Merlin

As the two girls lay there, in the Ravenclaw bedroom, snow exploded. Clouds concurred; and then fought with more snow. The storm was not there, and would not be either, but one could easily think that.

The snow exploded.

Still.

And Luna shivered; but with ease.

And Ginny’s heart kept the beat.

Damn; I am good at narrating!

Luna tried to look into her own mind, while staring forward; as she rested on Ginny’s arm. It did seem to work; at least she looked very concentrated. Ginny slept.

The snow just kept on falling outside, but Luna just briefly took notice of that. She had more important things to think of. Her mind put a stop to her body, as soon as her body came in contact with someone else and she did not know why.

Luna loved Ginny. There was no question about that, but she had not loved anyone like this before. It was a new kind of feeling for her; much more complicated than she had ever imagined. She had a bit of a hard time coping with it too. It was so – normal - compared to her usual problems: Luna did not know how to relate to it. Something as close and real as her body and mind proved to be a bigger problem than however the far away existence of a Crumple-Horned Snorkack ever did to her.

Ginny lay on her back beside her, snoring slightly, with one arm tucked under Luna’s neck. She slept soundly, seemingly dreaming about something important to her. She had an annoyed, distressed look about her, as if something was slipping away in her dream, and then and then a small whimper would escape her lips.

What she dreamt of was unclear; at least until a little more than a whimper escaped the red girl’s lips.

“Luna…” It was heard. “Don’t go… Don’t – go -….” The red girl rolled, clasping her arms tight around her lover, and said again: “Don’t go…”

Does it not just melt your heart?

Merlin…

Luna could not do anything else than stay put, now tightly hugged down by Ginny. She looked over at the girl, and sighed; blaming everything for a split second on her. But she could not do that for long. Soon Luna smiled a deep smile (probably from the heart) and without much ease, put her arms around the little fiery tale.

Then she slowly fell asleep.

As morning dawned, the girls both had been awake for quite a while. The snow singled down no more; instead sun shone through Luna’s window leisurely, as if telling them it was there when they needed it. They did not though, probably neither of them had registered that the sun shone at all. They were busy talking.

“But I do want to kiss you” Luna stated. “Every time I have, I’ve always imagined myself riding clouds. I like that sensation – and – I like you. To be close to you is important.”

She looked briefly at Ginny, with a hint of a smile. “And kissing is fun.”

Ginny looked at the girl still lying in her arms, quietly waiting for her to continue; as continuation seemed appropriate. She smiled, though; even if Luna did not dare too. All knew they were good.

“And I want to do more than that. With you – to you!!” Luna said, much openly to the wall. “But… I am afraid – I think. I am anxious.” She took time again to look briefly at the girl she loved, and Ginny just nodded; still saying nothing.

“It is fear” Luna said, as if she just realized it herself. “I’m afraid”

She looked almost shocked, where she lay. She starred into nothing, thinking hardly it seemed, when Ginny quietly asked: “Of what?”

Luna did not notice at first, but slowly looked around, disbelieving; as if she was unsure if Ginny was still really there. Everything had dawned for her and she spoke with sad melody.

“I’m afraid it will change me.”

And Ginny answered nothing at all.

At least for a little while.
