Chapter 8

Dahlia sighed heavily before closing her eyes. She couldnt be expelled for something stupid like drinking. She looked towards the office to make sure Jacob was busy before making her way to the floo. She threw some powder in before whispering for the Potter manor. She needed to talk to her daddy. Harry glanced up from his desk when the fire flared to life. His face, and mood, went from happy to alarmed.

"Dahlia, what's wrong?" He asked, coming to the fireplace to get a closer look at his daughter.

She looked like she'd been run through a wringer!

"Can you come here now please i need you daddy?" Dahlia bit her lip as she stepped away from the fireplace.

Harry dropped what he was doing, delaying only long enough to retrieve his wand before srepping into the flames and out into the Infirmary just in time to catch Dahlia as the strength in her legs gave out. Jacob came bustling out of his office looking utterly exasperated.

"Miss Potter, really. Back to bed immediately! You can't go running around wtih that potion in your system." Harry carried his girl to one of the beds and sat her down gently, waving the healer off.

"What's wrong, baby?" He aske, smoothing her hair back and looking worried.

Dahlia curled into her father. She relays everything that had happened from her love for Teddy to the drinking and ever let it slip about Mimi.

"And i thought i was making myself feel better by drinking but it juts made me feel numb."

"Oh, Dahlia." Harry sighed, hugging his little girl to him.

"I'll get you through this. But." he began, sitting back to meet her eyes seriously.

"If you do something so foolish again..." he shook his head.

He wasn't about to endorse her behavior, but everyone was entitled to one big mistake. Dahlia holds him tight whimpering.

"Snape might expell me." Harry shook his head.

"He owes me. I'll make sure you stay in school, baby." Dahlia breathes hard.

"Mama's going to be mad at me." Harry nodded.

"She will. And you'll have to deal with that. You're not innocent in this, Dahlia. I think dealing with your mother is the least punishment you deserve." Dahlia nods slowly.

"I love Teddy so much daddy..." Harry nods.

"I see that." He wrinkled his nose, caught between knowing Teddy was a damn good guy, and thinking NO ONE was good enough for his daughter.

"If he hurts you...I'll kill him." he said, already wondering how he'd justify it to Teddy's rather protective fathers.

Dahlia chuckles and smiles brightly.

"Daddy... Mama was here... earlier." Despite the fact that he didn't have a clue what Dahlia was talking about, Harry nodded, knowing his Bella would tell him eventually, just as he'd pass along this little reunion later.

Dahlia smiled and laid back looking up at her father. She felt drosy.

"Im going to sleep daddy." Harry nodded and once his daughter had dropped off, made his way to Snape's dungeon office.

Snape was in his office reading through several messages including a messagre from Jacob. It was a note saying that Miss Dahlia Potter had been injuryed and complications came to light that she had been illegally drinking. Harry knocked on Snape's door, but didn't wait for an answer before walking in.

"Severus." He said by way of greeting, shutting the door behindhim.

Severus looks at him before glaring slightly.

"What are you doing here?" Harry remained unruffled.

He was long used to Severus' acerbic attitude.

"I want to talk about How we're going to handle Dahlia's...indescretion." Severus looks at him and leans back in his chair.

"Im not going to sweep this under the rug. Your daughter had enough whiskey in her stomach that it ignited with potion used to heal her causing internal damage." Harry nodded.

"I agree she should be punished, and severely, but I don't think expulsion is the answer here." he said calmly, appealing to Severus' rationality.

Severus stands up.

"Illegal consumption of booze is normally grounds for expulsion."

"Severus." Harry entreats, meeting the man's eyes. "When was the last time this happened? Was Dumbledore even here, then? I think you can shorten the grounds in this case. You know expulsion would do her no good and possibly much harm." Severus looks at him.

"Under Dumbledore you would have been expelled before you hit 2nd year. Your daughter is a chip off the old block." He walks over to a bookcase. "But then last time a student was caught with booze was your godfather during his 4th year. He was almost expelled but his level wasnt completely smashed." Harry sighed.

"Come on, Sev. You owe me this much. Punish her however you see fit, but please don't expel her." Severus looks at him.

"The only thing i owe you is the fact that you took down a tyrant. If it werent for your friend Hermione i wouldnt be with my husband and son. Those are the only things i owe you Harry." Severus looks through the books. "Dahlia will not be expelled but she will have detentions with..." he thinks for a moment. "With Filch until the end of the year." Harry nods.

"Thank you. I'll get out of your hair. Give Phasma and Kaleb my best." Severus nods.

"I will." Harry chuckles lightly and leaves, stopping by the infirmary long enough to peek in on his daughter and thank Jacob, who seemes very flattered to have Harry Potter himself speak to him.

