Tainted Soul

Snape was watching her closely now and she knew that she couldn't allow him to see the pain in her eyes. The pain of the love that she once had for the man that haunted her every time she saw him. But he would soon know taht she was telling Vicktor that she wouldn't be marrying him and she had to find away to get around the law. Dumbledore was helping her with it until she was ready to say goodbye to Vicktor. That day was coming fast and she knew it. He would be leaving in three days and she knew that she couldn't allow him to leave Hogwarts believing that she would become his wife. "Rose dear I had the agreement and the Ministry has agreed to allow you to trick Snape into signing it. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but we both know that he wouldn't sign it willingly."





"I think that I have a way to get him to sign it willingly if you will premit me to allow my son to stay here with him. I know that they both would like that very much." She said to the headmaster.





Dumbledore looked at her for a moment and then nodded. "We both know that they have grown quite fond of each other. He actually smiles now."





"Then you will allow Seth to Stay?" Rose asked him.





"Yes I will allow Seth to stay. But only if he signs the agreement willimgly." Dumbledore said to her.





"Now that is foing to be a little hard to do since I was going to offer Seth to stay with him instead away from him if he signed the agreement." Rose said looking at him.





Dumbledore looked down at her and smiled. "I will grant it if he says yes."





"Thank you Headmaster." She said as she took the agreement and walked out of his office.





Harry came out of the room behind Dumbledore's chair and sighed. "It's for the best that she doesn't marry Vicktor since Hermione has finally confessed to him the feelign that she has had for a long time. But I know how much he loves Rose and I know that it will be hurting him even though he is now free to follow his feelings for Hermione. Dear god I fear taht this life will be the death of is all Headmaster."





"Harry I know that this year is hard on all of us and we haven't seen eye to eye on mny things but this is a good step Rose is taking. She is made for Severus and he is made for her. This is part of the healing. Part of her saying goodbye to the past. This is how it will all start." Dumbledore said to him.





"That is too bad becasue I know three other guys that love her very much." Harry said to him.





"Yes and you and them are not her soul mate. I am sorry to say that Harry becasue I know just how much Fred and Lee also care for her." Dumbledore said before they walked out of the office.





Rose was sitting at her desk when there was a knock on her door. She knew the time has come for her to do the right thing. She just prayed that Vicktor would understand. That he wouldn't hate her forever. But she knew that she had lied to him when he asked her was she marrying him just because he asked. Becasue that was the main reason she was marrying him. But not after today. "Hold on please."


When she opened the door she was surprised to see Viktor was not the one there but Snape. "How may I help you Professor?"


"I was hoping that we would be able to speak about something in private." He said to her as a group of children passed him in the hall.


She moved to allow him to pass inot her room and closed the door behind him. "Sit please Severus it must be important for you to come up here on a holiday."


"It has to do with our son. I do not want him to go back with Viktor. I fear others know about him now and he will be a target. I do not trust Krum to protect hiim. He should be allowed to stay here with us. He can move in with me if you like. You can too if you want to be close to him." He said to her.


She gluped and walked to the seat that was across from his. "I will agree if you sign an agreement to not force me into a marriage with you after I break it off with Viktor."


He looked a ther shocked and she saw the black fire of anger in his eyes before his mask slid back over his face. "I mean to stay with you he wasn't going back in the first place he would be here with me. But if you sign the agreement then you can have Seth move in with you."


"Why cannot you not see that I am not the man taht did that to you?" He asked her suddenly.


"That is the problem I do see you aren't the man that did it. You were the man that fought yourself and lost. It was still done and now thereis nothign taht can be done about it Severus. I am trying to move on with this and to get over it. So I can live a real lufe without fear and pain every time I fall to sleep. Please just sign the agreement and allow me the time to do this. Then we will talk about us." She said as she looked at the floor.

"I will sign it becaus eI am glad tha tyou have seen that he wasn't right for you." Snape said to her.

"Thank you Snape. You don't know how much this means to me." She said as she handed him the scroll and a quill. She placed the ink on the table beside him and stepped back quickly.

Snape notcied though he still said nothing to her about it. He knew that she was coming to terms with everything and that was all he could ask her to do. He couldn't push it anymore. And he swore to Dumbledore that he wouldn't push her. He had to stand by and watch just as the others did. She just started to realize the life that was before her and he kenw that he would always be in it. As he signed his name he thought about the first time he saw her as a woman instead of a student. It was a month before Voldemort forced hom to bring her to him. "I wold like you to join Seth and I for dinner one night soon. I know that he would like it. He has talked non stop about getting you away from that fool Viktor."

Rose took a deep breath and sighed. She knew that Seth loved Viktor but he always said taht he would rather have a true family with her and his father. Now that he knew his father she knew that he would be pushing it and that was going to be the worse thing becasue she knew that she wouldn't be able to do it any time soon. "I will think about it. But I cannot promise anything."

"I will tell Seth." He said as the scroll disappeared in front of their eyes. "Thank you SNape I know how hard this is for you." She said softly.

"Don't worry about me Rose. You are the one taht we all are worried about. This is harder on you then any of us because we aren't living through it. But I want you to know that you can talk to me. You can come to me for someone to listen if you need it. I know that you will soon." He said to her.

"Thank you Snape I will think about it now I am waiting for Viktor please don't be here when he comes." She sai ot him.

"I am leaving now do not worry. I hope it goes ok." He told her as he stood.

"As do I goodnight Professor." She said before he left her rooms shutting the door behind him.
