In the afterglow of their lovemaking, she basked in the love they had created.
She finally did what she had always wanted. She had Draco Malfoy. But that wasn’t enough.
“I love you.” She said quietly. “I think that I always have.”
“Funny thing. I love you, too. It started from the moment I first met you, regardless of what my father was shoving down my throat. You couldn’t stand me and I found that completely irresistible. No one could deny me anything, but you found the courage to do some. No wonder you were in Griffindor. I couldn’t let you know, but now, I have nothing that could come back on me in a negative way. I love you, Hermione. Now, stop crying.”
“I’m sorry,” she sobbed and laughed at the same time, “you’ve just made me so happy. I have been dreaming about this day for years, when I would finally find the one person who would make me whole, you. We make love and it is so incredible, but I wake up as I scream you name. If it’s all a dream, I hope I never wake up.”
“It sounds just like my dream, too. The way we screamed each other’s name was too familiar to me. But, you have better breasts in real life.”
“Ha, Ha. I am serious. In my dream the same thing happened as well. At least, I think it does. I feel like I wake up too soon to enjoy the moment.”
“The dream is a sign. We are meant to be together,” he said matter-of-factly. Now, come over here and kiss me. I’ll give the office a call and tell them we won’t be coming in for a few months.”
“Months? Whatever for?”
“We’re getting married, that’s why. You, my dear, have a wedding to plan, and I have an equally stunning honeymoon in the works. We can’t have work getting in the way of all our planning.”
“I’m sorry; I didn’t know you were getting married, because I certainly wasn’t asked.” She said with a hint of sarcasm.
“Fine. I, Draco Nicholas Malfoy, am asking you, Hermione Jane Granger, to marry me, to be my wife for all time. You are the best thing that could have ever happened in my life. I want only you to have my children, and you’re the one that I want to grow old with.”
She reached over and gave him a mind-blowing kiss. While still dazed, he asked “Is that a yes?”
“Of course. A Malfoy always gets what he wants.”
