Chapter 9

Beautifully Deranged

Warning: There will be torture from here on out.

Chapter 9

Harry opened the cell and walked in, staring a few moments at the man within. He honestly didn’t know what to think of this situation.

On one hand Sirius was his godfather. A man he was so eager to live with only years before. One of the few remaining links to his parents. The man had never been hostile towards him and he might be able to sympathize with him since he too was once an innocent prisoner, completely wronged by society.

On the other hand, he really didn’t know too much about Sirius. He had only ever talked to him a few times since Siri was on the run. He didn’t love the man, as he wasn’t around much. They talked once on that night with the time turner, then in the fireplace when his name was put in the goblet, and the odd letter here and there….nothing of relevance. Did the man only care because he was a replica of his father? Did the man think he was guilty right away despite being an innocent prisoner himself?

He didn’t know, but he was going to find out.

Harry uncorked the bottle and then lifted the man’s head to allow the potion to slide down his throat. He gave the potion a few moments before gently prodding Sirius awake.

There was no need to be unnecessarily cruel. He needed to know the truth before he treated his godfather as a traitor.

He wanted--no needed to give the man a chance.

“Siri,” Harry poked him a few times, placing the man’s head in his lap carding his hands through the long hair. “Padfoot, it’s me, Harry, please wake up. I need to talk to you.” Harry said softly.

Fenrir watched on, eyes narrowing at the near intimate display. It almost looked as if the two were lovers with the boy caressing the man’s hair like that. Godfather or not, he would make sure this didn’t go any further.

Sirius slowly regained consciousness, trying to remember why he was on a cold stone floor, and who was talking to him. He recognized that voice from somewhere…

“That’s it Padfoot, wake up.” The voice encouraged.

He opened his eyes to see his godson before him.

“Harry?” He asked as if not believing his own eyes.

Harry gave him a half smile, just a small quirk of the lips really.

“Hi.” Was all his godson said.

“But, I thought…” Sirius trailed off and took in his surroundings. He was in a cell. A cold damp cell with people watching him. And not just any people, but Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape, Fenrir Greyback, and of course, the Dark Lord himself.

He turned his eyes to Harry, as if expecting him to now have a knife to his throat. “Harry, what’s going on here?” He tried to make his voice seem forceful, he honestly did, but it came out rather frightened rather than demanding.

Harry’s eyes went cold and he put on a mask of indifference that would make any Malfoy proud.

“I’m the one who’s going to be asking the question’s Siri, not you.” Harry said.

Sirius removed his head from Harry’s lap, got up, and moved to the corner. Staring at his godson in horror. What had happened to him? Had prison really made him this cold?

Harry got up from his place on the floor, wanting to start the questioning.

“What is your full name?”

“Sirius Orion Black.” Sirius’s eyes widened in absolute horror and he looked to his godson in confirmation.

Harry nodded. “Veritaserum.”

“What is your date of birth?”

“March 9, 1960.”

Harry looked over to the Dark Lord and nodded to show it was working. Harry let out a breath. Business first and then he had his own personal questions to ask.

“Were you now or ever a member of the Order of the Phoenix?”

“Yes.” There was no harm in answering that question since he was pretty sure Peter would have told them all by now anyway.

“Were you on a mission for the Order when you were caught?” Harry asked.

“No.” Sirius said giving a rather grim smile.

Harry gave him a look. “What has the Order of the Phoenix planned recently?”

Sirius tried to cover his mouth with his hand, biting his own flesh to try to keep himself from answering, but to no avail, the potion forced him to answer.

“He is planning to turn Harry back. He has told Snape to slowly persuade Harry back to us. We have been switching places to guard the prophecy in the Ministry of Magic.”

Harry waited for him to continue, but he didn’t. He blinked in surprise.

“Is that all?” Harry asked, a little shocked that that was all Dumbledore was doing in the fight against Voldemort. He was only trying to persuade him back and was guarding something….nothing else. He wasn’t fighting against Voldemort at all, instead concentrating all of his efforts on getting his ‘tool’ back.

When Snape heard Black rat him out his whole body tensed up, he was about to flee when a pertrificus totalus was aimed at him. He froze and instantly fell onto his back, only his eyes being able to move.

“Now, now Severus,” The Dark Lord drawled from above him, “I am very interested to know why you didn’t inform me of Dumbledore’s little plot, and am also interested in why you never mentioned them guarding a prophecy. Especially since I mentioned wanting to get my hands on a specific one not even a month ago, it really makes me wonder what you have been telling our dear headmaster.” The Dark Lord said the last part rather maliciously.

