Susan Bones

Beta'd by: Meagan! Thanks so very much!!!!
A/N: Okay, so with a boost from Meagan, Ebony came back to this story. The revenge idea was something she gave me. Ya know, against Terry. I apologize to you now for what I've done to Susan. It was designed to make the girls even more angry at Terry and it works, trust me. And to clear it up now, Becca and Hermione didn't find Pansy in her dorm room, they found her in the Entrance Hall, remember? Finally, I realized something today thanks to Meagan, again. I made Terry Boot a Prefect when he wasn't to begin with. Anthony Goldstein was the Ravenclaw Prefect. In light of this, I saw screw Anthony Goldstein 'cause I don't even really remember that guy. I had to look him up. Let's ignore him and pretend I was right to begin with.

Hermione, Pansy, and Becca hurried to Susan's prefect room that she shared with Pansy only to find that she wasn't there.

"Shit! Where could she have gone?" Becca turned to the other two.

"Terry's room," Hermione declared after a moment or two.

"Why would she have gone there?" Pansy asked.

"Because she caught them in her bed. She's in his room, I'd bet on it," Hermione insisted.

"Let's go then!" Pansy demanded. The three of them turned and sprinted to Terry's room. Hermione gave the portrait the password; being Head Girl had its advantages.

"Which way?" Becca asked, staring at the two staircases.

"Hermione, go that way. Becca, come with me," Pansy decided. Hermione went up the right stairs while Becca and Pansy took the left.

Hermione found her. "In here!" She shouted. "Susan? Susan!" Smelling the blood on the bed she ran to her side. "Susan?" She knelt on the bed, heedless of her hunger, and saw Susan's wounds and knife.

She'd slit both of her wrists, all the way to the elbow, and stabbed herself in the right side. "Hermione?" Pansy asked.

"I think she's dead," Hermione pressed a hand to Susan's chest. She didn't want to admit that she couldn't hear a heart beat or feel the air that should've been passing through Susan's lungs.

"No! She can't be!" Pansy and Becca joined her on the bed and Pansy started trying to make Susan breathe.

Becca laid her head on Susan's chest. "Gods, we're too late," She whispered.

"Shut up, Becca! Don't say that, not yet," Pansy demanded fiercely.

"We have to get Dumbledore. We have to tell him," Hermione got off of the bed and away from Susan's blood. She realized than that she was covered in it, all of them were. Gathering her wits, Hermione pulled out her wand and sent her Patronus to Dumbledore. Knowing she couldn't avoid the blood as she was already covered in it, Hermione went back to her place on the bed beside Susan and waited, tears streaming down her face. Normally she would've tried to hide them but there was already so much blood that no one would notice a little extra from her tears.

"Miss Granger, what is...? Oh gods, is that Susan Bones?" Dumbledore and McGonagall were both there.

"Yes," Hermione responded softly. "We found her like this," A shared look with Pansy told Hermione that they weren't going to tell their teachers why she'd done it. They would deal with it themselves and couldn't have an authority figure who knew about it.

"Girls, I need you to come with me. We need to take you to the nurse," McGonagall tried to usher them out.

"Why? We're not physically hurt, there's nothing she can do for us," Pansy insisted.

"Girls, we need to call Susan's parents. It would be best if you went to clean yourselves up," Dumbledore spoke gently, not wanting to anger the three girls.

Hermione nodded and pulled the other two out of the room with her. "Hermione!"

"No, Becca. We have to get clean and then we have to plan our revenge. He's not getting away with this."

"It'll have to be something that'll make a profound mark," Pansy responded.

"We'll find the perfect curse. Until then, he can't get another girlfriend, we can't let this happen again," All three girls had hollow looks to their eyes and were heedless of the stares they were getting from their classmates.

The three girls were being bombarded with enormous amounts of emotion as the realization of Susan's death hit them full force. Pansy immediately started panicing. "Oh gods, I can't go back to my dorm. There's no way. And I can't go back to the Slytherin common room. I've been cast out of there."

"Relax, Pansy. We'll find something for you," Hermione assured her in her very comforting nature. Pansy nodded.

The three of them made their way to the Prefects bath. Thankfully, there were a few shower stalls in the bathroom instead of just one big bath tub. Having realized that they didn't have a change of clothes they only removed their shoes and socks and stepped, fully dressed, into the shower stalls. Hermione turned the water on as hot as she could stand it and stood under the spray, willing it to completely wash the scent of Susan's blood out of her clothes.

An hour later, each girl looked clean. Becca departed from Pansy and Hermione and went to the Ravenclaw common room. Pansy and Hermione, still soaking wet, went to Hermione's dorm. On the way, they ran into Ginny, Dean, Draco, and Blaise.

"Why are you two soaked?" Ginny asked, wrapping an arm around her girlfriend anyway.

"We heard about Susan. Everyone has by now," Dean stated softly.

"What kind of rumours are they spreading about her? That she's always been suicidal? Or maybe she'd gotten a hold of muggle drugs and couldn't get anymore so she offed herself?" Pansy was instantly furious.

