Recovery - Chapter Nine

"I don't th-"

"Shush!" Harry Potter hissed at Ron. The red headk a k a deep breath and glanced around the corner. Harry leaned close exitedly, giggling under his breath. "Here he comes!"

"When did you become some American Valley girl?" Ron questioned. Harry waved him off.

"Come on!" Harry hissed again, grabbing Ron's arm. Harry, much to Ron's suprise, thrusted him around the corner and into something... or someone. It took the youngest Weasley boy to figure out that he was laying on top of a very aggitated Draco Malfoy. Draco laid on his back, hands up and pressing against Ron's shoulders, glaring up at him.

"Hey, Draco." Ron greeted, forcing a smile.

"Get off me, Weasel." Draco growled. Ron leaped to his feet and shuffled, shooting daggers at Harry with his eyes. Draco calmly got to his feat, brushing off his robes. "What was that about, anyway?"

"Er... Harry..." Ron mumbled.

"Now, now, don't blame me for it!" Harry said in an oddly chirpy voice. "Just because you got so excited at the site of Malfoy walking down the hall doesn't mean it's my fault. This is your crush, not mine."

With that said, Harry took off running the other direction, a low giggle escaping his throat. Ron fought back the need to chase after him and instead tried to think of an excuse as to why Harry was behaiving like this. Having thought of none after a few minutes, he gave Draco a weak smile. Draco merely raised an eyebrow.

"Sorry about that." Ron mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"You might want to watch your friend there, Wealsey," Draco commented, smirking. "Looks like he's getting into the opium."

"You know, that explains so much..." Ron said honestly. At the sound of a chuckle, he turned and grinned at Draco, who was attempting to cover up his smile. "So, how are you doing?"

"How should I be doing?" Draco questioned, his smile dissapearing. Ron bit his lip and watched the Slytherin lean calmly against the wall. But Ron wasn't fooled, he could see the turbulant emotions that were fighting to be seen in the boy's eyes.

"Hopefully better. You know.. Recovering." Ron replied. Draco looked away from him. "I'm sorry. Do you want me to leave you alone?"

"I'm not one for honesty, Weasley." Draco admitted. "But... I dont' want you to leave. There, I said it. Now you can go back to your pathetic friends and have a good laugh at my expense. I know that's what this is about. Why else would Potter literally throw you on top of me?"

"Hey! Harry... Well, Harry is being really weird at the moment." Ron explained. "I don't know what his deal is, but I'm not trying to have a good laugh, okay? Bloody hell, Draco, I'm actually worried about you!" Draco looked up at this and Ron nodded. "Yeah! Me, Ronald Weasley am still worried about Draco Malfoy! I'm expecting the world to end at any moment here!"

"Don't you think your being a bit dramatic." Draco said.

"Shut up, Malfoy." Ron muttered.

"I don't think I want to." Draco said calmly, though Ron could see a small smile past the snide remark. "Care to see if you could make me?"

Ron blinked. Draco was flirting with him. Holy crap, Draco was flirting with him. Ron gulped and eyed the Slytherin carefully. Draco merely leaned agaisnt the wall, one foot propped up, arms crossed. The boy's eyebrow raised into a perfect arch and Ron found himself stepping forward at the movement.

"Well... Ron? Going to shut me up?" Draco whispered. Ron gulped again as he found himself extremely close to the pale-blonde. He wasn't sure how he got that close, it it seemed like he had stepped forward again. He leaned a bit closer to Draco, then stopped. At Draco's look of confusion, Ron spoke.

"Are you sure?" Ron asked softly. "I don't... Want to take advantage of you or anything. Do you really want this?"

"I need to get past it all sooner or later, Ron." Draco said just as softly. "But I think I might need a little help in that department. I trust you."

"You trust me?" Ron blinked. Draco nodded and smiled slightly. "It really is the end of the world."

