Chapter Seven: Nights of Pain
**Please do not comment on how I write. It's simple. If you don't like it, you don't have to read it. If there are mistakes however, you are more than welcome to point those out. This is Harry/Draco you must like it if you're in this section.**
Wow...a lot has happened this month, which is why this took so long to write and why it's so short. Don't worry the next chapter will be all sex.
CHAPTER SEVEN: NIGHTS OF PAIN
“I can give this to you, the only thing you have to do is accept. Accept that I love you, no matter what I always will. This can happen and it will, I promise you,” Draco said, pulling his lover into his embrace, wondering just what caused this sudden change.
A wetness on the front of his shirt alerted the older boy that the other was crying so the blonde tilted the other’s head back to peer into those beautiful green eyes. There wasn’t any trace of sadness in those endless emeralds so he could only assume that those were tears of happiness now. Using his sleeve Draco wiped the liquid drops from his love’s face and waited until the small hiccups subsided.
“What made you change your mind?” Draco asked.
Unsure of what his older self would want all he knew was he couldn’t lie to Draco at the moment. Motioning to the bookcase that moved he saw the other’s obvious confusion. Speaking the words the bookcase sprang to life once again showing the darkened stairway. Giving his love a look of concern Draco once again kissed his forehead before gently persuading Harry to lie down on the couch to rest. The blonde then disappeared down into the darkness, a sudden urge to call him back bubbled inside me, but he knew that if older Harry didn’t want his lover down there the doors would not open for him.
Settling back into the couch he closed his eyes, they hurt from having cried so much. Not intending to sleep, that is what occurred.
Draco could not believe that his panther had hid this from him all these years. I’m going to kill him once he’s my Harry again. Keeping this from me, I knew he disappeared time to time, but I never thought he was still in the house. The thoughts passed through his mind as he climbed the stairs. Any curses that had been on the tip of his lips died when he saw Harry asleep on the couch. Usually when the boy was asleep next to him Harry never had a nightmare, but his panther’s face was contorted in a pained expression, sweat covered his skin in a fine sheen, and he thrashed like mad. Rushing over he shook his love, calling his name until suddenly Harry sat up, his green eyes wide with fear and his wand drawn, pointed at an invisible foe in front of him.
“Dragon?” Harry’s voice sounded small and scared.
“It’s all right, panther. Your dragon isn’t going to let anyone hurt you,” Draco said, sitting on the couch next to him, drawing the smaller boy into his lap.
Harry allowed himself to be shifted into the others lap, his wand fall from his shaking hand. Wrapping his arms around Draco’s neck, the boy nestled his face into his love’s chest. Draco didn’t quite know what to do, Harry had never had a nightmare since they started sleeping together. Of course they didn’t always sleep together, sometimes one would be gone or the other would be, but when they were together Harry had never woken in the middle of the night.
“What happened, love?” Draco asked, petting the unruly locks of his husband.
“Voldemort…he was standing over me, his wand was drawn and then…then…” His voice broke.
Soothing hands caressed his back, “Then what, panther.”
“He killed you, and the children…” Sobbing shook Harry’s body as the nightmare replayed in his mind.
“Sh…it’s okay panther. I’m here, the children are safe, it was just a nightmare.”
Draco held him until the sobbing stopped and Harry released his death grip. Gently pushing him away so he could see his husband’s face, eyes red, tear stained cheeks and even messier hair. Sweetly kissing Harry’s lips, reassuring him that he was still alive.
“Do you have nightmares often?” Draco asked.
Harry shook his head. “Not nearly as often as I used to, ever since I married you they became less and less, but sometimes there about things that never happened.”
“Why did you hide this from me?” Draco asked, pointedly looking at the bookcase that choose that moment to close.
Turning his head Harry saw the bookcase reach its final resting place. Sighing he knew the day would come when Draco either discovered it or was suspicious where he went when he disappeared.
“I discovered this way when one day I watched all the good memories I had in a Pensive but couldn’t control it when a bad memory played by accident. This way I don’t have to carry all the bad thoughts with me, but I can see the good ones any time I want. I didn’t tell because I wasn’t ready to show the dark things I kept seeing sometimes, I didn’t want to lose you because I didn’t show it to you sooner,” Harry said, his eyes looking down a the Malfoy-Potter crest rug.
A moment of silence passed before found his lover’s arms wrapped around him tightly.
“Harry I could never leave you. Nothing you could do would make me leave. Not even if you had an affair. I’d be angry, but you’re stuck with me forever. Malfoy’s don’t give up what is theirs,” Draco said, pushing Harry onto the couch, moving so that he was straddling his husband.
Green eyes met lust-filled silver ones. “What are you doing?”
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m chasing that nightmare from your mind,” Draco said, his hands sliding under Harry’s shirt, caressing the skin there.
