The Product of Time,

Professor Severus Snape sat in the headmasters office discussing the potions explosion with Dumbledore.

“How many times have I told you Albus that Longbottom should be removed from my class? I repeatedly told you that one day he would do something that we couldn’t fix. I warned you. That child is a menace in my classroom. Merlin knows where the hell that dunderhead sent his classmates. And Merlin only knows what havoc those four are creating.” Severus stood up and started pacing the length of the office.

He sighed. “With Potter and Malfoy in the same place there is sure to be some sort of havoc. It seems strange though. I feel like I sort of know where they’re at though. But everything seems hazy.”

“I know what you mean Severus. I can feel that there’s something that I’m missing and it has to do with those four and where they went.” said Albus. “I don’t think Mr Malfoy and Mr Potter will be creating as much havoc as you seem to think.” Albus’s eyes held that damned twinkle that seemed to annoy everyone so much.

Severus wiped his hands over his eyes tiredly as he sat down again.

“What do you know this time that your not telling me old man?”

Dumbledore lent forward and rested his elbows on the desk and his head in his hands as he smiled over the top of them at the man he thought of as his son. He was very fond of Severus.

“I just think that maybe Draco and Harry may have actually sorted their differences. In fact I would wager to say that they would make a rather striking couple!” Dumbledore looked at the man across from him and smirked a very slytherin smirk, that made the potions master take a double look at him to make sure that he really was seeing what he thought.

Snape sneered at him. As if his godson would ever lower himself to become Potters playmate. But then again, the more Severus thought about it, the more it made sense. There was only a very thin line between love and hate. And nobody could deny that those to boys have always had a passion for one another. It was never a love passion but rather one of hatred. They were drawn together like a magnet. They had always searched each other out to trade insults and had you wanted to know anything about either you just had to ask the other and they could tell you. They had always kept tabs on each other and what they were up too. All that about knowing thy enemy and such.

Severus stood up and went to the window and looked out over the grounds where there were dunderheads moving and playing about. He sighed. He was getting to old to deal with things like this. If he really thought about it, he realised that Potter and Draco coming together could be a powerful force and would maybe give Potter more of a reason to go after the Dark Lord. Not that the Dark Lord killing his family wasn’t reason enough.

Oh God!! He had promised Lilly and James that he would take care of Harry. That he would protect him. And now Harry was missing and the tracking spell that he had placed on Harry as a child was not working properly. It kept giving of weird readings that just didn’t make sense. He rubbed his temples and turned to the headmaster.

“If you don’t need me for anything else, I think that I am going to cancel my OWL class this afternoon and rest. I don’t feel so good Albus. Something is going on my head that is making me acquire a migraine.”

“Rest easy Severus my boy. If the children were dead, I would know. Now and take a headache potion and sleep. I will take care of your class this afternoon. Written work won’t kill them for one lesson. Who knows maybe I will even teach them something that you wouldn’t!!”

“ Merlins Lacy Knickers Albus. Do Not Touch My Potions Ingredients OR My Cauldrons!! The last time you did it took me a week to clean my ceiling and explaining to irate parents that I had nothing to do with turning their precious little warts into hot pink frogs. I warn you now old man, touch them and I will come up here and destroy all your candy!!” Albus looked alarmed, a big difference from the laughter he was expressing a second ago. “Even your hidden candy cupboard. Don’t look so surprised…I can read minds. Sometimes you are too easy to read.” With that Severus swept from the room. Leaving a laughing Albus Dumbledore behind him.

After Severus had Albus proofed his classroom just in case, He went to his private quarters and swallowed a headache potion. He sat down on his favourite chair beside the fire and closed his eyes.

“I am so sorry Lilly and James. I have failed you both.”

“Don’t be silly Severus. You have not failed. Our son is perfectly safe and is changing the course of the lives of those around him as we speak. Quiet forcefully too. Makes his father proud!!” said James Potter and he and Lilly Floated into Severus’s lounge.

Hey Everybody!! I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to update. I became really sick in my last trimester of pregnancy and was rushed to hospital 2 towns over to have an emergency C-Section to save my life and the life of my Daughter. Yes! I had a girl. I have named her Esther Ruth. She was born six weeks early and it has taken me a while to recover. That coupled with getting slapped by post natal depression has taken a toll on me and it has taken me a while to get back on an even keel and be able to function in life again. But I am doing much better and I am back writing. So hopefully I will be able to update more often now. But please be patient with me, my family come first then my hobbies, which this story is so it may be a while between updates. But I will try to do it more often. Please forgive the wait. Let me know what you thought.
