Good and Bad news
A/N - Ok I know flashbacks can sometimes ruin a good story but I needed to put these in to this chapter... otherwise things wouldn't make sense. Well this story doesn't make sense but meh. BTW!!! Thank you to thrnbrooke!!!! Your my number 1 reviewer and your the reason why I'm uploading this next chapter =D ENJOY!!!!
Draco sat down at the Slytherin table in his usual place. Hardly anyone was in the hall this early in the morning, there were only a couple of Ravenclaws sat talking together on the far table.
All Draco could think about was what he had wrote to Harry yesterday. Draco was still drinking his first glass of pumpkin juice when the rest of the school sauntered into the hall.
************************FLASHBACK!!***************************************
Draco was walking along the corridor heading towards the owlery when he heard a faint moan from one of the nearby classrooms. Full of curiosity, Draco slowly approached the classroom where the noise had come from. Carefully opening the door, Draco locked inside. What he saw was enough to make anyone scream. Granger and the Weasel were up against the far wall and it looked as if they weren't in any hurry to pull apart from each other anytime soon.
Draco quickly closed the door and ran up to the owlery before he had to witness anymore.
************************End of FLASHBACK!!*********************************
Draco had been scarred for life ever since he had witnessed the muggle-lover and Granger getting it on. Every time he closed his eyes he could see it all over again. The weird thing was, recently he had been wishing that it was him and Harry in that classroom. It had scared Draco at first, but now it wasn't as bad.
Owls began to hoot overhead as they swooped into the Great Hall. Draco looked up as his owl began to descend onto the table in front of him holding the Daily Prophet. His owl was closely followed by a school owl who was carrying a letter. Draco untied the letter from the owls leg, whilst also picking up a small bit of toast. Draco untied the Daily Prophet from his own owl before giving them both small pieces of toast. Then both owls quickly flew off to the owlery together. Draco ripped open the letter and read it quickly.
Draco couldn't believe how dumb Harry had been. He could have put something a bit less obvious about who he was, rather than putting his 'hero' name. Quickly stashing it away in his pocket, Draco stood up and left the Great Hall.
Harry had been watching Draco's reaction to his letter, out of the corner of his eye. Draco's facial expression had stayed the same, but his body language was another story. Draco had begun to fidget with the corners of the parchment that the note had been written on.
Once Draco had left the hall, Harry quickly finished his breakfast and went and got his firebolt. Instead of going straight to the quidditch pitch, Harry took a long detour and went all the way around Hogwarts grounds looking for Draco. He flew off over the lake, high over the quidditch pitch, circling like a golden eagle ready to pounce on its prey. He spotted a spot of blonde hair sat within the stands. Harry swooped down. Draco didn't look up towards Harry, until he was hovering just above his head.
"What do you want Potter?" Draco snarled, his eyes not even flickering from his Defense Against the Dark Arts textbook which was precariously placed upon his lap.
"I don't actually want anything but from the sounds of that letter you sent me, your the one who wants something. As if I'd becomes friends with you after all these years. You must be under the imperious curse or something." Harry, said, feeling his anger slowly bubbling up inside of him.
"Keep your shirt on, I don't really want to see you half naked. You definitely read the letter wrong. It didn't say I wanted to be friends, it said just because I sucked you off, it doesn't mean that we are friends. Next time Potter, make sure you read the letter correctly." Draco looked at Harry, at how he was straddling his broom; it made Draco want to be the broomstick.
"Why do you put on a front when your around people? Your such a git when your with people , but when you on your own ... You water it down and your ok company." Harry stated, trying to stop Draco from staring at him.
Draco looked back at his book. Harry dismounted and sat down next to him. Draco didn't even look at Harry. "Look, I know that when your father went to Azkaban, you took it really hard. But you have to move on, haven't you." Harry watched Draco, for any sigh change in his physique, as Harry knew that he was the first person to tell Draco to move on. Draco Malfoy's mask however, did not falter.
Neither of them spoke. Each boy was deep in thought about different things, but each thought somehow included the other. From the quidditch pitch, the school bell could be heard, very faintly. Harry stood up ready to get back on his broom and head towards divination. He was about to remount his broom, when Draco grabbed his arm.
"What the.." Harry was cut off abruptly by Draco pressing his lips against his own, desperately. After everything that had happened, this was the last thing Harry had expected.
A few minutes had passed by, when Draco and Harry, finally pulled apart.
