Heartbreak and confessions

Harry dragged the still slightly intoxicated Draco out onto the grounds and towards his tree. It was his favorite time to be there, during sunset when you could look back over at the castle and see the sun sinking slowly and beautifully behind it. The colors, red, gold, orange, purple and on occasion a brilliant green stretched across the lake, making it look almost like a painting done by some unknown force.

"God, Harry it's beautiful..." Harry heard Draco breath, a true awe in his voice as he pulled Harry closer against him. "I didn't know Hogwarts could be so peaceful, and I've definitely never been here before."

Harry smiled feeling the last rays of the sun's warmth against his skin, and the warmth of another body behind him, he took a moment before speaking, taking in the beauty of what was around him. All of what was around him.

"Yeah, it's kind of like... my secret place. I don't take people here normally, only people I really care about, mostly my boyfriends... Hermione and Ron don't even know where this place is. I come here when I need to think or... when I want to be alone. I came here a lot after Sirius died..." Harry said, watching as the owls began to leave their day sanctuary of the Owlery for the dusk skies.

"So... are you saying I mean a lot to you?" Draco joked and Harry poked him softly. "I can understand why you would like it here, I mean people don't exactly notice it, do they? Plus, it's beautiful, you can see the sunset, the sunrise and at night I bet you have the best view of the stars."

Harry smiled; none of his other lovers had ever understood the true significance of the place Harry often took as his own little private piece of paradise. Draco seemed to be able to understand it, and instead of automatically demanding they get physical, he took in the true beauty of the surroundings. This revelation made Harry simply fall more in love with Draco then he had before.

The two boys sat in silence and thought for a while, simply admiring the beauty of where they were, and basking in each other's obvious feelings. They were both content, more content then they had ever been with their families, their friends, and much more contentment then they had ever had in their solitude.

Finally Draco broke the silence, "Harry about in the Room... I just want to say; I wouldn't ever consider hurting you, ever. I really don't blame you for my mom's drinking problem cause it wasn't your fault. I don't care about my father anymore, you've made me realize that no matter what I can and will be loved. You forgave me for every horrible thing I ever did to you and gave me a chance. That is more then my father would ever do. He would just curse me and then tell me to go to my room. I wouldn't betray you the way my father wanted me too, and I surely wouldn't ever... EVER turn you over to the Dark Lord. I'm not going to be a Death Eater, I'm tired of trying to be like my father, and I'm tired of trying to make him love me and make him proud."

Harry looked at the boy who just last year had made his life a living hell, simply to gain his father's approval and win over his love. He felt a stab of guilt at how the relationship had originally started and knew he should tell Draco the truth about it, before Seamus got around to doing it.

"SHIT!" Harry said aloud, glancing at the watch his blonde boyfriend was wearing (He liked that new term, and the fact that now he actually meant it) and noticing it was a little past 8. "I was supposed to meet Ron and Hermione almost 15 minutes ago..."

Draco looked at him, his displeasure clearly being shown in his renewed expressive gray eyes. "So, I make a huge confession like that to you, and all you can say is shit?" Draco asked coolly and Harry flinched slightly.

"No, see the thing is, we have a project due tomorrow and we were supposed to finish it tonight in the library, but the library is only open until 9 o'clock, Hermione is going to kill me." Harry said, pleading, but knowing his boyfriend wasn't happy with him.

Draco simply glared, and Harry realized how insensitive he was being. "Love, it means so much to me that you wouldn't hurt me, and I never doubted that you would betray me. I have faith in you, and I always have. (That, he realized, wasn't a lie) I know how hard it was for you to say, and know... I love you more then anything I wouldn't hurt you ever. Which is why this is so important." Harry said, knowing exactly what he was going to do when he met Seamus.

"Finishing a school project is so important to me?" Draco asked, confused by the new ranting, but appreciative of the fact that he had commented on his heartfelt moments before.

"Its... It has nothing..." Harry ran his hands through his hair, the one thing he always did when he was flustered and plotting, or very nervous.

"What is going on, Harry?" Draco asked, looking him in the eyes and seeing the hint of the fact that he was doing something he shouldn't be. A horrible thought struck him, but he pushed it aside.

"Nothing, don't worry, look meet me here tonight in about 45 minutes... promise me?" Harry said, sending Draco a pathetic pout.

"Why, Harry what the hell is going on, and don't use my pout, its MY pout." Draco said, seemingly getting more and more suspicious by the minute.

"Don't worry, I promise it won't be a problem for long, please Draco, just trust me." Harry pleaded; staring directly into Draco's eyes, showing such a mixture of emotion that Draco didn't know what to think.

"Harry... I... I do trust you, just... tell me what's going on." Draco demanded, and Harry knew he was past the 'We have a school project excuse'.

"I'll tell you what the problem is, Malfoy." A voice that Harry dreaded hearing at this point said from somewhere behind Draco.

"Seamus, how the hell did you find us here?" Harry asked Draco looked highly confused due to the venom in Harry's tone.

"Oh, I bribed it out of the Wesley twins, they still keep in touch you know." Harry glared, and he heard Draco make little gawking noises.

"You slept with the Wesley twins? Are you serious?" Harry ignored the blonde, and continued to glare at the Irish boy standing in full view of the furious raven-haired boy.

"Get out of here, the deal is off," Harry said, glaring at Seamus, who ignored Harry and turned to the now confused and furious Draco.

"Deal? What deal is that, Harry dear." Draco said, vindication and hurt filling the blondes voice.

"Nothing of importance Draco, don't listen to him." Harry said furiously, glaring daggers at the Gryffindor.

"Oh, really? Using Draco for information about the Death Eaters is nothing of importance?" Seamus asked in the same casual tone he had used earlier in the day.

"Using me... for information?" Draco questioned, the hurt showing in his eyes and echoing in confirmation in his voice.

"Draco, please, listen, let me explain..." Harry started, his heart was shattering with every cruel look and hurtful flicker in the blonde boys eyes.

"There isn't anything to explain, oh and did I mention he was willing to sleep with me to keep me shut up about the whole thing?" Seamus said, glancing casually up at the stars, clearly please at the reaction it caused Draco to have.

"Damn it Harry, how could you... Why would you do this? Harry... I trusted you; I poured my heart and soul out to you. I took off the mask that I had worked so long to build up around you and you... you used me? Then blew me off and were willing to sleep with that SLUT. (Seamus looked highly offended at that comment) just so I wouldn't find out. You never really loved me and were probably laughing away at my personal pain with Wesley and Granger, weren't you?"

"No, Draco I swear, It started that way... and then... I do love you..." Harry started, but was cut off when Draco let out a harsh laugh.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but it looks as though your loosing your spy, Potter." With that Draco turned and fled towards the castle, tears streaming down his beautiful pale face.
