The Colour of Your Soul

Chapter Nine
The Colour of Your Soul

"What is this?" Harry asked as looked around, admiring the fantastic blue barrier Draco had set up.

"You can see it?" Draco wondered out loud.

"Yeah, are I not supposed to?" Harry looked at Draco confusion clear on his face.

"No."

"Ah." Harry responded, and sifted his weight from one leg to the other.

Draco was biting his lip, as if trying to think figure out why Harry was able to see the barrier that usually could not be seen by others. Only the most powerful wizards and witches could see it. It could only meant one thing; Harry Potter had enormous power at so young age.

Harry sighed when Draco stayed silent what felt like an eternity. "Have you been here all night?"

Draco looked at him again which made Harry's brows furrow. "Are you looking at me, Draco?" he asked studying his new friend's eyes carefully.

"I'm looking at your soul, Harry," Draco answered in a dream like voice.

His answer made Harry to step back. "What?" his eyes were wide open from shock.

"As I said, I can see your soul," Draco repeated what he had said, since Harry seemed not to believe him.

"But… how?" Wonderment was thick in Harry's voice.

"Well, because of this barrier of course." Draco smirked.

"Oh, I see." Harry nodded, but he still didn’t quite understand what Draco meant.

Draco closed his eyes and smiled. "You know how they say that eyes are the window to one's soul?"

Harry nodded even though Draco probably wouldn't know it.

"Well, with this pendant here," Draco lifted the piece of jewellery hanging on his neck,. "Creates this barrier. It enables me to see the soul of a human being, the soul's past and future as well as the condition of it." Draco opened his eyes to look at Harry again.

Harry mulled over what Draco said. "So, what does my soul look like?"

Draco smirked again, "I'm not authorised to tell you that."

"B-but--"

Draco silenced him with a wave of his hand. "Harry, this is a more serious thing than you think. I can see things that might shock you and might make you want to change your future."

Harry's mouth made an 'o' and he decided to accept Draco's answer. "Ok, have you eaten anything yet this morning?"

Draco mentally sighed in relief. He didn't want to argue with Harry about anything. "Actually, no. I came here last night and been practicing to achieve this barrier all night," he answered truthfully.

"What?! I must take to the breakfast immediately. You might collapse if you don't eat anything!" Harry grabbed Draco's arm and started to drag him across the pitch. As soon as Draco moved the barrier collapsed around them into thin air.

AN: yeah.. it was really short again but I'll promise to write a longer chapter next. Much longer than this.
Hmm, any suggestion what I should put into it? It's Christmas after all. lol
