Hermione surrendered her cloak with a wary look of gratitude toward Draco and in return she recieved a small but equally wary smile.

Hermione was surprised at the beauty of the smile and the stirring she felt having seen it, it made Draco seem warmer and not at all like the snotty brat that Hermione had known through school and she wondered just how much Draco had changed over the last few years.

"Come with me" Snape broke into her thoughts about Draco and his smile he was heading to a large dinning room, Hermione gasped as she walked in and spotted the table.

Covered in a white cloth the table was set for four the plates whe the largest Hermione had ever seen and the silverware had been polished to and inch of it's exsistance. As they approached the table dishes of food appeared and it all smelt wonderful. Hermione reached for her chair but Draco beat her to it pulling the seat out for her and once she sat he pushed her gently to the table.

Hermione looked along the table there was so much food she could hardly believe that it was meant merely for the three of them. She looked at the dishes there was chilli with fluffy lime and corriander rice, Roast chicken, potatoes, green beans, brocoli, carrots, stuffing, ther was also a lage pot of beef stew and dumplings Hermione settled on the stew when she realized that the other people in the room were waiting for her to take what she wanted.

Having taken a generous amont Hermione waited for the others to pick what they wanted and to her surprise and amusement they both took the stew, she also felt a prang of guilt that they had done this no doubt the house elves had worked really hard on the food and now it would probibly go to waste as she dobted they would be allowed to eat it.

The first course was finished in silence and once they were done Snape tapped the top of the table once and the dishes were replaced by desserts, Hermione looked over the table her mouth watering at what she saw there were desserts of all sorts from apple pie to black forest gateau in the end though she had the key lime pie and Draco the apple pie Severus had some of the cheese and crackers.

Once dinner was over Severus flicked his wand over the table and the food dissapeared and four glasses and a bottle of plum wine replaced them it was then that Lucius Malfoy entered the room.

"Father!" Draco loooked almost overjoyed to see the older wizard and Hermione flashed Severus a small grin and a raised eyebrow, Snape shrugged then said "welcome home Lucius" and Hermione was sure had she and Draco not been there that Severus would have kissed the blonde.

Lucius looked around at the them then he spotted Hermione stepping toward her she stepped back a little in to something hard and a reassuring hand rested on her shoulder she realised that Draco now stood behind her but when had he moved?

At the same moment Lucius was taking her hand and he gently raised it to his lips kissing it gently before he said "Welcome to our humble abode I trust you have eaten well?"

Hermione felt her cheeks redden slightly, the meal had in fact been better then anything Mrs. Weasley had cooked over the last few weeks and she was a good cook " Yes Mr Malfoy i enjoyed my lunch thank you. Your elves are fantastic cooks"

To her surprise Lucius threw back his head and laughed Draco and Severus joined him and Hermione stood there puzzled as to what she had said that had set them off. Lucius was the first to recover "Forgive us Miss Granger it's just the elves here couldn't cook an egg"

"Then who co-?" Hermione started to ask.

"I did" was all Snape replied.


A litlle later on after Lucius had eaten and Hermione had gotten over the shock of learning that the senior Malfoy was in fact vegetarian the group sat in the lounge just off of the dinnig room.

"Now Miss Granger I would assume that you want dearly to know why you are here?" Lucius stated
"It had crossed my mind Mr. Malfoy"
"Lucius" he told her before he reached in to his robes and pulled out three small bottles all of which Hermione realised contained a memory "Here you and Draco need to see these, you'll find a pensieve in my study"

Handing the bottles to Hermione he said "off you both go" and once they had left the room he pulled Severus to him and kissed him lightly on the nose.

"Careful my dear" Snape whispered "Don't bite off more then you can chew" then he kissed him back.