"Dammit, Weasley, I've been waiting weeks for this, so do shut up and kiss me." Draco ordered. Ron grinned, but didn't move to kiss him. "Your going to make me beg,n't n't you?"

"I have to admit, there is a certain appeal to you on your knees, begging." Ron replied. Draco opened his mouth to snap at him, but was cut off by a pair of soft lips meeting his own. Draco let out a grunt of suprise, but returned the kiss with hidden passion.

Now this, and both boys mentally agreed, was a kiss. There was no anger, no frustration behind it. Just simply lips meeting lips and a soft moan escaping an unknown mouth. Ron fought back the need to slide his tongue into Draco's mouth, not wanting to force him into anything he might not be ready for. It amazed him that his protectiveness over the Slytherin seemed to gather ten-fold as the kiss progressed. It was Draco who took the initiative and parted his lips enough to let his tongue graze Ron's bottom lip. At the sound fo the red-head's gasp, Draco couldn't help but smile and do it again.

Ron allowed his lips to part, letting Draco's tentative tongue enter their depths. He found himself pressing his body against Draco's smaller one. A groan escaped him as the knee Draco had propped up pressed between his legs. He met Draco's tongue with his own and followed it back into Draco's mouth. Ron couldn't help it when his hips jerked forward as Draco began to suck on his tongue.

"Wow." Ron whispered as they finally pa, ga, gasping for breath. He slowly opened his eyes, face close to Draco's. Draco's eyes remained closed, eyebrows scrunched up as though in thought. "Are you okay?"

"Must you always ask me that?" Draco responed, without opening his eyes.

"I can't help it." Ron admitted.

"I shouldn't of done that." Draco whispered.

"I'm sorry." Ron replied.

"No, I mean..." Draco trailed off as his eyes opened. Their eyes locked. "I'm never going to be able to keep myself from you now. Even though it's wrong."

"Why is it wrong?" Ron asked.

"My family would never approve. I... Merlin, I don't know." Draco once again closed his eyes and rested his head agaisnt the wall. ron looked at him a moment, then leaned in to give him a chaste . As. As he pulled back, Draco's eyes opened once more. "I can't explain-"

"There is nothing to explain." Ron whispered. "I'm here with you no matter what. Your not going to get rid of me that easily."

"So your going to be my knight in shining armor?" Draco smirked. "You Gryffindors are so stubborn, you know that."

"And you Slytherins are hard to get close to, but I think I've managed it." Ron smiled. Ron slid his arms around Draco's waist and pulled him closer. Draco tensed a moment, then relaxed in then hold.

"I'm staying for Christmas." Draco announced softly. "My mother just owled me this morning. Seems Dumbledore insists on my being here. Oddly enough, Mother agrees with him."

"Does she know?" Ron asked.

"About the Dark Mark? Yes." Draco replied. "She never really bothered herself with it, though. As long as she had her money, she's was fine. I suppose Dumbledore must of said something along the lines of her losing out on her shopping fund if I took the Dark Mark. I wish I knew what he said, then maybe I could use it myself."

"Your so evil." Ron chuckled.

"Of course I am." Draco grinned nastily. Ron let go of Draco and stepped back. Draco, much to his own shock, immediately missed the touch. "Where are you goin?"

"To thank Harry, of course." Ron replied, blushing slightly. Draco raised an eyebrow. "Well, he did push me into this event, didn't he?"

"Yeah, I suppose he did... Tell him for once he's got a Malfoy's approval." Draco told him.

"I'm sure he'll be thrilled." Ron snickered. Draco merely smiled and turned to walk away. Ron watched him a moment,n brn breaking into a wide grin, ran off toward the Gryffindor common room.

end notes:

opium is bsically a flower or sorts that gives the same effect as weed, except it's actually dangerous and was used back before weed was really discovered. (we're talking 1500s here). i figured since the wizarding world is a little old fashioned, it would be using the older version of drugs. ^.^ see, i'm smart... sometimes.
