“Draco, if you could stay after class.” Narcissa spoke when the class was over.
Draco waited while everyone else left before he got up to walk to his mother. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“That’s not important right now,” Narcissa replied. Her face looked calm and serious. Draco wondered what was wrong when his mother spoke again. “I’ve waited for years for you to figure something out. I don’t know why you didn’t; the only thing I can think of is that someone placed a curse on you. Of course this curse couldn’t be from any text books, so I don’t know how to counter it, or else I would have done so years ago. You tell me that you are seeing things between two men named Nathaniel and Zachary… I think it’s time you knew. I wanted you to find out for yourself, but time is running short. So I think that if I just out right say it, it may just be what snaps the curse off of you. Don’t ask me how I know but you are Nathaniel. You are a tripudeata.”
Just like what his mother thought would happen, something did seem to snap at hearing those words. ‘Of course,’ he thought to himself before he passed out again. He had seen a lot of things to do with Zach and Nathaniel but never just from Nathaniel’s perspective and without so much detail.
***
“Zach!” Draco yelled before pushing Zach further on the cold stone floor under him. Zach was bleeding from quite a few wounds, if it wasn’t for their boss and some of the other assassins, he would probably be dead by now. He had grabbed Zach and dragged him to safety in a room set up by the others.
“Don’t you ever go off to do a mission by yourself ever again, do you understand me?” Draco continued; fear still gripping his heart at seeing the man he loved from their first month together in such a state.
Zach gasped a bit and leaned his head on the floor. He looked up into the Draco‘s eyes before he spoke, “I… understand.”
Draco only had to look into those hazel eyes for a second before he couldn’t control himself anymore and kissed him. He let out all the frustration, the fear, the worry into that kiss. All those emotions pushed aside the fear that he wouldn’t be wanted in return, but when he felt Zach’s hand softly pressing against his side, he knew he had no reason for that particular fear anymore. He eased up on the kiss a little so that he wouldn’t hurt Zach any more than he was to just gently kiss him, breaking it off before the others came into the room, one woman with some medical supplies.
***
Draco was 16 this time. He had been trying to find Emily since he left his dad’s house when he was 12, but he wasn’t having any luck at it. He knew this area wasn’t the safest, but he had to look everywhere. It was dark, so he was about to go back to the abandoned house he found to stay in about a week ago when a woman came up to him.
“Hello there.” She spoke. As if in a trance Draco just relaxed and she was instantly at his side with her arms around him. “Well you certainly are an easy, but beautiful prey.”
That word seemed to snap Draco out of it. “You’re a vampire! I’ve fought you before I can do it again.” He warned.
The woman just laughed. “I don’t think you can,” she spoke before quickly biting his neck. Draco shivered in disgust at his inability to move and at the slight pleasure he felt from the bite. He hated that. She was strong and Draco figured she may have had some magic behind that as well to help ease his stupid human body to do as she willed.
Just as he was about to pass out the woman stopped. “You are too beautiful of a human to put to waste.” Without asking, she mumbled a few words before slashing her wrist with a fang and letting three drops go into Draco’s mouth. By instinct he swallowed the saliva mixed blood before he did pass out, pain jutting out from every part of his body.
When he woke he heard a calling. His soul seemed to pull him to a direction, though it felt very feint. He gave up all hope on finding Emily and decided instead to find out what this meant and find whatever lay at the end of it.
“So you were strong enough to pull through.” The woman from earlier stepped out of some shadows as she spoke. “Good. You’re a vampire now, enjoy.” She continued and laughed. “Tell your mate I said you’re welcome.” Then she was gone.
*
There he was! After spending a year looking following the pull he finally reached the end. He knew that’s this boy was his mate, but he couldn’t stop thinking of Zach. Zach was his love. But he couldn’t deny the pull, so he used his vampire speed to go up to him and wrapped his arms around the boy.
The boy seemed to struggle at first but then he relaxed.
“I’ve finally found you,” Draco spoke. He had to stop his instincts when he felt the boy shiver so that he could continue his sentence. “But I will choose to die if you are not Zach.”
“N-Nathan?” The boy spoke quietly.
Draco felt his heart swell. This was his Zach! They were tripudeatas just like Emily. He gave into his urge and kissed the boy fiercely. He would have done more but he knew he had to tell him that he was right. “Yes, my love.”
The boy looked up to him, searching his face before he gasped. “You’re a vampire.”
Draco smiled. “In this life, yes. And you, my love, happen to be my mate.”
