May 20th 1999

Severus Snape was amusedly watching his son pull leaves off a flower. He generally took his son out for walks or waddles in Christopher’s case while Harry hunted various rodents for meals. It had been just over a year since baby Christopher Albus Potter- Snape had been born and a lot had happened in that time. The child look more and more like a very young Severus Snape everyday and if it hadn’t been for the child’s green eyes Harry would have sworn the child was 100% Severus’ and 0% his.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………........................................................................

Since the day he was born Christopher had been given an outpouring of love from not only both his fathers but his unofficial godmother Abigail and godfather Tenfoot as well. “He’s reaching out for me!” Tenfoot would cry as the child learned to use his hands. “Yeah! You can do it!” Abigail would shout every time Christopher attempted to walk.

“Can you imagine,” Harry said on one particularly cold February morning as he looked back and forth between his lover and his son, “what it would be like if Chris ever became a teacher. Well, with my piercing green eyes and your evil thin lipped smirk he could easily strike terror into the hearts of every child in both the Wizarding and Muggle world.”

Severus laughed and began to say something but was interrupted when Abigail flew into the cabin practically screaming, “We’re here to pick up Chris!”

“Oh I don’t think so Abby, not today, it’s much too cold,” Harry said facing his pixie friend.

“Aba!” Christopher squealed with delight upon seeing Abigail causing her to beam. It was of great satisfaction to Abigail, and annoyance to Severus, that Christopher called out her name every time she flew in.

The fact that Christopher’s first word had not been dada or even da but instead Ab (which eventually turned into Aba) for Abby had indeed taken Severus and Harry by surprise however it was the fact that Christopher’s second word was Enf, for Tenfoot, which was the most shocking and upsetting for them.

And for weeks after he had spoken his first two words, much to his amusement, Severus and Harry spent hours repeating the words Da-Da to their son. Even after two months had passed since Christopher had said Ab Severus and Harry had not had any luck in getting him to say Dada or even Da which caused them to become worried that he would never say dada.

However on one crisp October afternoon he surprised them.

“He hates us.” Harry frowned as his son happily sang the Abby song.

“Aba Aba Aba Aba. ba ba ba. Aba Aba Aba Aba. ba ba ba.” Christopher was sitting up against a mess of blankets and pillows clapping his hands.

“No he doesn’t.” Severus reassured his lover.

“Well he clearly loves Abby more!” Harry cried.

“No.” Severus smiled, “He loves us, well at least me, more.”

“Don’t you?” Severus said getting on his knees to sit next to his son, “You love your daddy don’t you Christopher.”

Christopher giggled.

“You love me, yes you do. You love your Daddy.” Severus said putting his face in front of Christopher’s.

“Please, Severus, you’re making me sick!” Harry fake puked.

“Come on, Tell daddy you love him.” Severus said happily.

Christopher laughed again and then finally said, “Dada!” which of course nearly caused Harry to faint.

It was around Christmas, well after he had learned to say Dada, that Abigail and Tenfoot began to take Christopher, out of the hands of his parents, for hours at a time; and although many times Severus protested Harry was always relieved, it seemed to him that the older the child got the more difficult he became.

It was during these precious hours of freedom that Severus and Harry would make love and such was the case on March 12th 1999.

Tenfoot and Abigail had come in early that day and told Harry that their tribe was throwing Christopher a party. When Harry asked why Abigail went into the explanation that her tribe counted years not in twelve months but in ten and a half months and after some persuasion both Harry and Severus agreed to let the pixies throw their child a party even if they weren’t aloud to go; the other pixies were still rather upset that Severus and Harry had not agreed to join their tribe.

“I still don’t like it Harry.” Severus frowned about an hour after his son had left.

“He’s safe Severus,” Harry sighed, “they may not like us but they love Christopher that much is obvious. Besides don’t you trust Tenfoot and Abby?”

“I believe that they have good intentions.” Severus replied.

“Severus, we let them take Chris all the time, what’s the difference between today and any other day?”

“Today, they want to throw him a party.” Severus said as way of explanation.

