No Longer Innocent *Complete*

Hermione lay in her bed with a cool cloth on her forehead and a saltine hanging from between her lips. She had just swallowed one and was waiting for the energy to start chewing the next. She had spent the last three hours lying on the cold tiles in her bathroom near the toilet alternating between vomiting and sleeping in fetal position. It had been like this for about a week now, she would either have nausea all day or throw up for a few hours and then be better.

“Are you doing better now?” Remus asked giving her a knowing smile “You looked pretty bad when I carried you in”

“I’m feeling a little bit better” She answered “Thank you” She heard him move away from the bed and walk to the door however someone else came barreling through the open door.

“Hermione!” Loki said “Are you okay, love?”

“I’m fine” Hermione said wearily.

“She is trying to rest” Remus told the other man “Leave and allow her that time”

“Don’t tell me what to do, werewolf” Loki sneered.

Hermione watched through cracked lids as they faced off, standing in the doorway facing one another. She noted that they were the same height, something that she had never really paid much attention to before. However, where Remus’s body was all hard muscle from the years of turning in to a monster and running long hard miles, Loki was long with lean muscles but he was softer than Remus was and Hermione knew that it wouldn’t be a very good fight, especially when Loki wouldn’t be fighting fair.

The sudden image of Remus and Loki locked in battle assaulted Hermione’s eyes. They would be yelling of course but she wouldn’t hear what they were saying, they would be shirtless...possibly naked...wrestling, panting maybe even moaning. Her eyes widened and she herself was panting at the image brought before her, maybe she would be allowed to join them, get in the middle, watch the sweat roll down their tightly coiled muscles...her eyes snapped open and her mouth dropped in horror. She knew why this thought had come to her and that realization both made her happy and terrified.

“Oh my god” Hermione said, shocking both of them in to looking at her “I’m pregnant!”

“What?” Loki asked looking at her while Remus nodded with a grin on his face “How...when?” He turned to Remus “YOU SON OF A BITCH” He grabbed his shirt and slammed him in to the wall “You touched her didn’t you?”

“You and I had sex last month” Hermione said calmly “But thanks for your overwhelming trust” She rolled on to her other side.

Remus had asked to stay with Hermione when he figured out the game. He promised Loki that he would protect her from everything including other men, he knew the jealous and possessive streak that the god had so it made no sense that he was shocked that his finding out that Hermione was pregnant made him think that Remus was the father. He knew that he should have written to him to tell him that happy news right off the bat. Now they were snipping and snapping at each other again, sometimes he wondered if they were meant to be together.

“Are they fighting again?” A voice asked.

“Yes” Remus said “How are you, Thor?”

“I’m okay” He answered “My wife is expecting our first child”

“Hermione is pregnant as well” Remus told him “That’s why they are fighting. Loki automatically thought that it was me that impregnated her”

“He’s always so jealous” Thor answered “It’s not a good thing”

“How are they supposed to be together if all they do is fight?” Remus asked.

“Because that is how their relationship works, I imagine” Thor answered “I just came here to make sure that all is well between the two and judging by the silence I can only imagine they are...er...working it out”

“Guess I’m on baby-sitting duty” Remus stated.

“When do you turn next?” Thor asked with interest.

“Tomorrow night” Remus answered looking towards the sky “I change here in the woods and run around in the dark”

“What about Lidia, she’s so close” Thor asked “Aren’t you worried?”

“I was but I’ve been here for two full moons and nothing bad has happened so far” Remus answered “We haven’t kept what I am a secret from her, she knows what happens to me and she knows what could happen to her if she were to leave the house at night on a full moon”

“I guess that’s best” Thor looked around the yard “Where is she?”

“Luna and Ron’s house” Remus informed “She wanted to apologize to Luna for being so mean and she wants to see her friends before school starts up”

“Will she be attending a muggle school?” Thor asked.

“No” Remus shook his head “Loki and Hermione fought about it many times but while her friends will all be going to the same school she will be attending an all-witches elementary school”

“Why all-witch?” The blond god asked.

“Loki wanted her to be with her friends” Remus explained “But Lidia tends to get in to wars with her friends and they spend more time trying to outdo them and Hermione was worried that she wouldn’t study enough with them around” He smiled “So finally Loki gave in and said that she could go to the all-witches school as long as she didn’t have to live there like a boarding school”

“He does know that when she’s eleven she will be going away, right?” Thor asked.

“Yes, but he claims he doesn’t want to let her go until he’s ready for it” Remus laughed “Who’d have thought that he’d be such a softie?”

“Certainly no one in Asguard” Thor laughed aloud “They all thinks he’s a villain” He looked thoughtful a little “Not as much as before but they still strongly dislike him”

“I can’t really blame them” Remus said “He’s kind of a dick”

“He always has been” Thor answered with a grin “But he is my brother, so no more bad mouthing”

“Wouldn’t dream of it” Remus promised.

“Good luck with changing” Thor told him as he started to walk away “And don’t hurt Hermione, my brother or my niece...or I will kill you”
