Summary: Hermione is Head Girl and Draco is Head Boy. What will happen when they to share a room and go on a school trip together? Will they put the past behind them and fall in love? What happens when Lucius takes Draco away from Hermione? Will she be able to save him in time, or will something stop her?
~The Burrow~
It is the summer before 7th year. Hermione and Harry are at their best friend\'s house, Ron Weasley. Hermione and Ron had dated in 6th year, but it didn\'t work out. Harry is still dating Ginny, and the family is very happy.
\"Hermione, Harry, Ron, Ginny! Come down and get your letters from school!\" Molly Weasley screamed up from the kitchen.
\"Coming, Mum!\" Ginny screamed back and they four of them jogged down the stairs.
\"Hi, dearies, your letters are on the table.\" Molly pointed and they all grabbed them.
\"I got Head Girl!\"
The letter says:
\"Dear Miss Granger,
We are proud to announce that you have made Head Girl. You will meet the Head Boy in the compartment when you arrive at the Hogwarts Express. Congratulations!
Your Professors,
Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster
Minerva McGonagall, Gryffindor Head\"--
Hermione read aloud.
\"Congratulations, Hermione!\" Ron said and pecked a kiss on Hermione.
\"Ron, if I have told you once, I have told you 1,000 times, please don\'t kiss me anymore,\" Hermione said. \"I have no feelings like that for you. If you want to show affection, just hug me or something, like normal friends do.\" She sighed and sat down.
\"I got Prefect!\" Ginny screamed with joy.
\"Congratulations, Ginny!\" Harry said, and kissed her passionately.
\"Wow!\" Ginny said, stepping back.
\"What?\" Harry asked.
\"You\'ve never kissed me like that before,\" Ginny said with astonishment.
\"Sorry,\" he said, and kissed her softer.
\"It\'s okay, just let me know next time or somet,\" ,\" Ginny said and kissed him back. \"Harry, why don\'t you open your letter?\" She suggested.
\"All right, all right,\" Harry said and opened his, and looked a bit upset.
\"What\'s wrong, Harry?\" Molly asked when she noticed his expression.
\"I didn\'t get Head Boy,\" he said and frowned.
\"I\'ll bet you anything that ferret boy bought his way into getting Head Boy,\" Hermione said and looked down at his letter.
\"I doubt it. He did have better grades than me. With his father and all,\" Harry said and just sat down.
\"Whatever, mate. How about we eat some lunch?\" Ron asked.
\"All right. Mrs. Weasley, would you mind making us some lunch?\" he asked.
\"I would be delighted!\" Molly gleamed and the kids went up to pack and came back down shortly afterwards to eat lunch.

\"Mr. Malfoy, your Father would like to see you,\" a house elf announced.
\"Thank you,\" Draco said and went downstairs to his father and mother at the table.
\"Here is your letter, son,\" Lucius said and handed the letter to him.
\"Thank you, Father,\" Draco said and opened the letter.
\"Dear Mr. Malfoy,
We are proud to announce that you have made Head Boy. You will meet the Head Girl in the compartment when you arrive at the Hogwarts Express. Congratulations!

Serverus Snape, Slytherin Head\"--
Dra Draco read to himself.
\"Father, Mum, I have made Head Boy,\" Draco said with an expression like \'dammit\'.
\'Potter should have gotten it. Now I will have to see that Mudblood every day,\' he thought.
\"Lets celebrate!\" Narcissa said with joy.
\"Draco, go get ready and be down here in an hour!\" Lucius said sternly and Draco went upstairs.
Before he got dresshe whe wrote a letter to Hermione.
\"Dear Miss Granger,
I thought I should let you know I got Head Boy. I thought that we could be on speaking terms or friends since we will have to live together for the school year, even if you are a Mudblood,\" he wrote, and sent it to her with an owl and a present enclosed with it.
\"DRACO, NOW!\" Lucius screamed.
\"Coming, sir,\" Draco said and got out his wand and shouted \'Accio Sports suit\' and his suit came flying to him. He did his hair and went downstairs.

\"Hermione, this came for you,\" Ginny said and passed her the letter.
\"It\'s from Malfoy!\" Ginny added and Hermione opened it up.
\"Dear Miss Granger,
I thought I should let you know I got Head Boy. I thought that we could be on speaking terms or friends since we will have to live together for the school year, even if you are a Mudblood.\"
Hermione read it in shock.
\"Wow! It was nice and all until he said that last part,\" Ginny said.
\"I know, throw the envelope out,\" Hermione said and handed it to her.
\"Wait, this was inside,\" Ginny said and handed her the present.
\"Whoa, I didn\'t expect a present. He gave me a friendship bracelet,\" Hermione said. \"I\'m going to reply to him and then go to bed.\" She got out her parchment and a quill.
\"Dear Draco,
I accept your offer as a friend. However, if we are going to be friends, you\'ll have to stop calling me a Mudblood. Thank you very much for the bracelet. I will always wear it.
Your new friend,
Hermione\"--
Draco read and thought, \'She called me Draco. That means something. And she said that she would wear the bracelet. Wow, what a great start!\'