Dahlia was sleeping gently. Harry made his way home, finding Bella in his favorite room- the kitchens. He came up behind her, not bothering to sneak, and kissed the back of her head, bending slightly to kiss Phoebus' forehead.

"Hello, dears." Bellatrix smiles as Phoebus smiles holding out his arms to Harry.

"Daddy..." Harry takes his son, holding him close.

"Heard you were up at the school today." Bellatrix nods.

"Had to make sure our son was safe there." Bellatrix pulls out a carrot and holds it to Phoebus's mouth. "Come on honey open up." Harry frowned.

"Why wouldn't he be? It's *Hogwarts*." Phoebus buries his face into Harry's shoulder to hide from the carrot as Bellatrix sighs.

"You will have to ask him. Now why were you there?" Harry scowled.

"Our girl went to class today thoroughly soused." He said, his mood darkening.

Bellatrix turns and looks at Harry fast.

"As in drunk? But why?" Harry quickly explained the story his daughter had told him, leaving nothing out.

Bellatrix sighs heavily.

"I must say our children would certainly give us cause for gray hair." Harry nods.

"Severus says he won't expell her, at least. But she'll be dealing with filch for the rest of the year." Bellatrix nods.

"Do you still have one of the two way journals you gave one to your son right?" Harry nods absently.

"I figured he could use it until he found someone to give the other to." They'd decided when the twins were born to give Harry's gifts carefully.

The map went to Dahlia, the diary to Riven, and-though he frequently let the twins use it- his invisibility cloak would eventually fall to Phoebus. A soft squeak was heard near the door.

"Daddy..." Harry turned with a smile and held out his hand.

"Hello, baby." Rosemary slowly walked over and held out her arms.

At almost 6 she and Phoebus were pretty close to age.

"I had a nightmare... a man with a white beard... scary eyes..." Harry frowned and dipped to pick up his daughter, handing Phoebus back to Bella.

Rosemary, he knew, would eventually be given his wand. He could feel the similarities in their magic. He wasn't a hero anymore. He didn't need such a wand for himself.

"Scary eyes?" he asked, curious.

Rosemary whimpers wrapping her arms around his neck.

"They were blue like marbles... they sparkled... he was mean... mean scary man." Harry hugged his daughter close, a chill going down his spine.

"There's no man like that naymore, Rosie. He can never ever hurt you, do you understand?" His eyes darted to Bella.

How the hell would his little girl know about Dumbledore? Bellatrix held her son close. She kenw that one of her children would get the gift of clairvoyance. Her grandfather had it and so did Andromada her other sister.

"Rosie dont worry the man is gone..." Rosemary looks to her mother.

"But i saw him... he was standing over my bed... saying you two were bad people." What she had really heard was what Dumbledore had done when he took Harry from his crib.

Harry's face drained of color and he shivered. What the hell had she seen? Did Dumbledore have some way of manipulating his family even after death? He looked to Bella in desperation.

"Do you know what..." Bellatrix nods as Bellatrix gently pushes Rosemary's hair behind her ear.

"Dont worry honey hes not here anymore. Your mind is seeing the past. Your very special Rosie." Rosemary giggles.

"Really?" Harry frowned.

What was she on about? Past? Why was Rosie seeing the past? His confusion showed obviously on his face, but he was much less worried since Bella seemed to understand what was going on. Bellatrix kissed her forehead.

"Why dont you go back and finish your nap?" Rosemary nods and jumps out of Harry's arms.

"Bye daddy and mama." she runs out of the kitchen as Phoebus was asleep on Bellatrix's shoulder.

Harry frowned after his daughter before turning to Bella.

"Something you want to tell me?" Bellatrix sighed softly.

"My family has this gift of clairvoyance. I knew at least one of our children would have it. I hoped it wasnt Rosie. She can recall events and things she shouldnt know. Such as Dumbledore. As she gets older she can control it." Harry sighed heavily. This was not a burden he wanted a child of his to suffer.

"Anything we can do to help her? I...I don't want her traumatized by visions of war, Bella." Bellatrix sighs.

"This house has memories of Dumbledore from those who enhabit it. But her magic more than likely wont show her something shes not ready to see. She is your magic baby." It was a joke between them because when Rosemary was conceved Harry had been trainning his magic a little harder than normal and had been pushed into a magical frenzy.

Harry blushed, but nodded.

"If you're sure..." Bellatrix smiles and kissed his cheek.

"Just finish up dinner while i put this one down to sleep." Harry smiled softly at his sleeping son.

"Alright." Bellatrix smiels and walks to his bedroom where it was a neutral green color.
