“What did you just say?” Layla rolled her eyes. Honestly. Did all guys have hearing problems?

“I said ‘do you need me to kiss and make it better?’” Layla smiled as she watched Severus stutter a bit, a slight blush gracing his cheeks.

“Layla-“ Harry was cut off by the phone ringing. Layla leaned over Severus to grab the phone.

“Hello? Hi dad. Yes, we’ve burnt down the house… Yes, we sold every thing on the black market… Yes, I did sell my kidney to some hobo on the street…” she smiled as she heard her mom in the background, demanding to talk to her.

“Hi mum.” Layla rolled her eyes at Harry and he snickered. “No, Harry and I are still safe, we’re not dead… yes we still have all of our body parts… We’ve only had one other person over and he’s here now. Sitting next to me. We’re in the basement…” Layla held the phone away from her ear as she mother shrieked. When her mother stopped she held it back up to her ear.

“Could you repeat that, mum? I seemed to have blacked out, cause all I remember is a loud shrieking noise.” Layla made an annoyed face. “Yes, mum, that’s exactly what Harry and I are doing with his Professor. Yes, we do it every summer, didn’t I ever tell you?”

Not really paying attention to who was sitting where, Layla sat down on Severus’ lap, ignoring his protests.

“Mum. We’re fine. We’re not dead. You don’t need to worry. Yes, ok. Love you, too. Bye.” Layla twisted around and put the phone back on the phone jack, managing to straddle Severus in the process.

“Well, hello. How’re you?” he placed his hands on her hips and forcibly lifted her up and off his lap.

“I would appreciate it if you didn’t use me as your chair.” Oh, his eye was twitching again. Layla chuckled softly.

“Ok, I promise to be good.”

“What did your mom think we were doing, Layla?”

“Oh, the usual.”

“She thought we were screwing like bunnies and just decided to ask my Professor to join us?”

“Yup.” Layla sat on the floor in front of both of the armchairs. “So. Is there anything else that you need to know, Professor or do you not want to go back just yet?” Severus sighed.

“No, there’s nothing else I need to know, Albus will be happy to know where Potter is and will be for the rest of the summer. I don’t want to go back but I have to, other wise Albus will ask me why I was gone so long, probably already knowing where Potter was, but just wanted me to come here for no reason.” He grumbled to himself as he stood up.

“Well, then. Let me show you out, Severus.” Layla walked with Severus back up the stairs and down the hallway to the front door.

“It was nice meeting you, Severus. Have fun apparating.” Severus nodded and started walking back to where he had first apparated.

Once he had apparated back to the school, it finally hit him as he was walking up the steps to the Entrance Hall.

‘How did she know about our world? Wasn’t she a muggle?’
