Shadows Fall

Chapter 9:Damaged

As Snape took Layla back to her room, she still wasn’t all there. While her body may have been walking, her mind was indeed very far far away. For what Voldemort had said to her triggered the last remaining memory of that fateful night with Lucius…

*Flashback*

Layla realized her mistake too late, after she bit Lucius’ tongue. “You miserable little bitch! How dare you?!” He shouted at her making some of the blood from him mouth hit her face. Piercing blue/grey eyes shot back at him, trying very hard to suppress all fear.“ I would gladly do it to you again…asshole!” Lucius was beyond furious, so much so that he undid the whip in his hand, while slowly advancing towards Layla.

Layla held her head high, and even when the whip came down on her and cut into her flesh, she didn’t scream or beg for him to stop. She won’t give him the bloody satisfaction of knowing he was the dominant one. After ten hits, Lucius stopped and stared at his artwork. A dark smile appeared on his face, “My dear you do indeed resemble that of a blood spattered angel.” It was indeed true, for there were slashes everywhere upon Layla’s body. Even her face had traces of slash marks on it. Her blood and the soundless tears from her eyes mixed together, also made it appear like she was glowing with an eerier light.

Lucius grinned coldly, “So my dear, have we learned are lesson?”

Blue/grey eyes slowly looked at him, and Layla said raspy, “Your still…an ass…” Lucius’ pale white skin went red with angry. “I will beat the respect into you, and you will learn dispend!” He stormed quickly over to her, and Layla excepting more whiplashes, closed her eyes, but when moments past and she didn’t feel the sting of the whip she opened her eyes. Their stood Lucius not even an inch away from her face, and he had a smile on his face that sent cold shivers down Layla’s spine. He quickly took her head and pushed Layla as far down as the chains would permit her, right onto his throbbing member. An evil smile appeared on Lucius’ face, “Oh yes… you will learn..no matter how long it takes…”

*End of Flashback*

Layla finally awoke from her trance like state, and wiped away the tears that had unknowingly fallen. It was only when she cleared her head some more that she realized she was already laying once more in the comfy bed from before. How long was I out of it? The last thing I remember was exchanging “friendly” words with Voldemort.. Did what he say affect me so much that he sent me back here? Why does he care? Won’t he have taken this opportunity to finally kill me? As usually too many questions filled Layla’s mind so that it was beginning to give her a headache.

She looked about the room and found no one to be watching over her, not that she thought there would be anyway… Slowly Layla curled up into a ball, and in the first time in a long time she wept her heart out. Why?! Why must I live on? Why can’t I just die in peace? Why must I suffer so?! She cried and cried long built up tears that had been waiting so long to be released, so much so that her blue/grey eyes were like a flood. After what seemed like hours to Layla she finally stopped crying, and when she did it was almost as if all her strength left her, and she soon began to drift off into a dreamless sleep.

Meanwhile…

A not so happy Dark Lord was looking down from his throne at the sniveling excuse for a wizard, Lucius Malfoy. Lucius was very badly beaten up, and for the first time in his life was actually scared of losing his life to the Dark Lord. “My Lord if you but allow me to expl…” but Voldemort was in a very fowl mood, and didn’t allow Lucius to finish before casting “Crucio” on him. As Voldemort descended the stairs from his throne down to Lucius he intensified the curse until he was merely an inch away from him.

Voldemort merely raised an eyebrow as to how loud Lucius was screaming. “You scream more than that girl ever did Lucius. Where is your backbone?” While Lucius attempted to answer through his pain, Voldemort quickly answered for him. “Is it because you really don’t have a backbone Lucius? Yes… I believe that is the reason.” Despite the horrific pain Lucius was suffering he managed to chock out, “ My Lord…why?” It was only when Voldemort’s eyes gleamed red with angry that Lucius knew that was indeed the wrong question to have asked the Dark Lord.

“Why?! My humble servant asks me why I am punishing him?!” Voldemort intensified the curse even more on Lucius, who in turn screamed even louder. After a few moments Voldemort stopped the curse, leaving Lucius at the brink of unconscious. The Dark Lord slowly made his way back to Lucius and leaned down next to his ear and whispered, “Had you forgotten about the prophecy?! Now thanks to you it may not come true… and if it doesn’t Lucius… I will make sure you pay the price…”
