Ch 9
Thanks for all the reviews, unfortunately pairing Hermione and Lanna would totally ruin the plot that I planned out. Don't worry I sat long and hard thinking of a way to fix the problem. And I've come up with a solution that is probably just as good (I hope).
Hermione just sat in the common room watching her watch. She was so excited to go to the order meeting that even reading couldn't distract her. However she wasn't distracted enough not to mull over what Ron had said at dinner. Ron...honestly the crush she had on Ron had been short lived in third year and had started to reappear during fifth year. But after what he said...what a jerk.
Ginny flounced down on the sofa next to Hermione. "Whatcha thinkn' about?"
"Nothing much. So...how's it going with that girl you said you liked?" The Gryffindors were very busy partying their return to school to notice the conversation happening on the sofa.
Ginny blushed, "Well, I dunno...I think she's straight. And even if she wasn't, we'd be dating in secret and I'd be fawning all over Harry. You know my mother's been talking to Dumbledore about me and Harry? Mom's like planning out the nursery decor already! What would she do if I told her I was gay?"
Hermione bit her lip, "Well, most conservative parents are upset at first, but then they get used to it."
Ginny rolled her eyes, "You don't believe that, but thanks for trying to comfort me. My mom would disown me and kick me to the curve. You know that better than anyone! Look at what happened to the twins when they told her they were gay. It was the most obvious thing in the world, yet she disowned them. They even had to change the name of their shop!"
Hermione flinched, it was true...so what could Ginny do, "I'm sorry, Gin."
Ginny sighed looking down at her lap, "Me too."
Hermione sighed, she was so jealous of Ginny's hair. It had flounce, and shone even in dim light. All Hermione wanted to do was run her hands through it, she bet it would feel like silk. And she was so pretty too; perfectly shaped lips, pale skin with light barely noticeable freckles dusted over her nose and cheeks, and sparkling blue eyes. She was so jealous.
"So...you still have the hots for my brother?" Ginny giggled.
Hermione raised an eyebrow, "After what he said at dinner? I'd be an idiot."
"Aw, 'Mione, you're so loyal to Harry! Maybe you've got the crush on him?"
"Eh, not really. I mean he's fit, his eyes are gorgeous and everything...it's just he's like a brother to me."
Ginny nodded "Yeah, I think even if I were straight, he'd be a brother figure. But I overheard you guys are going to get to go to a meeting!"
Hermione blinked, "You're to good at eavesdropping. It's at ten."
Ginny grinned, "Oooo, a whole hour away! No wonder you're not in a book."
Hermione smiled, "You know me too well! It's almost like I'm the one that you are infatuated with!"
"Ha, my bad!"
