Hanging in There
*
"Dumbledore," Harry sneered. Dumbledore looked up at him through his half-moon glasses. Harry was standing in his room looking as though he'd rather be anywhere else.
"Yes, Mr. Potter?" Dumbledore asked politely, gesturing for him to sit down. Harry did so, however reluctantly.
Dumbledore surveyed him closely. Harry had barged in, demanding entrance from the gargoyle. Dumbledore had allowed him in but was now beginning to regret his decision.
Harry rolled his eyes flopped unceremoniously into a chair. He was less than happy to have to ask Dumbledore for answers. He hadn't trusted his answers for many years.
"What do you know about Draco?" Harry asked without preamble.
Dumbledore raised a slim eyebrow at Harry. "What do you mean?" he asked.
Harry looked up at the ceiling as though praying for patience. "Don't play with me, Dumbledore. Tell me what you know," he demanded.
Dumbledore rose from his chair and sighed. He walked over to his window and looked down at the grounds.
Harry watched him through narrowed eyes as he stood gazing out the window. At length, he turned around to look at Harry. His piercing blue eyes glanced over Harry's features.
"I do not know much," Dumbledore started and Harry scoffed. Dumbledore ignored him and continued, "All I know is that he seems to have changed. He has not come to me, so I have no way of knowing what's going on."
"Please, you know everything," Harry scoffed. "And I know you're not telling me the whole truth."
Dumbledore turned once again to the window and closed his eyes tiredly. He was thankful that he had not pressed Snape to teach Harry Legilimency also. He couldn't reveal the whole truth to Harry for fear of what the consequences might be to both boys. He knew it was best to let things work out by themselves.
"I'm sorry my answer was not as palatable as you'd like, but that is all I know."
Harry narrowed his eyes, displeased with the information he had gained. "How has he changed?" he probed. He was not going to leave until he was satisfied. Dumbledore turned to face him, surprised.
"Can you not tell?" Dumbledore asked in surprise. "His personality has gained. He is no longer satisfied with being trodden on. I'm afraid you'll find him to be far less easy to control than before."
Harry scowled at this explanation. He'd always liked Draco as being willing to submit to him. Everyone else did. He had grown accustom to this type of attention. His control of the school had always been a good thing.
"Fine, Dumbledore, say whatever you want, but this school is mine and I'll be damned if he's going to take it." Harry turned then and left down the winding staircase. Dumbledore turned from the window at last and sat back down in his chair behind the desk.
Harry's last words replayed in his head. He walked over to his cabinet and pulled out his pensieve. He set it on his desk and raised his wand to his temple. He pulled it away and a thin thread of memory was lowered into the basin.
Harry's face swam on the surface of the silvery liquid. Dumbledore smiled sadly at the image before him. He sat back down tiredly in his chair.
"'I'll be damned', well, Harry, I hope you like the heat."

Draco had gone back to his dormitory after Blaise had left to chase Seamus. He scowled at the portrait guardian and went inside. He threw himself down on the bed.
He hated what he'd done. Why couldn't he have just learned to live with Potter as he had been?
'Because you wanted everything perfect,' he thought to himself. He rolled his eyes at the thought, knowing it was true.
But why had it been so important for Potter to like him? He couldn't answer that question. All he knew was that it had always killed him that he wasn't his friend, that he'd rejected him first year.
The door creaked open at that moment and Blaise came in. Draco looked up momentarily before dropping his head back on the pillow. Blaise walked over to his desk and pulled out some of his homework.
He began working on it in silence. Draco did nothing to break the silence that descended.
For a while, only the scratching of Blaise's quill on parchment was the only thing heard in the room. Draco lay on his bed staring at the ceiling.
Eventually, it was time for them to go down to Care of Magical Creatures class. They dragged themselves unwillingly from their room and down to Hagrid's cabin.
Hagrid stood waiting for everyone. He didn't look quite as eager as usual. He waited until the class had assembled in front of him before starting. Harry lingered in the back, leaning against a tree looking utterly unconcerned. Pansy hovered unnecessarily by him.
Harry was ignoring her and instead glaring at Draco. Draco caught his glance once, sneered at him, then turned away. Harry's eyes narrowed in anger as he continued to observe him.
Hagrid looked around at the class and clapped his massive hands together, a signal that they were to start.
"Okay, so I got sumpin' fer you ter look after terday," Hagrid told the class. Draco rolled his eyes at him. The big oaf was going to try yet again to be a teacher. "It's sumpin differ'nt than normal."
Draco laughed derisively at that. Nothing Hagrid ever got was normal. What could he possibly define as 'different'? Harry's head turned sharply as Draco laughed. A fire blazed in his bright green eyes.
Hagrid then produced an odd looking creature which he gave a name and instructed them to pair up and observe. Draco turned to Blaise as his partner, but he had no sooner turned his way when Harry appeared, glaring at Blaise.
"Get lost, Zabini," he growled. Blaise sneered at him and his eyes roved over the remaining students. He grinned as they fell on Seamus. Harry's eyes widened as Blaise walked over to Seamus and engaged him in conversation. That wasn't what he'd planned. He turned back to Draco who was standing with his arms crossed, scowling at him.
"Thanks for nothing, Potter," he sneered at him. Harry glared at him. Draco turned and walked back a few paces before settling himself on the grass.
Harry joined him shortly, still looking angry. "You had no right to do that," he told him minutes later.
"Do what?" Draco drawled, not understanding.