Harry turned back to Sirius when the Dark Lord was finished, ready to continue this line of questioning.

“What does this prophecy contain?” He asked.

“He only said that it was the key to defeating the Dark Lord.” Sirius said reluctantly, the potion not yet wearing off.

Harry looked towards Voldemort. “Are we done with this line of questioning?”

Voldemort nodded and then ordered Snape to be moved into another cell. “Yes. It’s a shame really. I no longer have a potion’s master.” He sighed, “At least I know the old fool hasn’t done anything to prevent any oncoming attacks as he has been so focused on you.” He muttered. “Go ahead and ask him your questions.”

This is the part Harry really wanted to get to. He needed to know if Sirius was with him or against him. He needed to know if he was betrayed.

“What were you doing when you were caught tonight?” Really what was Sirius thinking? He’s a freaking convict on the run, he couldn’t just be going around without any sort of protection.

“I went out looking to see if I could find some semblance of Greyback’s old pack. I was looking for you.”

Harry smiled, Sirius was going through a lot just to find him.

“And you weren’t on order’s from anyone?” Harry didn’t want to get his hopes up, but things were looking up.

“Nope. They told me not to leave the house, but I didn’t listen. I just knew I could convince you to come back.” Sirius said.

Harry’s smile faded. Convince him to come back, why would he do that?

“Why would you convince me to come back? I’m happy here.” Harry asked. Surely Sirius knew he wanted to be here, or else he wouldn’t have accepted Voldemort’s offer.

“You have a duty. You are meant to destroy Voldemort, everyone needs you to destroy him.” Sirius had no choice but to be truthful.

Harry started to grow angry. A duty! Was that the only reason he wanted him back? Just because he thought he should destroy Voldemort!

“Did you even believe me when I said that I didn’t kill Cedric? Did you believe me when I said the Dark Lord was back, or did you think I was a traitor too?” Harry shouted, beyond pissed.

“I thought you killed him. People would say anything just to get off murder charges including the resurrection of You-Know-Who. Everyone thought that you just wanted to win so bad that he ended up dead. I didn’t think you meant to do it, I just thought that you accidentally killed him with uncontrolled magic. You know, like how you blew up your Aunt, everyone had said that you had a fierce temper. I didn’t want you to go to Azkaban for an accident, but you still killed a boy and needed to be punished.” Sirius said, his potion glazed eyes starting to tear up in frustration. The truth was making him seam like some cold hearted bastard, and he wasn’t one at all. When people are killed someone has to take the fall, and Harry was there at the time.

Harry didn’t hear when Fenrir entered the cell, but he did feel the strong arms around him. Fenrir wasn’t one with words, but he did know how to show his support. Harry’s hands curled up into fists.

“So you thought I was a liar?”

“Yes.” Was the simple reply.

“Did you love me at all?” He was his godson, hopefully there was something there.

“You can’t love somebody you barely know.” Sirius hadn’t known the answer to that question until he said it out loud. Sure he had cared for Harry somewhat, he was James and Lily’s son he had to care about him, but Harry had not grown up with him like he should have and they never spent any time together. He had been somewhat fond of him after Harry had saved him when he was 13, but that’s about all.

Harry’s lips pursed in anger and his eyes turned hard. He had his answers.

“Are you afraid of death, Black?” Harry asked.

“Yes.”

Harry smirked. “Good.”

Harry turned to look back over to Voldemort. “Permission to kill the blood-traitor, my Lord?”

The Dark Lord eyed him curiously. The boy had never killed anyone before and he wondered if he had the guts to do it. Especially since he knew the person. Would he be merciful and use the killing curse or would he make the death long and drawn out? He was curious of what the boy could do.

“Permission granted.”

Harry smiled rather evilly before walking out of Fenrir’s arms. He had an idea.

He looked at Fenrir. “I know you’ve been dying to see my animagus.”

Harry began to shift and soon enough a beautiful black wolf with green eyes stood in front of him. He had only one truly unique feature though, a small patch of grey fur in the center of his forehead in the shape of a lightening bolt. The wolf in Fenrir stirred at the sight. He really couldn’t wait until the next full moon.

