I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Ferrets, weasels and mudbloods
Chapter 8
Date Started: 03-02-07
Pairing: HarryxGinny( I dun like Ginny...), Some more Remus and Snape stuff, and some more AberforthxMinerva. Future DM/HP
Disclaimer: Yep. Don't own them. Wish I did...but nope. The idea wasn't even mine. It was Yami Bakura's. I had thought of something like this... but my idea was a lot stickier so I knew deep down I'd never write it. XD http://hp.adult-fanfiction.org/authors.php?no=1296771786
A/N - Okay... so I was browsing fics... and... okay... I just want to say... HARRY AND DRACO HATE EACH OTHER. It's canon! They aren't going to randomly admit in their heads: OMG I LOVE HIM. Even if their hormones get the better of them and they kiss in the passion of a fight... THEY HATE EACH OTHER. That's something that annoys me... does it annoy you? Harry isn't going to sit and suddenly say... "Draco is so hot... I think I'm in love with him!" and Draco isn't going to come up to Harry and say... "Harry. I've loved you ever since that day on the train when I first saw you. With your sexy messy hair and those broken glasses..." GAH. NO. That's not how things work. And if anyone that knows a guy that ended up falling for another guy without knowing they were gay before hand... then that isn't how things happen. Draco isn't going to wink and wiggle his eyebrows ( well he might as he tends to do that sort of thing ) and Harry isn't going to follow him where ever he might be going to have a quick fuck with him. Sorry. I'm done ranting... I just... can't find any good fics where they hate each other and work up to the affection. T_T It makes me sad....
One last note...I have discovered the humor of Windows Dancer. A guy line-dancing to Sexy Back... doesn't get better.

A pair of blue eyes searched a pair gray from a distance of five feet. There had to be something there. Something that clicked as lying. Something that betrayed the otherwise innocent and somewhat bored facial features. All that was needed was a simple look, a quirk of the lips.
Malfoy sat there, being stared at by someone like the Weasel was greatly annoying. But he couldn't lower himself to glare. It was understandable that he would be greatly questioned by the wonderful Harry Potter's friends. He hadn't exactly proven himself to be the best fellow. Besides, he wouldn't change his views. As much as he hated that he was basically under the protection of Halfbloods and Blood traitors. It was important to his survival. If he had to be cival. It was what Malfoy's do. They suck up to and tolerate the people they need to.
Ron was about to whine at the lack of reaction from Malfoy when Harry and Ginny returned, the tension between them obvious. It became quite clear to Harry that being around Ginny was very hard to do when he had strong feelings for her but didn't want to be with her for her own good. He needed the distraction of having Ron there. Ginny seemed to understand, though, and he was greatful.
"How are things?" Harry asked as he sat near Ron, Ginny taking her place beside him and smiling weakly at Malfoy.
"Boring." Ron all but squeaked.
Harry frowned and Draco took the change to smirk.
Ron glared.
A car stopped outside the house but no one seemed to care much.
"Where is everyone?" Ron asked, looking around some. Once again the house was complete void of anyone over seventeen and Ron never noticed how much he depended on his brothers for entertainment.
"Probably working on Professor Lupin's potion..." Ginny suggested. Harry could only smile at her.
Harry leaned back heavily in the lush couch and sighed. "That must be really hard to make."
"It's the only potion proven to relieve the symptoms of lycanthropy. Of course it's very complex."
Everyone turned to look at Malfoy after he had spoken. He didn't seem to notice or care and stood, dusting off the back of his pants lightly before taking his leave and exiting the room.
Ron leaned closer to Harry, lightly nudging his arm. "Since when did Malfoy have a brain?"
Ginny gave a soft giggle and Harry smiled, his eyes trained on the spot where Malfoy had left through.

Remus sat, silently watching as Snape chopped up the various items with a skill that Remus hadn't ever imagined while in school. Perhaps that was why he barely got by in classes. His things looked more hacked than chopped. It was quite amusing to think about. Snape looked up from time to time and Remus would give him a smile but the potions master often just looked back down with little to no recognition.
Remus didn't mind, though.
Snape carefully scooped up the sliced petals from the cutting board into his hands before leaning to watch the bubbling cauldron before slowly pouring them into the mixture. He reached for the stirrer, moving three turns clockwise, then two counter clockwise then repeating the motion.
"It says twenty-nine turns clockwise, Severus..." Remus stated, leaning closer to the cauldron, frowning faintly. He didn't particularly want a potion to explode on him especially when said potion took two weeks to make.
"I know." Snape answered simply, stopping when the potion turned a dark inky blue.
"How did you know that would work?" Remus asked, obviously impressed.
"It's what I do, Mister Lupin... I make potions."
"Remus."
"Remus..."
"That's better." Remus nodded and looked at the book. "Now then... you let this simmer for twelve hours... Then add the nettles and monkshood."
Snape only nodded. "I know... I've been making this potion for years... I know what I'm doing. So far nothing has happened to you yet?"
Remus took a split second to blush from embarrassment. "I know. I'm very grateful to you. I wouldn't be nearly so good at it."
Snape looked slightly pleased when Remus looked up which made the werewolf smile contently.
Snape turned his head after a moment before gathering up the rest of the ingredients into several small and labeled containers before placing them all inside a small cauldron. Remus watched amusedly, his head tilting to the side.

