Epilogue

Six years later…

Hermione had finished up early and had arrived at the villa in time to see Severus Snape and Lucius Malfoy draped in pink and yellow boas, as they were sipping nonexistent tea from tiny porcelain teacups. If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she would never have believed it! Oh to have a camera, she thought wickedly even as she went over and slipped her arm around Lucius’s shoulders.

“Oh the blackmail I could have had if only I had a camera,” she purred against his ear, kissing his cheek.

“Mummy!” Drusilla exclaimed, jumping up and running over to her mother who took her into her arms and hugged her tightly. “I missed you so much!”

“And I missed you,” Hermione whispered, kissing her all over her face. “Now, what did I say about turning your big, brown eyes on defenseless men?”

She pouted. “But, Mummy, you and auntie Luna and uncle Harry weren’t here.”

“Yes, beloved, I know, but if you keep doing this, Mummy is going to blackmail uncle Severus with pictures of him wearing a pink feather boa.” Severus let out a growl. “And even though that would be oh so sweet on some levels, it just wouldn’t be nice.” She tickled the little girl. “So stop tempting your mummy!”

The little girl laughed joyously, escaping over to her uncle Severus. She asked him quietly, “Would you like the purple one better, uncle Severus?”

Melting inside a little, he murmured, “I’m fine with this one, little bit.”

“Can you keep her occupied while I deal with her potentially blackmailing mother?” Lucius asked him even as he was picking Hermione up and carrying her away.

Drusilla rolled her eyes and said in a tired, yet dramatic voice, “Draco is so right about them. They carry on like teenagers!”

Holding back his mirth he told her, “If you behave, I just might find those chocolate digestives you were looking for earlier.”

“So?” Lucius asked her once they were in the shower.

“As we suspected, they did offer the position to me,” she told him as she was scrubbing his back. “Unfortunately I had to graciously decline.”

“What?” he asked startled, turning around to face her. “But you wanted that post as head of the legal department…” He paused and looked her over. “There was something else you wanted to tell me, wasn’t there?”

“As a matter of fact, yes, there is,” she murmured, sliding her arms around his neck. “Luna and I went to the mediwitch. She wanted me to be tested for an infection from a bite of some beast I nor anyone else has ever heard of before and she was sorely disappointed to find out that I was merely pregnant.”

“Oh, is that all?” he asked, in an exaggerated tone even as joy lit his silver eyes.

Smiling she nodded. “Yes, that’s all.”

“Whatever happened to having a child every five years? It’s only been three since we had Drusilla,” he murmured.

Smiling she told him, “You remember that night about three weeks ago? Draco and Harry babysat for us and we celebrated every single minute of the time away from our darling imp?”

He smiled wickedly. “I most certainly do.”

“In our wine and sex soaked night, we forgot the pregnancy charms,” she told him. “It didn’t occur to me until later.” Hermione took his hand and pressed it to her womb. “I’ve come to a decision, Mr. Malfoy.”

“And what is that, Mrs. Malfoy?”

“Every three years works better for me,” she told him, kissing his lips lightly. “Happy anniversary, my love.”

His arms went around her body. “Happy anniversary, my sweet.”

THE END!!
