Snape Meets the Neighbor
A/N: Dedicated to TrickieWoo who only likes her Snape snarky and hetero. Did not meet the two hundred word guideline on this one. My apologies to all.
Snape Meets the Neighbor
“Mr. Snape!”
The insistent pounding on his door would not stop – no matter that he had ignored the waspish voice of his newest neighbor and her infernal rapping at his door for the last week.
“MR. SNAPE! I know full well you are at home. I demand you answer this door!” The woman’s shrill voice sent an involuntary shiver down his spine.
Glowering in the direction of the door, he deftly finished chopping his latest potions ingredient the wiped his hands on a pristinely white towel.
Moving stealthily towards the front of his home, he cocked his head to peep through the panes on the side of the door. At least, only her voice is unpleasant, he mused.
Turning the brass knob, he pulled the door open only the slightest amount to peer through the crack, scowling while he growled at the blonde woman on his stoop, “Yes?”
She jumped, hand flying to her throat, forcing her arm across her ample bosom. “Mr. Snape?”
“Yes,” he repeated himself with unreserved distaste.
“I wish to discuss your crab apple tree, sir.” The blonde stammered slightly, staring into his eyes. “It is encroaching on my side of the fence!”
“Indeed?” purred the Potions master as he stepped out into the full sunlight to study her better. “And my tree’s encroachment is troublesome to you?” As if to emphasize his point, he stepped ever closer to her, fixing her with his glare.
“Well, yes, there are apples everywhere.”
“I suggest: a pie,” he intoned threateningly as he stepped back into the shadows and slammed the door.
Crab apple pie? Is he insane?” thought the woman as she harrumphed her way back to her house. “Well, if it is pie he wants. Pie he’ll get. She smiled, an evil, triumphant sort of smile, opened her garden gate and began to collect the offending apples from the ground once more.
