Hermione scribbled in a small notebook with her pen. "Alright, Harry. So you feel compelled to touch him. When you fight it, it causes you physical pain. When you do," Here she shot him a stern look. "Which I still say should NOT have happened. But when he does, it's like being hit by lightening."

Harry nodded, carding a hand through his hair. "Yeah. It felt so perfect, so right...for a few days after, the compulsion was almost unnoticeable. I could eat and sleep like normal again. But now..." It's been a week since the Ball and Harry was slowly sleeping and eating less and less. "It's getting bad again. He said there's a way to make it go away permanently, but he didn't say how. Or even what IT is!"

"Don't worry." Hermione said soothingly. "I have a feeling I know who to ask." She smiled at Harry's panicked look. "And I know not to mention names to those who don't know. So calm down." Harry nodded and Herm rushed off to find Draco Malfoy.

Hermione threw the notebook onto the table in front of Draco. "Alright, explain. What is it and what stops it?"

Draco read the notebook, and sighed. "Alright, it's kind of a long story, though, so sit down. And before I tell you," He added with a sharp look as she sat down across from him. "Swear you won't tell Ginny."

"Okay, I swear I won't tell Gin." Hermione was frowning, but she agreed because she'd promised Harry she'd find out what was going on. "So, start talking, Malfoy."

"It started hundreds of years ago." He started, closing his eyes as he spoke. "Purebloods, or at least the dark ones, were running out of options for marriage. They wanted their offspring to only marry those who were deemed magically worthy, but they also didn't want inbreeding. It would defeat the purpose by weakening any offspring, both physically and magically. So, the heads of the families got together and came up with a solution.

"They would place a spell on their children when they were born. On the child's seventeenth birthday, the spell would begin to search for the person most-compatible with that child. Magic-wise, anyway. Once the spell chooses, both people feel an urge to be with the other one. Unless they aren't both seventeen. Then the one who's not seventeen won't feel it until they are.

"The person who has the spell cast on them only feels a minimal need. They can ignore it quite easily. If both people have it cast on them, they can both ignore it. However, since most Dark purebloods have no reason to object to the spell, since it chooses their best magical match, they don't need the spell to convince them.

"However, if the spell chooses someone who doesn't have it on them, the person it chooses will feel compelled, to an almost insanity-inducing point, to claim their partner." He sighed, then continued. "Most purebloods use that compulsion to their advantage if they're paired with someone who doesn't have the spell cast on them.

"Sev is too stubborn and controlled to give in to his compulsion, and he won't let Potter give in either. I don't know if it'll hurt Potter, though, beyond the pain in his stomach when he's around Sev and can't touch him. Other then the whole distracting him to the point of not eating or sleeping thing, I mean."

Hermione nodded, then inquired. "And would you use that compulsion to your advantage?"

"No." Draco replied without hesitation. "And before you ask, yes, that's why I wanted a date with Ginny" He sighed again. "She won't feel the affects of the spell until she's seventeen. I want her to care before then."

Hermione smiled sympathetically. "You know, Malfoy, you aren't so bad. And I don't think Snape is either. But his stubbornness is hurting my best friend. He kissed Harry and...and a bit more...but it made the longing go away. For a little while, anyway. Will sex make it stop for good?"

Draco shook his head. "Unfortunately, no. Sex isn't enough. They need to marry." When Hermione started to protest, Draco held up a hand. "There is another way, but it's...tricky. And not much better."

"Anything's better then having Harry marry him." She stated calmly. "What is it?"

"Well, we have to brew a potion, convince Harry to drink it, and within twenty-four hours get him and Sev to have sex. Potter HAS to bottom." Hermione blushed, but Draco pushed forward with determination. "Potter will get pregnant and the compulsion will end. But," He added quickly. "If Sev EVER found out that Potter had his child, he'd demand they marry."

Hermione chewed her lower lip. "I'll run both ideas by Harry. See what he wants to try to pull off." She stood and turned to leave, then stopped.

She walked over to Draco and hugged him tightly. "Gin will end up loving you, Draco." She stated, calmly using his given name. "It's just how she is. If she loves you, you'd better love her. Because if you hurt her, I'll kill you."

"Don't worry." Draco smiled softly. "I wouldn't dream of hurting her. She's...well on her way to making me love her. But tell her, and I'll swear you're a dirty, rotten liar."

Hermione laughed. "Alright, I won't say a word. I'll come find out after I talk to Harry, so I'll see you later. And good luck, Draco."

"Thanks. I have a feeling I'm going to need it." As she walked away, Draco called out after her. "Goodbye, Hermione."
