The Trail Runs Cold
The group of three ran through the rain, the light of their wands bobbing as they continued. They could not apparate anywhere, because they had no idea where they were headed.
Sirius’ sides were burning, but he did not change into a dog, Remus would never be able to keep up like that, plus Remus was the one with the tracker.
Suddenly, in the middle of the woods, Remus’ wand stopped spinning, and just fell into his soaked hand.
“What is it? Why are were stopping?” James asked almost colliding with Sirius who had stopped, and hunched over to catch his breath.
“I’ve lost the trail. They did it on purpose,” Remus said before he began to mutter something trying to get his wand to pick up something again. They were standing in the middle of a lightly wooded area, that led to nowhere.
“FUCK!” James yelled and punched the closest thing to him which was a tree. It shook slightly, since it was fairly small, and more water fell on them.
Wincing in pain, James shook his hand and looked at his two friends. “We have to find her.”
Sirius and Remus nodded in agreement, and began to to think of something else they could possibly do to find her.