*
They were so outnumbered in their previous life, Draco had no idea how many there were. Every time they got someone, they found another one part of the same group. Sarah was their eleventh person in the group they tracked down, now she lay at Isaac’s feet, spitting threats and challenges. Meaningless little words. Draco stayed in the shadows until Isaac gave his cue.
Isaac looked at Draco, having Sarah’s eyes follow in the same direction. He stepped out of the shadows, looking ever like the angered vampire he was.
“You wouldn’t!” Sarah gasped.
Draco just smirked. He let Isaac say her name before he quickly used his vampire speed and brought his hand forward to snap her neck, using a dagger to cut across her neck. The men and women from the group had the worst tasting blood; he would never drink from them.
“It’s already done,” Isaac finished.
Quite suddenly, Draco fell to his knees, pain ripping from his back. He knew it couldn’t be direct pain, so he looked at Isaac to see him gasping before falling to the ground, a dagger in his back. A strangled yell ripped from Draco’s mouth before he jumped up, slicing the throat of the man who killed his love as well.
Suddenly he was on his back. He looked up at how he got there to see a group of about 4 people. One was a witch who had her hand out, holding him down with magic. Another one from the group stepped forward, chuckling at Draco. “Silly fools. We have people who are more than human too.” He smiled, showing his fangs as well. The other vampire flung his hand to him before saying some words. Suddenly Draco’s whole body was in pain. The last thought that ran through his head before blackness overtook him was their old house from when they were still Nathan and Zach. That was their meeting place. He’d see his love again soon and hopefully they would be better matched against the group that time.
***
Draco was 10. He sat alone at Nathan and Zach’s house, waiting to see how long it would take for this life of Zach to meet him here. The house was in a small town in England, not even on the map. It was a trek for him, coming from Japan, especially since he was only 6 when he left. He didn’t have any parents this life though that were still alive.
A knock sounded at the door and he jumped up, excitement running through him. He ran to the door and unlocked it before opening it. He saw a boy about his age with dark brown hair and amber brown eyes. He smiled brightly before giving him a hug and taking his hand to pull in inside, closing the door behind him.
“You’re a creature again? That’s what? 5 lifetimes in a row since Caleb?” The boy asked with a smile.
“Yep.” Draco spoke, knowing it would sound like music. “I don’t really know much about what I am, my parents just left me with the name of what I am. Do you know anything about Kuealesh?”
The other boy shook his head.
Draco spoke again. “Oh well. My name this life is Kayou.”
“Kei,” the boy replied.
Draco almost laughed. “Wait, so you’re from Japan too? It would have saved so much time if we just met there.”
Kei laughed a bit before both were interrupted.
“What are you boys doing here?” A girl’s voice spoke up.
Draco looked at the girl to see shoulder length brown hair. She looked a bit younger than them. “This is our house,” Draco answered.
Kei looked at her with slight squinted eyes. “Emily?”
The girl let out a confused gasp. “It can’t possibly be…”
Draco squinted at her too, trying to read her aura. He gasped when he saw multiple colors. “It is Emily!” He launched himself at her and gave her a big hug. “We’ve spent so many lifetimes looking for you!”
Draco felt Kei join in the hug before he pulled away. “It is us.” Draco smiled. “I’m Nathan. Kei is Zach.”
The girl shook her head a bit. “It will be so weird with you being the non-human this time.” She spoke with a laugh before she hugged the two boys again.
“So what made you decide to come here?” Kei asked Emily.
“Oh, well I’ve been trying to go after those guys that killed you and I wanted to come back here and see if I could find any other papers you guys worked on. I came to a dead end my last life.” Emily replied before she spoke again. “Oh, it’s so good to know you guys are tripudeatas too! Oh yeah, my name this life is Nami.”
*
“I found out more about the Kuealesh.” Kei spoke from their apartment in Japan. They were 16 now, only 6 years of being best friends, and one year of being romantically involved from when they were able to meet up with each other. “Apparently they’re only native around here and China, though they seemed to have been deleted from most books. It’s pretty much what we’ve figured out already. They’re like a siren in that they seduce people with song, but they aren’t hideous.” He smiled at Draco before continuing. “It says that while most creatures are best at seducing the opposite sex, the Kuealesh are best at seducing the same sex since they least expect it. That may be why Nami isn’t affected by it much.”
Draco smiled and wrapped an arm around Kei. “And of course, I don’t need any help seducing my mate.”