At first Harry didn’t understand what he meant but then it hit him and it made sense because although Abby and Tenfoot generally were good people, er, pixies, they did tend to get overly hyper when ever something exciting was happening.

“Well, I know something that will make you smile.” Harry whispered into Severus ear before running to their bedroom

Severus smiled and quickly followed his lover up the stairs.

“Mm Severus.” Harry said as he tore his lover’s clothes off and moved him towards their bed. Severus however didn’t speak as he was pushed down to sit upon his bed. Harry smiled at his Severus before he fell to his knees and hungrily took Severus’ length in his mouth.

Hours later Severus gave a big satisfied sigh, rolled over, and let his eyes close.

“We should go check on Christopher.” Harry said as he noticed the sun had gone down.

“He’s safe with our friends. You’ve said it yourself a million times.” Severus said opening his eyes.

Harry was about to protest when he saw his child floating in the air.

“There you are!” Harry said as the blue pixie flew into the bedroom and dropped the child between his parents. “Not so hard!” Harry whispered angrily at the pixie as Christopher cuddled in-between him and Severus.

“It wasn’t hard” Tenfoot laughed.

Once Tenfoot left Severus blew out the candle that had been lighting the room and then settled into bed placing his hand over Christopher’s stomach. Chris let out a small sigh and if he could have spoken in complete sentences he would have said that there was nothing in the world he love more, except maybe the squishy green bugs Tenfoot had shown him, than cuddling up in-between his parents.

“Come on Chris,” Severus said attempting to take the flower out of his son’s hands.

“No!” Christopher frowned.

“Defiant just like your other father I see. Nonetheless we are going and there isn’t a thing you can do about it.” Severus said before gathering Christopher in his arms.

“No ca ma ca ca! You moncha! No!” Christopher shouted as he felt himself being carried away from the patch of flowers he had been sitting in.

“It’s not my fault. If you refuse to come with me by your own free will then I will be forced to carry you.” Severus said as if he was talking to an adult.

“No moncha Dada!” Christopher pouted before attempting to put what was left of his flower in his mouth. Upon seeing this Snape said, “No. Christopher, No.” and took the flower out of his sons hands and threw it on the floor.

Christopher didn’t complain, he already knew better than to argue with his big-nosed father but it still didn’t keep him from watching his flower as it got smaller and smaller and finally disappeared as his dad walked over and down a small hill.

It was in April that Severus took his Harry and their son out to sea one morning in attempt to see what lay beyond the island. He had gone a few times on his own already but somehow he had always just ended up back on shore so he figured that he might as well see if things would chance if he took his whole family with him. Unfortunately, by the end of the day he found out that it didn’t matter weather he had his family with him or not, he’d just end up back on shore.

About half way through the boat trip Christopher, who had not quite mastered walking yet, crawled over to Severus’ part of the boat and began to tug at his shirt which caused Harry to giggle.

“Stop it Chris!!” Severus shouted at the whining child causing the child to whimper.

“He’s only a baby!” Harry scolded.

“That’s exactly why we need to train him now to not be a nuisance. You for one obviously missed out on that training.”

“He just wants attention Severus.” Harry frowned.

“I know.” Severus said irritably, “I’ve worked with children for too many years to not know what they want.”

“Yeah you might have worked with them, but you didn’t raise them, they weren’t your children, and besides they were all terrified of you! You don’t want your own son scared of you like you were of your own father, do you?”

Snape sneered at Harry but nonetheless picked his son up and mumbled, “No.”

Christopher giggled and pointed to The Pond as they passed it. Christopher loved water which surprised Severus very much as at Christopher’s age he had been terribly afraid of water.

“My yunga Aba Enf?” Christopher asked.

“No not right now son. Maybe later you can go play with Abigail.” Severus replied.

“No Aba, No Enf.” Christopher said.

“Exactly.” Severus smiled.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………............................................................................

“Monguna yunga!” Christopher shouted throwing his spoon across the room causing Harry to snap out of his thoughts

“You shouldn’t give him such an object to play with.” Severus said as he looked down at the spoon.