The wolf looked away from Fenrir and growled at Sirius. The man backed away to try and get as far away from the wolf as possible. Suddenly the wolf lunged at him and took a hold of his arm. He struggled to get away, making the flesh of his arm rip as the jagged teeth kept hold. The wolf eventually let go when he heard a distinct snap come from the arm. Blood pulled everywhere as the gapping flesh was released.

Sirius had no way to defend himself as the Death Eaters took his wand, he had no choice but to turn into Padfoot. His animagus had taken on Moony before, surely it could take on Harry.

The only thing Sirius forgot was that Moony didn’t hate Padfoot, Harry however did.

The wolf lunged again aiming for the neck of the grim like beast. Sirius dodged, though he was far to slow to completely miss the wolf as he was injured. The wolf missed the throat and latched onto the nearest part of Padfoot’s body, his shoulder. His powerful jaw tried to clamp down on the bone, but he was too off center and instead took much relish in peeling off a hunk of skin.

Padfoot howled in pain as he felt a fair amount of flesh torn from his body. He was becoming weaker and weaker as his injuries and blood loss grew.

Fenrir watched from the sidelines, ready to step in if his Pup needed it. By the looks of it, the boy turned wolf wouldn’t be needing his help anytime soon. The sight of his once little Pup tearing the other apart, blood pooling everywhere both aroused and disturbed him. The thought of blood had always turned him on, but seeing his little Pup grow up made him rather angry.

He looked over to the Dark Lord and Malfoy to see their reactions. Malfoy looked a bit surprised that Harry Potter would dare to kill his godfather, while the Dark Lord looked thoughtful…and was that a bit of lust he saw? The man was staring way to intently at the seen before him for his liking.

Sirius turned around to try and fend off the attack he knew was coming, which ended up being his downfall. When he turned Harry had the perfect aim for the underside of his neck and quickly took hold. He bit down--hard, until he heard a snap. The dog was still.

Harry backed away as the dog began to transform back into a man. The magic unable to hold since he was dead. Harry transformed back as well looking at down at his godfather with a grim expression.

“It didn’t have to be this way. You made your choice, and I made mine.” He whispered.

He turned back to the three others covered in his godfather’s blood.

“What are you going to do with Snape?” He asked.

“Kill him, most likely.” Voldemort said. He turned to Lucius. “Get rid of the body.”

Lucius bowed. “Yes, my Lord.”

He went to levitate the body away when Harry spoke up.

“Wait.” Everyone looked at him. Harry gave a half smile, maliciousness showing in his eyes. “I think I have a better idea.”

(Great Hall, Hogwarts, the next morning)

Two owls appeared in the Great Hall that morning, one dropping a package off in front of the Headmaster and another in front of Ginny Weasley.

The Headmaster decided to ignore his green and silver package until later. He never opened his mail in front of anybody, what if someone was reading over his shoulder?

Ginny however didn’t have such reservations. Ginny was a little surprised at the red and gold present in front of her, it wasn’t her birthday, so she looked for a letter. She squealed in delight.

Her friends looked at her. “What is it? Who’s it from?” They all asked eagerly.

She smiled and blushed. “It says, To my lovely: I hope this little token will leave you speechless, your Secret Admirer.” She recited. “I have a secret admirer, can you believe it?”

The girls all smiled.

“Well open it up already.” One said enthusiastically.

“I hope it’s jewelry.” Ginny said. She didn’t have much since her family was so poor. She quickly opened the box expecting a wonderful gift.

Instead she screamed in horror and jumped out of her seat to move away from the present as fast as possible. The other girls wanting to know what had made Ginny react this way all looked inside as well.

“OH MY GOD.” Ginny’s muggleborn friend staring at the box in horror. Another friend passing out, the other throwing up.

McGonagall and Dumbledore both came down from their seats to see what all the fuss was about. The looked inside the box and gasped in surprise.

In the red and gold Gryffindor box was the head of Sirius Black.

“Minerva, call the Aurors.” He said as he moved the box out of site, along with the note. As he turned around he remembered the green and silver Slytherin box on the head table.

He turned back to grab the box opening it, making sure none of the students could look inside.

In the box was Severus Snape’s head with a note that was tacked into the forehead.

It read, ‘You’re next,’ and at the bottom was only signed with a lightening bolt with a serpent wrapped around it.

They had truly lost Harry Potter to the dark side.

Next chapter: Some wolfish fun on the full moon!

Thanks to all reviewers! And sorry for killing off Siri. I do love the man and put some serious (ignore the pun) thought into whether or not I should kill him off. I just couldn’t ignore the mean and sadistic part of myself though.
