Chapter IX
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
Hello Dears. Most of you support the scrap and redo if I feel it is good. I will save that project for later.
margaritama - Your criticism was helpful. I would never see it as a flame if someone says why they don't like or don't get it. It is a flame if it is just someone saying "it's stupid. I hate it. All eight chapters sucked..." Not trying to make excuses...but this is the first time I've had something this 'mystery like' and I'm not very good at it. Answering the mysteries I mean. I am thinking over your ideas and thinking of how best to accomplish them...because I agree.
LaBib. - Well, this chapter isn't too much better. Hermione eats an egg which is half a baby chicken. Horrible. J/K, but not about an egg being half a baby chicken in essence. Time travel is always like a pretzel.

Draco walked into his parents’ tearoom.
“Father, Mother, where are you?”
“Yes, my darling,” his mother said, standing up.
Draco wrapped his arms around her.
“Mother, something detrimental has happened that could affect me,” Draco moaned. “I want to be born.”
“Oh, Baby.” She stroked his hair. “Sit down, and tell me.”
Draco sat next to his mother, allowing her to pick a few bits of fluff out of his hair, combing it with her fingers.
“Well, you’re a very stubborn teenager. And you didn’t go back with Father.”
“And…”
“Mother, you’re being flippant. I’m very upset.”
“I told you that there is nothing to worry about, my dragon.”
“But you should have gone to the past with Father. You are a stubborn teenager.”
“Draco Malfoy, don’t you take that petulant tone of voice with me.”
“Sorry, Mother. I just want to be born.”
“And you will be, my darling. Nothing bad will happen.”
“Okay,” Draco said, taking the tea, sweet cakes, and cucumber sandwiches that his mother offered him.

Hermione sat down at the breakfast table, looking about. Where was Lucius? He better not still be asleep. It was extremely unlike him to oversleep.
She stared at the door, waiting as her fried egg and toast became cold.
She stood. She slung her bag on her shoulder. She walked from the room. She slipped up a back stairwell, taking the steps two at a time. She entered through the back door to the commonroom.
She went to Lucius’ door. She knocked.
“I know you’re mad at me. But you have to come out and go to class.”
No response.
“Please, I’m sorry for not believing you.”
Hermione test turned the doorknob. It opened.
“Lucius,” Hermione said, looking around.
Her breaths shortened as saw the stripped down bed and no trunk and a bare desk.
“Finite incantatem,” Hermione said, closing her eyes.
She opened her eyes. The room looked the same.
“Lucius, this isn’t funny,” Hermione said, stomping her foot and leaving the room. “Fine, be late to class. Move out of our shared room. Go share a room with filthy children.”

Hermione walked into dinner. She looked around, pinching her lips together. Where was he? He hadn’t been around all day. It wasn’t that she minded working on the projects alone. Each of them had worked some on the projects alone and filled the other in later.
“CAW! Caw.”
Hermione looked up as a raven landed in front of her.
“Caw,” it said, holding up a leg.
Hermione undid the note.
“Thank you.”
It flapped away toward the professor’s table. It landed on Severus’ shoulder.

Lucius paced his room at the Manor. He stopped to observe himself in the mirror. His high cheekbones stuck out a little more than they usually did. He leaned forward sitting down in a chair, his arms supporting his whole weight.
“Lucius, my darling,” a witch said, walking into the room.
She moved to him quickly, cupping his chin and tilting his head up so he looked at her.
“Mother, is there anything I can do for you?”
“We’ve not seen you for several days. You disappeared at Narcissa’s graduation.”
“I felt nauseated, perhaps the scallops that I had at the graduation dinner before hand weren’t properly cooked. I hope I didn’t offend.”
“I only worried that something was wrong. You are the dearest one to my heart.”
“I know. I—”
“You can tell me anything.”
“I know. But there is nothing that can be done.”
She stroked his cheeks.
“You look so weary and sad since we found you wandering the grounds of Hogwarts. You seem older somehow. Different.”
Lucius shifted away from his mother.
“Sometimes a fleeting moment is all it takes.”
His mother sat back.
“Shall I call for some tea and savories for you?”
“I’m not hungry.”
“You’ve not eaten since the Graduation. You need your strength for your nuptials.”
“I don’t want to marry that witch. Must I go through with it?”
“Your father said that you had become accustomed to the idea. Is this not so?”
“I don’t love her.”
“I didn’t love your father when we married. I barely liked him to tell you truly. I thought we would always be cold. But we’ve found a deep friendship.”
“I hate Narcissa.”
Lucius walked to his bed and crawled onto it, collapsing length ways.
“I want you to be happy.”
“Narcissa will never make me happy. She only wants money. All she sees is a giant walking Gringotts vault.”
She walked to the bed.
“I will speak with your father. I’m sure he will not force this marriage given your feelings.”
She kissed Lucius’ temple.
“He will not. It doesn’t matter…doesn’t matter. It won’t work out. It isn’t fair.”
“What isn’t, my darling? I will be sure to get you whatever you want.”
She brushed her son’s hair back.
“It will sound crazy,” Lucius said.
“Please tell me. We’ve always shared with each other. I don’t like the void that’s growing between us.”
“I fell in love. I know I wasn’t supposed to,” Lucius said. He began to gush like a squeezed snidget.
His mother held him, petting his hair while he spoke.
“She said she loved me, but she wouldn’t follow me back.”