“Why not? He won’t hurt himself with it, besides it gives his fingers exercise.” Harry explained as he gave the spoon back to Christopher.

“He’s too young for something so dangerous.” Severus frowned.

“First of all, it’s a spoon! And second, he’s nearly one year old.” Harry argued as he saw the spoon go flying across the room again.

“If he gets hurt I’m blaming you.” Severus said before crossing over to sit next to his son.

Harry handed Christopher the spoon again and said, “Nothing will happen. It’s a spoon. Besides, by let…” The spoon flew again, “…by letting him around the likes of Abby and Tenfoot we’ve decreased his chances of getting hurt by something common”

Severus quirked his eyebrow at Harry as Harry handed his son the spoon again.

“Well think about it. A child has got a certain percent chance he is going to get hurt. If he’s around Abby and Tenfoot his chances go up, when he’s not around them they go down, which means he’s got a decreased chance of getting hurt unless he’s around them” Harry smiled as the spoon flew over his head.

“Sometimes,” Severus sighed, “I really don’t know why I even bother having conversations with you.”

“Hey!” Harry pouted handing Christopher the spoon again, “It makes sense.”

“It’s fucked up logic…” Christopher threw the spoon again.

“Don’t cuss in front of Christopher!” Harry said handing the spoon back.

“It’s true. If his chances of getting hurt go up when he’s around Abigail and Tenfoot then go back down again when he’s not, his chances of getting hurt are still only put back to where they were in the first place.” Snape said as he watched the spoon land across the room.

“I don’t follow.”

“Of course not,” Severus sighed, “let’s use numbers then.” Harry nodded and handed Christopher his spoon back, “Let’s say that Chris has a one-hundred percent chance of getting hurt normally but when Abigail and Tenfoot are around it goes up to one-hundred and twenty percent.”

“More like one-fifty.” Harry said as the spoon is thrown over his head once again.

“Fine, one hundred and fifty percent.” Severus said as Harry gave the spoon back to Christopher, “Well, when Abigail and Tenfoot are no longer around his chances go down yes, but they only go down to 100 percent, which was the original percentage.”

“Oh.” Harry said stupidly.

“But I suppose you’re right. It is only a spoon.” Severus smirked as the spoon was tossed across the room again.

“Hey,” Harry turned to his son, “Stop that!”

Christopher giggled.

“You know what sounds good,” Harry said as he entered the cabin which Severus and Christopher had entered less than an hour before.

“Uh oh. Dada.” Christopher said looking up.

“What Harry?” Severus asked. He was sitting on the floor reading to Christopher.

“A salad, like a nice mixture of lima beans and carrots” Harry sighed contently as he sat down upon the living room couch.

“Funny you should mention lima beans.” Severus snorted.

“Why is that?”

“I just find your liking of them strange because The Dark Lord, er, Voldemort, he hated lima beans...” Severus said standing up.

“Really?!”

“…and you always seemed to be so much like him that I figured you hated lima beans…”

“Severus!” Harry frowned.

“I’m just kidding love. You’re the complete opposite of him. Do you really think I’d fall in love with someone who was like that old sadistic bastard?” Severus plopped down next to Harry. Severus kissed Harry’s cheek and said “Aww, don’t be mad. I love you,”

Harry smiled and was about to respond with an ‘I love you too,’ when he heard a quite but clear voice saying, “Love you.”

Both Severus and Harry turned toward their son who smiled at them before saying “love you,” again.

Of course, that’s when everything went dark…

A/N: The next chapter/chapters(?) should be up soon as I’ve nearly finished them already. There is only two more.
Please Review. Oh by the way i know the whole \"chance of getting hurt\" bit was really stupid, and i hope i didn\'t lower your IQ too many points.

Here is a preview of the next chapter:

….Severus Snape was standing alone, in Death Eater uniform, in the middle of the Forbidden Forest….

“Chri….Ron, you’re, you, you haven’t aged?” Harry gasped looking at his best friend for the first time since he arrived at the great entrance.
“No… I suppose I wouldn’t have aged since you last saw me,” Ron replied suddenly extremely worried about his best friend, “of course you haven’t aged in the last hour either.”