When Kei laughed at that, Draco could have sworn Kei was the Kuealesh at the way that laugh seemed to sing to him. Over the past 5 lives, he certainly got used to how it was like to have a mate. He absolutely loved it. To hear his soul sing, to know that they had a connection much stronger than their first life could possibly make for them. It felt wonderful to be so absolutely loved, no matter how many lives they had, no matter how many deaths they’d have to endure. They still didn’t get the whole group because the original group brought in their kids, the kids brought in friends, and so on throughout the generations.
They had just recently got rid of Sarah’s great, great, great grandson. Of course they remembered everything perfectly well, just like they remembered Sarah. When they met up in that next life after they murdered Sarah, Draco mentioned to Zach that they had to deal with dark creatures as well. That was when things got complicated. It took them three lifetimes to kill that vampire/wizard that killed Draco when he was Caleb. They could only wonder how long it would take before they would stop fighting.
Kei asked Draco that same question when they killed that relative of Sarah’s. Draco could only answer as he knew, ‘when the fates decide.’

Harry woke, slowly coming to, seeing light slowly fill his vision. He groaned and rolled over to get the sun out of his eyes when he heard a voice.
“I would suggest you don’t move any more or else you’d roll out of the bed.”
He opened his eyes completely and looked at the direction of the voice to find Madame Pomfrey with her lips pursed looking at him. “What? How did I get here?” He asked her.
“Some of your fellow classmates went into the common room for lunch and found you passed out on the couch. Now that you are finally up I can go over a few more diagnostics.” She replied to him, moving around the bed.
“How long has it been?”
“About a week.”
Harry nodded. He now knew what he was. On top of everything else, he was a tripudeata. Twelve lives he went through and this life, the thirteenth life, was the first time he was a creature as well. He was still pretty certain that Nathan was a creature; he just wasn’t sure what he was. He had wondered to himself why it took him so long this time to get his memories back when he thought about the last spell spoken against himself and Nathan.
He couldn’t hear it too well because he was dying but he felt like a huge door with a lock on it was placed inside his soul. That spell must have been the one to retain his memories. If the group was getting this strong, they had to get rid of them soon.
Harry had a pretty good idea who the group was in this life. Voldemort and his death eaters.
That thought made Harry gasp. Draco was a son of one of the ones in the group! He hoped he didn’t have to kill him… it would kill himself. He grew worried and little confused. He didn’t know much about Draco’s true personality but if his vampire instinct was anything to go by he knew he’d fall in love with him. His soul sang out for Nathan, he was absolutely in love with Nathan, so how was it that he would love Draco? How would this work out? He didn’t have any experience in being a dark creature so he figured he’d have to talk to Nathan about it when he found him and hoped everything would be okay.
“Well all the tests came back negative.” Madam Pomfrey spoke up. Harry had hardly remembered her being there as he was lost in his thoughts. Madam Pomfrey continued, “I don’t know why you were passed out for a week, but I suppose I have no reason to keep you here. Go on, but if you feel strange at all you come here.” She looked worried, confused and something else that Harry couldn’t understand.
He just got up and nodded at Madam Pomfrey. “I will. Thank you.”
He left the hospital wing, hoping he could find Draco. He knew that after a week, the boy was probably worried for him. At least he hoped he was if they were supposed to be mates. He wondered if he should head by his old house he shared with Nathan. Maybe Nathan was waiting for him there already. Or he may never get his memories back. That thought scared him.
His mind seemed like a roller coaster. He didn’t know what to settle on. He wanted Draco, but he also wanted Nathan. He wanted to find Draco, but he wanted to go to his meeting house. He felt the beginnings of a migraine start up so he stopped walking down the hall and just closed his eyes, taking deep breaths.
“Harry, my boy.” Dumbledore’s voice entered Harry’s ears.
Harry opened his eyes and looked at Dumbledore, trying not to show his mistrust on his face. Dumbledore just didn’t sit right with him anymore. Something about the way he treated Harry just screamed manipulation. Now that he had his memories back, it was clear to see. “Yes sir?” Harry asked.
“I just heard from Madame Pomfrey that you were out of the hospital wing. Could you come with me to my office?” He asked, with that damn twinkle in his eye.
Harry nodded and followed Dumbledore. He really hoped this headache didn’t get worse. He had enough things on his mind without having to worry about whatever Dumbledore wanted him for.

Harry nodded and followed Dumbledore. He really hoped this headache didn’t get worse. He had enough things on his mind without having to worry about whatever Dumbledore wanted him for.