Harry narrowed his eyes once again. "Laugh at Hagrid. He didn't do anything," he said dangerously.
Draco rolled his eyes. At least one thing was the same. "Right, just don't talk to me anymore, Potter." Draco turned away from him and busied himself with his bag. He could feel Harry's eyes burning a hole in his back.
They spent the next half hour observing their creature in silence. Draco soon lost interest and found his attention wandering. He looked around at the rest of the class.
Blaise and Seamus seemed to be pretty cozy. Blaise's hand had worked it's way onto Seamus' thigh and he wasn't making any moves to dislodge it. Ron and Lavender were sitting a little further on. Ron kept shooting furtive glances at where Parvati and Hermione had settled themselves.
Lavender caught him once and smacked him upside the head. Draco snickered quietly when this happened. Harry looked up sharply and followed his eye line. His eyebrows furrowed as he watched Lavender and Ron bicker.
Hermione did not seem to notice anything odd was happening. She was buried up to her nose in the book and copying down notes. Draco did notice her shoot a covert glance at Ron once in a while though.
After the class finished, Draco walked up to the castle, careful to avoid Harry's piercing stare. He walked into the entrance hall and up the staircase. Blaise had drug Seamus away when Harry wasn't looking and they were no where to be seen.
Draco continued on his way up the stairs. He was too wrapped up in his own thoughts to notice the stealthy figure creeping behind him. He was almost to his dormitory when he was pushed roughly against a wall by an unseen force.
The force of the impact left little stars swimming in front of his eyes. He shook them away and focused his gaze. He found himself looking into a pair of dazzling green eyes. His breath caught in his throat at their beauty.
He pulled himself out of his shock soon though and struggled to remove himself from the iron grip Harry had on him. It was in vain, however. Harry had a strong grip and refused to let him go.
Harry leaned in slowly, torturously. He was less than an inch away from Draco's face. Draco stilled and looked at him, wondering what he was in for this time. Harry's eyes roamed over his face, pausing on his pink lips.
"You know," Harry whispered, "I don't like being treated like that."
Draco was slightly confused. "Like what?" he asked. Harry moved forward and allowed his teeth to scrape up Draco's jaw quickly followed by his tongue to soothe the skin. He felt Draco shudder underneath him and was pleased.
"I don't like to be insulted," he whispered harshly, pinning Draco's hands harder to the wall, so he was now completely unable to move them.
"Well, you better get used to it," Draco said in a quiet voice. He couldn't seem to control his body. He ached for Harry to touch him, to kiss him once more.
He felt Harry nuzzle his neck and place a gentle kiss below his ear. He held back the moan that was threatening to escape. He couldn't let Harry know he was enjoying it, although, enjoying it he was.
"I don't think so," Harry whispered into Draco's ear, causing him to shiver uncontrollably. He could feel his arousal growing and tried fruitlessly to stop it.
Harry took Draco's earlobe into his mouth and tugged on it with great skill. Draco could stand it no longer and let out a tiny whimper. Harry released the lobe and moved down to Draco's neck. He licked and nipped his way down stopping to suck on the sensitive spot where his shoulder met his neck.
He still held Draco's hands at his sides, preventing him from moving or helping in any way. Draco moaned at the feeling Harry was causing. He longed to kiss him. Harry seemed to sense his need. He stopped kissing his neck and moved to look at Draco.
Draco was breathing harder than normal by now. He pleaded with his eyes, wishing to be kissed. Harry hesitated for a second before leaning in and kissing Draco softly. It wasn't the kind of kiss Draco had been hoping for.
With Harry's body pressed firmly against his, he could feel Harry's hard length pressing into his own. He groaned into the kiss and tried to deepen it. Harry would have none of it and pulled away quickly.
"~~Too eager~~," Harry hissed in parseltongue. Draco's body arched up involuntarily on Harry's use of snake language. The words slid off his silky tongue so naturally.
"Oh God, please," Draco begged. Harry smirked to himself, and went on to remove Draco's garments. He was moving painstakingly slow, making sure to brush his fingers along Draco's exposed skin. He spelled Draco's hands to the wall, so he was still unable to move them.
Draco arched into his every touch. Soon he was completely naked and bound to the corridor. Harry stepped back and surveyed his prize. Draco waited impatiently for him to continue. Harry eventually came back to him and ran his fingers over Draco's hard nipples.
Draco groaned loudly, wanting more. Harry slid his hand up behind his neck and pulled his head forward into a searing kiss. Draco struggled against his bonds to be able to move forward and touch Harry, but it was useless.
Draco moaned as his mouth was plundered by Harry's hot, wet tongue. Harry moved closer, causing unneeded friction. The feeling of Harry's pants against Draco's exposed and throbbing member almost brought him to climax by itself.
Harry's hand slithered down in-between their bodies to grasp Draco's already leaking cock. He began rubbing it slowly while continuing to tease Draco by giving him quick hard kisses. Draco whimpered as he was brought closer and closer to completion.
Harry smirked to himself one last time, pulling agonizingly slow on Draco's hard cock. He gave him a long, slow kiss before pulling back. He removed his hand from Draco's throbbing member. Draco stared at him. He was so close, and yet so far.
Harry stepped back a few steps, smirking at Draco.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Draco demanded, struggling once more against the bonds that held his hands.
Harry paused, listening. The rumble of classes being excused could be heard. He turned to Draco, grinning evilly. "Let's see how your ego handles this," he said maliciously. Then he turned and left Draco, naked and hard, standing tied to the wall.
