Chapter 10 The Awakening

They stood, waiting, to see what would happen. After a couple of nerve shattering minutes, Draco broke down sobbing and leaned into the closest thing to him for support. He wrapped his arms around the support and held on for dear life. He was unaware that he held on to his Uncle Severus in a death grip. What was even more amazing was the pale yellow aura that surrounded them and flowed from Draco to Severus. Hermione watched as Draco fell apart and remembered her promise. She went over to them and wrapped her arms around Draco also, and was enveloped by the strange aura. The three stood there, swaying, waiting for the final act of a life passing. Albus began to fret. Ron was too stunned to do anything. With no warning, Harry sat straight up on the bed and blinked twice and yelled, “Damn, I feel good.”

Harry looked over at those closest to him and held out a hand to Draco. Draco launched himself on the bed and began kissing Harry frantically. “My Lion, you came back to me. Came. Back. To. Me.” Draco was interspersing kisses with his little speech. Harry was a willing recipient. Harry looked around again. “I’m not dead? I’m not dead! Oh Happy Day!” Harry wrapped himself around Draco. “Draco take me back to the suite and shag me senseless.”

Draco grabbed Harry up in his arms and pulled him off the bed and began spinning them both around, laughing and crying at the same time. “Oh my Lion, as soon as Poppy says I can take you out of here, you won’t see classes for a week.” Draco stopped them and looked around at the others staring at them. Sus aus and Albus were smiling. Hermione and Ron were stunned and Lucius. Well, Draco looked at his father and pulled Harry over to him. “Father, I want you to meet Harry Potter, my Lion, my friend, my companion, my lover, my mate.” Draco pulled Harry closer to the elder Malfoy and held his breath.

Lucius looked at the two. So the rumors that had reached him in Azkaban were true. He had always hoped Draco would choose a female, but he knew of only one strong enough to tolerate Draco and she was wrapped in a Weasley’s arms. He knew Draco would choose and it would only be the cream of the crop. He washt aht again. He looked at the two and smiled. “Hello Harry. I guess ‘Welcome to the Family’ would be appropriate right about now?” Harry sputtered and turned to Draco, who took advantage of the mouth forming an O and kissed him, thoroughly.

Draco and Harry continued kissing, oblivious to the scene around them. Poppy came out and ran her scanning wand over the tnd snd started shaking her head and muttering. “Wand must be finally acting up. I can’t be getting those readings. Severus, step over here please. I need someone to test my wand and spells on. I’m getting anomalies.” Severus moved closer to Poppy and she began again. She was shaking her head again. Two for three, something was up. “Mr. Weasley, please come here.” Ron obeyed and Poppy was more confused then ever. “Miss Granger, you next.” Hermione moved over and Poppy started muttering. “Albus, please.” Albus just smiled and let Poppy do her job. Poppy shook her head and sighed. This would be a sight to behold when she spoke out loud again. “Lady and Gentlemen, I would like the following people to stay here while I run some Muggle tests that will clear up confusion for me. Harry, Draco, Severus and Miss Granger, please make yourselves comfortable. I’ll be back in a few minutes. Oh Mr. Malfoy, I forgot about you for a moment. You, too, are staying. Everybody else, OUT NOW.” Albus chuckled. “Come, Mr. Weasley, we will wait in the Great Hall and have a snack.” Albus turned and headed out, knowing Ron would be following.

Once they were “alone”, Poppy looked at them individually and then in a swoop. “Mr. Malfoy, Lucius, would you please take yourself to the bed in the corner over there and get yourself comfortable. The rest of you, sit on these two beds. I’ll be right back.”
