Chapter 8
AN: hey heres the next chapter more should be around soon well hopefully anyway. Thankyou to everyone whos been reading this and reviewing it as well.
Chapter 8
“Hey Harry if you’re watching this then it means that me and your mother didn’t make it, remember though Pronglet that no matter what anyone may say or do we are proud of you and will always love you and we will always be with you in your heart never forget that ok,” he paused here to wipe away the tears from his eyes and Lily’s, “right so anyway I don’t know who killed us but these memories are of all the important things you should know and even some funny things like pranks…”
“James you better not have included them,” Lily interrupted hitting him on the back of his head.
“Of course not Lilyflower,” he said with a wink, “This memory is to explain some things, hopefully you should know some or all of your history and know that we went (going into) hiding, you see Har, Albus told us that a prophesy had been made and it was between you or another child called Neville Longbottom, I’ll tell you the prophecy now:”
“The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies…and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have the power the Dark Lord knows not…and either must die at the hands of the other for neither can live while the other survives…The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies… “
“Now as I was saying Dumbledore told us this but neither, Lily nor do I believe in Divination however it seems that Voldemort does. The thing is Har, your mum and me were having doubts about which side of this war we should be on before the prophecy. However we knew once we found out we could be targeted that we would not risk you, you were more important to us than any war, so we agreed with Dumbledore to go under the Fidelius Charm, now as your mother couldn’t perform it and Professor Flitwick wasn’t strong enough to do it we had to allow Dumbledore do it, however we were still reluctant as he suggested that we move out of one of our more protected manors into Godrics Hallow whilst it was still protected well it was hardly as impenetrable as the manor.
“Now at the time Lily was also curious about her ancestry as she had read a book about how muggleborn witches and wizards were descendents of squibs normally, and your mother being who she is Har wanted to know everything,” he paused there as he had to duck the hand that Lily went to hit him with. “Anyway she did the lineage potion to check her past, well she was shocked, she discovered that a person named Tom Riddle was her distant relative I think cousin of about twelve relatives, I don’t know I wasn’t paying any attention to her I was focusing on you, now Tom Riddle in case you don’t already know is Voldemort, actually its apparently an anagram of his full name clever if I do say myself sorry I digress, well naturally Lily wondered what he was like and searched for him when she found out he was a wizard she spoke to Albus. He became worried and curious as to why she was asking so when he came over to discuss the Fidelius he searched the study he found the potions results but we walked in on him reading them he was going to obliviate us both but realised that we would both figure it out again anyway so he left us alone assuming that Lily would be ashamed of her family for being related to Voldemort, she wasn’t though. Now just after you were born we were curious as to why your magic was so strong as you were even doing magic when you were in the womb we soon found out the reason why though as we checked both of our families ancestry, it turns out that you are the heir of the founders of Hogwarts and would be without a doubt extremely powerful, so we placed a lot of fail safes in place. Harry our ultimate wish however is for you to join your family by going to join the Dark Lord.”
“Harry,” Lily said, “yes I know it sounds hard as you’ve probably been fighting against each other for awhile now, I know this is going to be hard for you my baby but your father and I know we won’t be there to guide you but this is what is needed to be done. It would be our only wish I know you would love to deny this but you wouldn’t have been given them if you were not ready as Fawkes wouldn’t have allowed you to have them yet.”
“Har,” James continued, “you need to know all this Pronglet as much as we wish we could be with you and deny this. You need to know that Albus plans to use the person in the prophecy, we both believe it to be you, as he is in love with power and you Harry have it in abundance you paced him whilst you were in the womb. We also know that our will won’t be followed as it wouldn’t leave you downtrodden enough to be manipulated easily enough, knowing this he will put you with your mothers sisters family the most horrible people I’ve ever met even though it is stated that under no circumstance are you to be placed there, hopefully you will have grown up with Sirius and Remus but we doubt it as we have come up with a decoy for our Secret Keeper, were using Peter Pettigrew by the way, kill the traitor for me Har, I don’t know who’s side he’s on as I know that if we died then he betrayed us however he has always been close to Albus, as everyone will assume we would use Sirius we went with Dumbledore’s suggestion. We wish we could see you grow up and live a wonderful life but sadly we can’t, but know this son we are always with you in your heart and we love you always and we hope we died protecting you. Look after the mutts for me though will you Har, and give the other memories to those who need them. Have fun and remember Marauders stick together.”
“Harry I need you to remember that everyone wears masks all you need to know is that not everything is as it seems my little one, someone will always be looking out for you and we will always love you forever,” Lily said and they disappeared back into the pensive and the room was silent.