"No, nothing like that. Everyone's wondering what could've happened to such a wonderful person to make her want to do that," Dean, like the Gryffindor he was, stood his ground.

"Oh," Just as quickly as it had come, Pansy's fury was gone.

"Are Charlie and Mickey still here?" Hermione asked.

"Yes," Ginny answered.

"Dean, could you go get Charlie for me, please?" She asked.

"Sure thing," Dean ran off to find the second oldest Weasley.

"Why do you need Charlie?" Pansy asked.

"I'm hungry," Hermione answered shortly. She looked at Draco and Blaise, silently asking if they'd told Pansy that they were vampires. She received nods from both of them.

Hermione and Pansy both sat on the couch as soon as they entered the dorm. Ginny released Pansy and ran into Hermione's room to get her dagger. Charlie entered the room shortly after that, Dean and Mickey behind him.

"Sweetie, what is it?" Mickey asked immediately.

"There was so much blood and I'm so hungry," She eyed Charlie's arm. He merely nodded, took the dagger from Ginny, knelt in front of Hermione and slid the blade across his wrist. Hermione bent and drank her fill from her friend's arm.

When she broke away, Pansy was looking at her with something like sympathy. "You were completely covered, we all were. Are you okay?"

"I am now. Well, my hunger is at any rate," The blood welled up in her eyes and threatened to spill over into tears again as she thought about Susan.

"You cry blood," Pansy stated. "I don't understand why. I mean, Blaise and Draco don't."

"That's because we're only half, Pans. Hermione's a full-blooded vampire," Blaise answered.

"We'll talk more about it another day though. Not right now," Draco insisted.

The next day, there was a memorial service for Susan Bones. Hermione, Becca, and Pansy stood beside Amelia Bones, Susan's aunt. Amelia had raised Susan after her parents had died; her father in the first war and her mother in child birth a few months later.

"Miss Bones, we will get revenge for Susan on the one who caused this. I swear it," Hermione promised her fiercely.

"Be careful, girls," Was all the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement said to the three girls.

A few hours later, Becca, Pansy, and Hermione were sitting by the lake, not speaking to each other. "We should do something for Susan. To make sure we never forget what happened, no matter how old we get or far away we go," Becca stated.

After that, they weren't sure who suggested getting a tattoo in each of the three places she'd cut or stabbed herself, but that was what they decided to do. They didn't bother trying to sneak out; they just walked off the castle grounds and into Hogsmeade. They decided on roses. The thorns of each rose looked like they were stabbing into their flesh and there were tattooed drops of blood under each thorn. Pansy got hers on her left forearm, Becca got hers on her right, and Hermione got hers on her right side.

Hermione walked Pansy to Gryffindor Tower later that night. She was going to stay in the girl's dorm there. Pavati and Lavender had already transfigured a bed in Hermione's old spot for her.

"You can't bring one of those snakes in here!" Ron was shouting at Lavender and Pavati when the two of them entered the common room.

"We can, and we are, Ronald!" Lavender shouted right back.

"I am completely horrified to call you my brother, Ron. We were raised not to believe in anything like this. Our parents taught us that we have to get to know someone before we can hate them. You're no better than a Death Eater with that kind of thinking, Ron," Charlie's voice was perfectly calm but he was practically vibrating with anger. "And Harry, I'm so disappointed in you. You of all people should know what it's like to be judged on something you have no control over, like your parents," Charlie turned like he was about to leave and stopped when he saw Hermione and Pansy there.

"Thank you, Charlie. You didn't have to do that," Pansy smiled slightly at him.

"How are you both?" Pavati approached them.

They shared a look and Hermione answered, "We'll be okay, I think."

"Come on, Pansy. The dorm's this way," Lavender led her away, Pavati following them.

"'Mione?" Charlie had walked to the Tower entrance and looked back for Hermione.

She was staring at Ron with something akin to loathing. "How could you possibly do that to Pansy? You would want her to stay in the dorm she used to share with Susan after we found her body yesterday?" Pansy had stayed in Draco and Hermione's dorm the night before.

"For all we know, she's the one who killed her," Ron stated, smug that he'd thought of a possibility Hermione obviously hadn't.

Hermione's eyes blazed and she punched him in the face. "You have no idea what happened, Ronald. I was there with Pansy when we found Susan. She tried to save her life!" Hermione turned abruptly on her heel, robes flaring behind her, and stalked out of the Tower.

"Hermione, are you okay?" Charlie asked.

"No. I'm not speaking to Ron anymore. Not until he gets it through his thick skull that just because they're Slytherins, it doesn't mean they're evil," She was still furious.

"Okay. Do you want me to write to Mum about him and Harry?" Charlie asked.

"That is entirely up to you, Charlie. He's your idiot."

A/N: Okay, so with any luck, I won't ever take as long to update again. I am sorry for that. Once again, Meagan, thanks for the ideas you gave me. They're very helpful!