"Harry, I know that you think you know me. In some ways you do know me, and you know how, sometimes even why, I react the way I do. I act like a git around everyone because I don't know how to interact with some people. But with you, I'm just me, well what's left of me. I don't know what I want from you, but I'll tell you when I know. I've got the feeling that this year is going to be a bit more peaceful." Draco smiled and about to leave when Harry pulled him into another kiss.
When they broke apart, Harry quickly rand up to Gryffindor tower and dropped his firebolt off and then ran the rest of the way to divination. Luckily for Draco, the Slytherins had a free period, so Draco was in no rush to move, unlike Harry. Once Harry entered Professor Trelawney's room, reality kicked in. About ten minutes ago Harry had been kissing Draco on the quidditch pitch. The thing that scared Harry the most was that he had actually enjoyed what had happened between them. No way could Harry tell anyone about it.
All the way through divination all that Harry could think about was Draco.
"Professor, I don't feel too good. Can I go and get some fresh air?" Harry asked, as he began to feel a knot in his stomach grow bigger. Trelawney just nodded her head at Harry and then turned back to the rest of the class to carry on with her lecture.
Harry rand down all the steps leading out of the tower until he reached the moving staircase. All of the Slytherins who were in their first year were either in the library or in the common room. Harry hoped that Draco was still out on his own where he had left him. Draco was laid in the stands, watching the sky as the clouds passed by.
Draco knew that Harry was there, watching him, but he didn't feel like moving or talking at that precise moment. Harry just sat down above Draco's head and watched him lay there peacefully. Draco reached out a hand and gently stroked Harry's hand that was resting on his knee.
"I thought you had a lesson to go to?" Draco asked quietly.
"I did, but I couldn't concentrate very well. I never listen in divination anyway." Harry replied, as Draco cautiously moved his head into Harry's lap.
Draco and Harry both sat together, in the stands, Draco with his head in Harry's lap and Harry stroking Draco's elegant hair.
***************************** FLASHBACK!!*********************************************
Harry walked out onto the quidditch pitch carrying his broom over his shoulder. After the day Harry had had the only way for him to cam down was to fly on his broom. As Harry flew around the pitch, he didn't notice that three Slytherins were sat in the stands, on of which was Draco Malfoy. Draco sat still and watched Harry fly on his broom. If Draco didn't have his hood up then Harry would have noticed him instantly.
The only reason why Draco and Crabbe and Goyle were sat in the stands was because they wanted to see if the Gryffindors had a decent strategy for their upcoming match: Slytherin vs. Gryffindor.
Draco hadn't realized in the past, just how elegantly natural Harry looked when he flew on his broom. If Draco didn't hate Harry then he would have told him, how much he was impressed by his very unique technique.
Then Draco suddenly realized that he was more than impressed by Harry, he was intrigued
******************************* End of FLASHBACK!! **********************************
"Harry I can't do this." Draco said, suddenly lifting his head out of Harry's lap. Draco wanted Harry, but the thought of it scared him slightly. The lucky thing for Draco was that the school bell had just rung, signaling the end of lesson. This also meant it was too risky for Harry and Draco to be alone together on the quidditch pitch.
Harry watched as Draco gathered his books together.
"Draco, don't follow in your father's footsteps, for my sake. Please, I can only deal with one Malfoy who wants my head cut off and served to him on a silver platter. I don't want you to hate me that much as well." Harry softly pleaded.
Draco just shrugged and walked off, leaving a heartbroken Harry behind. Harry was nearly beating himself up inside.
Draco turned the corner, leading out of the quidditch pitch when he burst into tears. He was heartbroken, his heart was killing him as it broke into a million pieces.
"MALFOY!"
Draco whirled around at the sound of his name. Harry had followed Draco out of the quidditch pitch. Harry had stood there and watched Draco cry. Harry had never seen Draco cry before, there had never been a time before when he had let his Malfoy mask down, to reveal his true feelings.
"What?!" Draco hissed, trying to recover from letting his mask slip.
"Why did you do it?"
"Why did I do what Potter?"
"That just then. We were just sat there and suddenly you come out with that. What's going on Malfoy?!" Harry began to look confused. He had just walked from the stands to come and catch up with Malfoy to ask him this? NO. What Harry had intended to do was to drag Draco off somewhere and shag him senseless.
"You know where I am, all you have to do is follow your heart." And with that, Harry walked towards the Entrance Hall. Draco stared after Harry with a rather perplexed facial expressions mothering his face.
A/N - Ok, the next chapter should be up within the next few weeks, I have time on my hands so I'm going to put my writing hat on and finish this novel =D As I am sure you are all amazingly pleased about.
