. Yes... I read about your worst memory. Had I been there... nothing would have stopped me from helping you castrate James Potter and Sirius Black! Oops! Shit!! ‘Gotta run... Later Love.

Hugs and Kisses

************~*~************
Severus was stunned. Who was this? Sexiest Teacher? Shaggable??? What in bloody hell was this? It must be some kind of joke? Books? Though castrating Potter alacklack all those years ago may have solved a few problems right from the start. His worst memory??? This person knew about that? Severus could feel his face grow warm with an embarrassment he had thought was long buried.

This person writes as if they know him, know his life, know his dark existence. They want to share in it. How could that possibly be? It had to be a joke or a trick being played by the Golden Trio.

Severus gathered up the book and stalked out of the library. It was going to be a late night. He had research to do. He was going to get to the bottom of this book, this diary. His trademark sneer stole across his face as he contemplated his revenge on the poor unsuspecting fool who dared write this dribble.

************~*~************

Lissa clocked back in for the rest of her shift thinking about Severus Snape. *There was a man who could understand her!* He had so many moods and Lissa loved every one of them. Dark when they both were in the mood… Secretive… Grating and sardonic… Gentle and loving... Severus would understand her sarcastic, biting comments and actually appreciate them! Now, if only he were real!

Her mind ran with ideas and possibilities of ways to get therd thd then ensnare the man. She heaved a sigh. Like he would look twice at her!

She burned her fingers a few times on the hot grill and coughed more than once. Her body ached as chills traveled through her body. The flu! This was all she needed! Where was that delicious potions master with his wonderful concoctions when you needed them most? Ugh! She could feel tnfecnfection setting in and wished the day was over so she could go home, cook dinner, watch the news and get herself off while thinking of Severus. She was so pathetic!

She turned her attention back to her work trying to ignore her aching feet and back as their incessant calls for more food interrupted her happier thoughts of a certain snarky, raven haired Potions Master.
