Back Again

I am not sure how long he was gone for, but it seemed like hours. I looked up at him as he entered the room.
“Sorry everything is still shut because of the snow; I guess they are expecting another blizzard later. This means we have two options, one sit and wait it out until things open again or we take our chance and keep walking. Either way it’s not a good opt but but that’s all there is”

Looking at him, I knew he was worried. He was right either option was not pretty. We could sit here and wait, hoping for the best but freeze and starve to death. Or try and walk to the castle, normally would be a 30 minute walk but in the snow could be a lot longer so if it started to snow again we could freeze there.
“Let’s get our stuff and keep moving” I stated.
Smiling he approached me Are you sure?” I nodded and he kissed me on the forehead.

We quickly put some more layers of clothes on and picked our bags up heading downstairs. I didn’t like the downstairs it gave me the creeps. And every time I placed my foot on a stair is sounded like it was going to give way on me.

He opened the door and we headed out into the street, when the cold icy wind hit me I started to wonder if this was a good idea. Although sitting upstairs waiting was not the best idea either. I was starting to remember now how hard it is to live the muggle way because of course it would be easier to use magic and apparate nearer to the school, but we were not able to do that.

Taking my arm we started to walk the unfamiliar route around the village and up to the school. Well would be familiar if one we went through the village and not around the outside and also everything was not covered in snow. It made it a little hard to tell where we were.

Sirius seemed to know where we were going so I just fold hid him; it didn’t surprise me this especially with all the times he snuck out. Snow never stopped him in the past and I doubt it would now.

“How did you do it?” I asked
“Do what?”

“Sneak out the school all those times without getting caught”
“Ah a great magician never reveals his secrets”

I looked at him raising one of my eye brows. He smiled in return.
“It doesn’t matter one of the ways is blocked and the other routes at this moment are more risky as it means going into the village. And we really should stick on the outskirts”

“My god, have you actually grown up” I said sarcastically, he pouted at that.
“I guess I have, Sirius has defiantly become serious”

“I’m in shock” I stated. He looked at me smiling and gave me a kiss on the nose and we continued to walk.

As we got nearer to the school it started to snow lightly, which was not too bad as it made it seem romantic I just hoped it didn’t start to snow more heavily.
The rest of the walk we continued quietly so we would not slow down as it was essential we got home, Hogwarts.
No sooner had we started to approach the school had the light snow started turning into a mini blizzard.
“Angelina, are you ok” Sirius ask as we struggled forward.
“I’m fine just I think you are going to have to warm me up when we get in”

“Oh no problem there” he said smirking “ok lets keep going” he said pushing against the wind and the snow.
No sooner had he said that I fell over onto the snow and I couldn’t get up. Sirius had still hold of my hand moved back and stood in front of me to shield me a little from the wind. Bending down he put his hands on my waist and pulled me up.

I slipped a little and fell onto his chest, it was firm. Firmer than I imagined it feeling, I looked up at him trying not to let him know what was on my mind but no good. Smiling I thought later when he warms you up.

He turned around slowly so he would cover me still holding back his free arm for me to hold on to as we walked. It seemed like ages every time we took a step forward it felt like we took three back but we eventually made it to the school gates. Letting go of his arm I held onto one gate while he pushed on the other to get it open. I moved along slowly still holding the gate for balance and as quick as I could in this weather snuck through the gap as did he before pushing the gate back.

As soon as we were through the gate it felt as if the wind was dying down, just bloody typical I thought. Taking my hand in his, he lifted it to his lips and gently kissed it while looking at me. Pulling the bag over my shoulder more I let go of the bag and used my other hand to brush the side of his cheek.
“We’re home now, let’s get inside and warm up” I said. Smiling and me he squeezed my hand tighter but not letting go. We walked up to the castle hand in hand.

When we got closer to the castle we looked at each other, both of us thinking the same thing. We are home. The castle ground were dead quiet, I assumed the kids were in lessons. Guess not as many were as bad as were that or they were scared to leave at the moment. We saw Snape standing there at the entrance to the castle. Sirius pulled away and whispered to me “Let’s not let…” I cut him off before he got to finish what he was saying.
“It’s ok I know” I replied smiling.

“Well it seems thndernderer has returned” Snape said coldly.
“Nice to see you too Severus” Sirius said.

He then turned to look at me “It’s been a while Angelina”.
“That it has, how are you Severus?” I said sweetly. I never got on with him at school but I was still polite I always thought he got given a hard time and wouldn’t have become a death eater if James, Remus and Sirius had been a bit nicer.

“As well as can be expected, Albus is waiting for you two in his office he has been quite…. Concerned…. I did tell him not to worry Black always manages to land on his feet. Anyway please excuse me I have some business to attend to”.
“Ok we’ll see you later” I said, he looked at me and turned swiftly and headed towards the dungeons.

“Why do you like him?” Sirius demanded.
“Not jealous are you?”

“No just don’t get you; he was horrible to you at school”
“Sirius, two wrongs do not make a right.”

He just nodded in agreement, knowing not to pursue the argument with me are bre because I was very stubborn when needed.

We headed towards Dumbledore’s office, stopping at the gargoyle.
“You know what, Severus never gave us the password” I said and giggled.
“Just typical, not our couple of days is it?” I shook my head in reply.

Just then the gargoyle statue opened and there was Dumbledore.
“Good afternoon Angelina and Sirius” he said with the same old twinkle in his eye as if he knew something. Probably did, he always did.
