Harry Potter and the new Dark Lord

Chapter 1:

After leaving all his friends for a summer, which he had hoped would be drastically different from all the others at the Dursley’s, he was again let down terribly. And not by the Dursleys either, but by most of his friends. He knew he ought to be worried for the people such as the Weasleys, Hermione, Tonks, Lupin and Moody, seeing as they had not replied to any of his letters. Surely, he thought to himself, they would be worried about him and they had said they would check. He wasn\'t worried as much as he perhaps ought to be, due the only letter he had received had been from the most unlikely person on the planet, someone he thought despised him, this person is his formidable Potions teacher, Snape. When he had opened it he had been most surprised because there hadn’t only been a letter but a small parcel as well. In the parcel, which he tore open immediately, he found a couple of bottles, and attached to one of the bottles was a note saying:

Dear Mr. Potter,

I would not usually communicate with you, but I have too
and I thought I would sent you something nice.
(Well, actually Dumbledore asked me to and I obliged,
otherwise I would not waste my time seeing as I am
supposed to be dining with my new assistan)
You see, I am important enough to have one. I wonder how
miserable you are; probably very seeing as all
communication means are being checked. Anyway, in this
bottle, attached to my note, are some sweets as compliments from
your dearest headmaster and in the other bottle is
something to help your with grief.
(Although, I personally can’t see why you need it. Your god-
father always was a waste of space. But then again, so
are you.)
Incase you try to tell anyone how mean I was,
I put a spell on this letter. I will however tell you
one thing, there is not a point in trying to counter
my spell, because it is highly unlikely some might say
it’s impossible that a person like yourself could work out
a way to trick me or indeed my spell. Also may I
remind you that you are not allowed to use magic out
of Hogwarts anyway. And, although it would delight me to
see you expelled, everybody says “no harm may come to
you”. I for one, don\'t see why people fuss over you so
much.

Yours Sincerely,
Professor Snape.

Harry was not surprised by Snape\'s words. He always thought he was a heartless git and that what he had said he shouldn\'t let it get to him. But still, it did and he had still not read the main letter. He was so angry at him that he sent back a reply much like this:

Dear idiotic creep,

I can’t believe what a self-centred man you are and
when I get back you will pay. Oh and by the way, this
letter is also cursed and will disappear in one
second.

From a very mad Harry.

P.s: you’ll better be prepared for this term, because you
are going to wish you had never said anything. I am
going to make your life hell!

Moments later he got a reply saying:

Dear Mr potter,

I will not get mad. I will get even and I am fully
prepared, ready to get you expelled. Infact, you will
wish to leave before you can say dead godfather.

Yours Sincerely,
Your favourite Potions Master Snape.

P.S.: YOU ARE STUPID TO THINK YOU CAN DEFEAT ME, YOU
MORONIC CHEESE PUFF!!!

Harry was overwhelmed with anger and if Snape had walked in on that precise moment he would have been ready to him him. He silently vowed that he would get back on Snape for all the things he had done. He could now see why his father had hated Snape so much. As he thought of all the things he could do to Snape, to punish him for what he had said about his family, it dawned on him that maybe Snape had had to say these things because of Voldemort and the Death Eaters. Though, if he would be friends with Harry, it would stunt his chances of spying on Voldemort for Dumbledore. He was pretty sure that Snape would have thoughtfully enjoyed saying these things. So he decided he would not take action until the third day of school. This would give Snape a chance to apologise or a least explain himself, if he indeed had to say these things.

Harry then realised that he had not had his list of books that he needed before returning to school. As he had no idea where anyone was, apart from Snape because he had been the only one to write to him over the entire coarse of the holidays, he couldn’t know the list or get to the train station without his help. That was it. It was the only thing he could do. He would have to write to Snape and ask if he could come and collect him from the Durseley’s or ask someone else to collect him and take him to Diagon Alley. If he didn\'t do this, it could result in him not attending Hogwarts at the start of term. And no matter how much he hated Snape, he had to go to Hogwarts. After all, it was the only thing that made him happy. And nothing Snape could do, would change that.(Apart from not helping him get to Hogwarts in the fiplacplace.) So reluctantly Harry took his quill out of his bedside table and started planning what he would write. After several attempts he found the most satisfactory thing he could think of to say to Snape. His letter translated like this:

Dear professor Snape,

I am sorry if I have offended you in any way. It’s
just I got so mad and replied without thinking. I know
I should not take what people say to heart. After all,
I will probably have a lot of torment this term and I
do not want to react this way to all comments. So I
have decided to act like a grown up about this and I would be
delighted if you could except my apology. I also would
like to make a new start to our teacher/pupil
relationship. And to say just how sorry I am, I would
like to take you out for a Butter Beer in Diagon Alley.
The only thing is, I have no way to get to Diagon Alley or
Hogwarts. So I was wondering if you could get me there.
I would be very grateful. If you’re able to reply as
soon as possible I would be very happy.

Yours sincerely,
Harry Potter.

Harry felt twinges of guilt and anger as he wrote this letter because he did not really have any intention of apologising had it not been for his slight misfortune, in not being able to get there by himself.

Seconds later an owl whizzed in through his window and shook off a letter attached to its leg before disappearing almost immediately after looking at the half eaten mouse in Hegwig’s cage. Harry unwrapped the piece of parchment and stared at it, expecting to see a long gloating letter about how much he was needed. But he wasn\'t sure if he really wanted to help. But instead, all it said was:

Meet me by your fireplace in half an hour and make sure that your aunt, uncle and their son are not around.

SS.

Harry guessed that Snape must be arriving by floo. But surly the floo network was being observed. But then it hit him. Professor Umbridge had an office which no one could observe and Muggle fire places were not observed, so Snape could easily travel that way. Harry began to think that Snape might be cleverer than he seemed, but then snapped out of it. He
had so much to do and he could not afford to waste time thinking about how bright Snape was.

Before long everything was neatly packed and ready to go, all he had to do now was to get the Dursley’s out of the way. This proved to be more difficult than planned. But not a moment to soon he managed to get them to go out because there was a half price sale of food at Tesco’s. Just in time he just saw Mrs Dursley scrambling out of the door after her husband and son
as Snape arrived.
