In the depths of the Ravenclaw boys’ dorm, Scorpius Malfoy began to wake up. Instantly he was hit with a wave of pain that almost made him go unconscious once more. For several minutes he could not even think. All of Scorpius’ energy was put toward bearing the tides of pain. It was a while before he even remembered where he was, or even his own name. At first he did not understand why he was in such pain, but then it all came rushing back to him. Choking, ripping, bruised, and completely destroyed. David. It was David who had used him like this and left him lying bloody on Albus’ bed. It was David who pounded into his fragile body with unrelenting force.

Scorpius was not sure how much time had passed. Was it hours or days? How long had he been laying there? Slowly he moved his hand down to where he knew he would find blood between his legs. It was thick and hardened. He must have been there for more than just a few hours.

He was uncertain of what to do next. He could remain there on the bed until one of his dorm mates returned; but then he would have to explain to them what had happened and why. Or he could attempt to get up and clean himself off, but what if he began to bleed again, too much blood loss would be very dangerous. The Malfoy in him stirred and dictated that he save face.

After struggling for several minutes to sit up, he slouched against the bedpost already feeling drained. He began to ease himself onto his feet. Scorpius stood for a few seconds only before he collapsed onto the hard floor with a howl of pain where he remained for about an hour, endless tears of agony dripping down his face.

Again, he made an attempt to move. With his legs unable to hold him up he used his arms to crawl toward the dorm room door. Wearing a mask of pain he drug him battered body across the floor and out the doorway. If he could at least make it to the boys’ showers he could erase the evidence of what had transpired; he could wash the blood from his body. Slowly every inch as painful as the next he entered the showers and rolled under the nearest constant flow of hot water. Instantly the steaming liquids began to sooth his aching muscles and remove the stains from his body.

As the hardened blood began to turn the water a dark red color, Scorpius relaxed onto the tile floor. Right before passing out again he remembered something that David had told him, it was something important about Albus, but he could not quite grasp it, instead if floated off into oblivion as his world went dark again.

“His internal injuries are substantial. There are severe tears in the membrane of his large intestine. It seems as if…”

“I know exactly how it seems; you don’t need to state the obvious.” retorted a voice that was very familiar to Scorpius. “Please, just let me be alone with my son.” There were footsteps followed by the closing of a door. A lager hand came to rest upon his own and another began to gently stroke his hair. “I know you are in pain Scorpius, but I’m right here. I will be with you when you wake up” Sleep overtook him once more, stealing him away for the half conscious state he had been in.

With a great deal of effort, Scorpius opened his eyes. At first they did not focus, all that was visual was a light green blur. As his vision gained strength he soon discovered that he was lying in a hospital bed in the middle of a small green room. Out the corner of his eye, Scorpius watched as something to his right shifted ever so slightly. Even though the muscles of his neck were tense, he managed to turn his head just enough to view a blond man who sat beside him reading a paper.

Scorpius throat felt sore as well, but he figured he would give speaking a chance. “Father?” It was less than a whisper yet in fewer than 2 seconds later the paper he had been reading was thrown to the floor and Draco sat grasping his son’s hand.

“I was so worried about you. I was afraid you may never wake up. They told me you had lost so much blood that…” Words failed Draco at that moment as he looked at the bruised face of his son. Draco’s face was plastered with worry.

“I’m okay.” Scorpius told his father with much effort.

“Scorpius,” Draco began, his demeanor changing as he looked away from his son. “tell me what happened.” It was more of an order than a request.

Scorpius could feel the tears gathering behind his eyes as his thoughts shifted again to the terrible night with David. Should he tell his father? How would he even begin to explain the situation to someone who did not even know he was gay? Draco was all about saving whatever reputation the Malfoy family had left; his only son being gay would devastate those hopes. “I…I can’t tell you.” He muttered.

“Why? Why can’t you tell me?” Draco demanded, his voice becoming more insistent.

“I just can’t!” Scorpius rasped as he began to cry. “Father please…”

“Alright,” Draco replied seeing the pain on his sons face, “but you will tell me eventually. Right?”

“Yes father.” He answered as he drifted off into sleep again.
