How Soon is Now?
Chapter One; I am the Sun, I am the Air.
It’s four years since Hermione’s last year at Hogwarts. Everything was great. She had just turned 21 three short days ago.
She was sitting at home, reading a book three days after her birthday, when she heard a strange noise from her bedroom. She stood and looked at her door, hoping it was just Crookshanks. Hermione had been hearing about attacks in her apartment building. Girls were getting raped, and men were being murdered brutally. She wasn’t close to any of the people in her apartment, so she really didn’t care a whole lot. She felt bad, but not very bad. She had been thinking about moving but she was a witch after all.
Reality quickly hit Hermione and she panicked. Her wand was in her room, lingering on her bedside table. She didn’t know what to do except for leaving her apartment for the night. But she didn’t want her mother’s things to get stolen. Her mother had died two years ago and had left her all of her jewelry and priceless memorabilia. Hermione walked quietly over to her bedroom door and listened. She heard two voices and she felt her heart start to beat violently in her chest.
She walked quickly and quietly over to her kitchen that connected to the large living room she had recently occupied and grabbed a stake knife from its wooden holder on the white marble counter. She walked back over to the door and stood in front of it, listening through it with her ear to it.
“Is she here?” asked a quiet and squeaky voice.
“Yes, you nit wit. Be quiet so she doesn’t come in here. Wait. Look.” In five seconds, the door was open and there stood the man that Hermione knew as Peter Petigrew, and the man beside him was one Hermione hadn’t seen since graduation. Draco Malfoy. There he was, standing in all his handsome glory, holding her wand in one hand, and his wand in the other. He quickly put her own wand to her chest.
“Blank.” He said smirking. Hermione stood there staring at him and she looked down at her wand at her chest. The last thing she could remember was everything going dark, and her body hitting the floor.

Hermione woke up, looked around, and sighed. Her throat hurt and she was so cold, she couldn’t feel her hands or feet. She opened her eyes and looked at her hands and bare feet. They were purple! The ropes binding her were cutting off the circulation.
“Help!” Hermione yelled. She waited a few seconds. No sound. Nothing. She yelled again.
“Help me! Somebody! Please!” she screamed this time. A sound from behind her was sounded and she rolled over to see a large wooden door open and in popped Peterigreigrew’s head. He smiled at her but was pushed away from the door by someone and he stepped in, closing the door behind him. Draco Malfoy was standing there, wearing baggy blue jeans and a baby blue turtleneck. He had on black sunglasses and his hair was still slicked back. He walked over to her and untied her feet.
“Hello Granger. Have a nice sleep?” he asked her. Hermione glared at him and he only smirked bigger.
“No you ass. I’m in bloody fucking pain right now. Let me go this instant!” She yelled at him. He only chuckled at her. He bent down, resting his elbows on one of his knees and he looked down at her, shaking his head. “What?” she asked, an offended tone flew through her words.
“Oh nothing, Granger. You haven’t changed a god damn bit.” He said, taking her chin between his thumb and forefinger. He at her face, but not for long, for Hermione pulled her face from his hands and rolled away. When she stopped, she noticed he was still standing where she had left him.
“Since when is it Granger and not Hermione, Draco?” she asked sweetly. His smirk dropped and his eyes flashed dangerously. He stocked over to her, grabbed her shoulders, and pulled her from the cold ground and pushed her against the wall roughly. She whimpered in pain and closed her eyes.
“That was in the past, Granger. You might as well forget about WHATEVER happened in seventh year between us because if you don’t, I will kill you,” he threatened. Hermione whimpered again and she struggled not to cry from the pain on her arms.
“Fine.” She whispered.
“Good.” He dropped her and she fell roughly to the cold ground. “Elves!” he bellowed. Five female house elves scurried in and stood in front of the open door. “Clean her up, get her some clothes. After that, escort her to my room. Don’t tell anyone of this, not even my mother.” He instructed the little elves. “Now!” he yelled. The elves ran to Hermione, helped her to her now a bit lighter feet, and pulled her out of the dungeons. Before Hermione left the dungeon and out of Draco’s sight, she glared him down.
Sorry it was so short folks, but I just wanted to post the first part so you all could this part before the real story begins. I’m out and please review.