Hermione waved to her parents, her backpack slung over one shoulder before stepping past the barrier, sighing heavily and walking up to the house. She slowly entered the house.
"Harry?"
She heard the reply of 'we're in here' and shook her head, setting her bag down and walking forward. Exactly where 'here' was, she wasn't sure. She turned to look in the kitchen and ran straight into someone.
"Ow..." She started before lifting her head and giving her hair a little toss before shrieking at the top of her lungs.
Harry, Ron and Ginny all ran forward before Ron pulled his wand on Malfoy. "What did the slimey git do?"
Harry was mildly surprised that he hadn't pulled his wand as well. Malfoy was looking at Ron with a look of disgust before he turned to look at Hermione.
"Watch where you're going next time, Mudblood..." His eyes had narrowed but didn't hold the usual venom as he turned to walk past, his head held high and proud as any proper Malfoy would have done.
"I wish I knew how to turn him into a ferret..." Ron muttered.
Harry turned his head and glared at the back of the blonde head, frowning slightly before looking back to Hermione who still looked slightly shaken. Ron and Ginny were both attempting to comfort her from the scare. It was bound to be a fairly good one considering how pale she looked. The name calling probably hadn't helped.
"Harry... why is he here...?" She asked, frowning slightly as she stepped away from Ron and Ginny.
"McGonagall... and Snape ask-"
"Harry! No...!" She looked more frightened and concerned than she had in a long time.
"Let me explain..."
"Harry..." She frowned.
"I was there, Hermione... Just hear me out?"
She sighed before nodding once and following him into the sitting room, Ron and Ginny following closely behind.

Draco sat on the same bed, looking around at the same things, frowning. This place was horrible and it was very hard to believe that his mother's aunt had lived in a place like this. It must have looked better at the time. He sighed and fell back on the bed, taking in a deep breath, eyes searching the ceiling for something he'd never find. This wouldn't work. He couldn't stay here. He couldn't be one of the good guys. He wasn't cut out for it.
He wasn't like the mudblood and the weasel and he certainly wasn't like Harry Potter.
He rolled over and over, trying to get comfortable. He missed his bed greatly. He missed his home. He even missed his family. He longed for nothing more than to simply return home and curl up so that he could wake up from this horrible nightmare. He wanted to be sixteen again. He wanted to fifteen again. He wanted to just be himself and not have to try and fit into an even tighter mold. It didn't really seem like it was fair at all. The only person he could think of to blame was his father.
His father sent him hurtling into this life. His father decided to follow blindly after some halfblood that would just as easily kill him as he would kill a muggle. Muggle born's first. That was the most stupid thing he'd ever heard. Halfbloods and muggles. Voldemort should just kill himself.
He finally got comfortable, sighing somewhat contently. If he listened close enough he could hear the infamous Harry Potter and his gang of loyal friends. Never alone, that boy was. He couldn't make out what they were saying, so it was a little pointless to listen. That didn't stop him from trying, though.

Minerva,
I recieved word of the missing official today in Hog's Head. It's quite unfortunate, don't you agree? I'm sure you've heard and have read the article thoroughly. It would seem perhaps that things are progressing, wouldn't it?
I am left to believe that those glasses you were interested in may infact be located Great Hangleton. I know you had your doubts before but it seems a highly likely place due to the mass of drunk men speaking of them and that area in the same sentences.
They are rather amusing... I do hope you'll visit me sometime. I do enjoy your company. I'm sure we'll see each other soon.
Sincerely,
A. Dumbledore
The woman tucked some of the graying black hair behind her ear. Her eyes glanced to the side at a small desk which had a few various papers spread out over it's surface. Muggle and Wizard alike. She sighed softly before leaning back weakly in her chair. The ministry official wasn't crucial to the inner workings but the loss was no less heard.
She carefully folded the letter, sending it to the desk to lay among the various papers with a simple flick of her wand. She stood, adjusting her robes as she walked over to the window, staring outside for a moment before reaching a hand up to remove her glasses, carefully folding them and holding them within her hand, tipping her weight forward to rest her forhead against the glass. This was not a good start of the month.

A/N - Yay. Another chapter. My internet randomly died on me... I was SO mad... so sorry if this update seems a little late. Plus I had trouble writing this for some reason... I REALLY hope that I'm not getting writers block or something. That's a horrible thing to have happen. I think I may skip ahead a little, to make things easier for me. With more new things happening then I'm more likely to keep going? I hope so. I'm not a big Hermione fan either. My strong dislike for Hermione and Ron in fanfiction really should motivate me to write them all special and really well... but it doesn't... OH WELL. This story is focusing around Draco and Harry for the most part anyway? Plus it's really hard for Harry and Draco to hook up when Harry just broke up with Ginny about *checks calender* two weeks ago. It's also really hard for them to interact with Ginny there... and Ron being mental... and Hermione frowning. XD
Once again thanks for all the reviews! I really live off them! If I didn't get any I probably wouldn't have made it past chapter 2. I love you guys!
Also it's good that no one is like... OMG I SAW SO MANY MISTAKES. Cause... to be honest... I don't usually proofread. *sad and pathetic* I just like getting chapters out as fast as I can.
